@@rosewhite--- ? Go take a pill m8 ,the curtain was torn to show that Jesus had paid the full price for all sin and now we can enter directly into Gods presence ,we dont need a priest we are priests now if you have believed and accepted Jesus as Lord and saviour
It’s both : we can go directly to Him, in private, but He also wished to come to us through public and material or physical means, through His priests, the first among them being the Apostles, for we are not angels but men. He wouldn’t have otherwise chosen His disciples to go preach, done miracles to show His divinity or used physical water for baptism. And that’s why He also instituted a visible Church 2000 years ago, on the rock of saint Peter, and gave us seven sacraments ; but it’s especially why He became Incarnate, for all of our knowledge naturally comes from our senses first, and God did not create nature for nothing. All in all, we need the Roman Catholic Church, for all we have received from God has come from His Church.
This is strange. When you meet a Catholic who is simply doing everything to align with God's moral ethics, it is not because she believes in works. It is wrong theology trying to make people tell you that they are trying to work out their salvation. Bad theology is, denying that those who try to be perfect are those who are led by the Holy Spirit. No man can achieve all these by his power. Let's avoid making lazy Christians. Galatians 6:7-10 describes how we can align with God's word. If you become born again, you must keep nudging the Holy Spirit to help you to be better at living out the gospel values, whether you are Catholic or Protestant. There is too much infighting among Christians, yet the very people who are deliberately violating God's commands are patted on the backs in the name of sympathy and compassion. Anyone who is baptized unto Christ is an ambassador for Christ, notwithstanding whether you are Catholic or not. God bless your work anyway, but always ask the Holy Spirit to prompt you before you post any of your videos. The Holy Spirit is the big Boss.

Mountain Warrior Yes, that's also true. It's good to confess to each other, too. I think it's more real for the person to lay down the sin and to speak and receive forgiveness when somebody engages with them. But it's not a necessity like in the Catholic Church. A catholic believer normally doesn't address God or Jesus directly but go to an human mediator like priest, Mary or the saints to search for assistance, forgiveness or healing. After the confession the priest tells how many rosaries the person has to pray. What a privilege to have a relationship with the Heavenly Father and to speak and confess directly to God and Jesus Christ. And to be sure that there is amazing grace of forgiveness and reconciliation!🙏🏼
James Mullin You think it‘s arrogance? In my opinion it’s about religion vs personal relationship. Jesus Christ is my mediator and I am reconciled and adopted in God’s family. That’s why I can go to my Father without fear and hesitation Hebr. 10.22. And you are right: We must forgive each other, we have to give them free, and release them - in this way we become free, too . If we don’t forgive our Father in heaven won‘t forgive us our trespasses . Matth. 6.15
Correct. That's what "repent" means. We repent, and trust alone in Jesus and not in our own effort. Repentance doesn't mean "try better", but turn from our sins, and ask God to give us a new heart and new desire, and out of our new heart comes action. Faith without works is dead, but "dead works" without faith cannot save.

How does confessing to a priest, devoting his life for God's will, one who is believed listening on behalf of God is not confessing to God who is omni present and certainly saving this 1st century Church since it was formed. craigime His point was that you only confess to God and not to any humans, but Christ gave ministers the keys to absolve sins and give assurance of forgiveness. This isn’t just Catholic belief, but Lutheran and others with roots in the historic church.
@@zarnoffa i was a catholic myself and i've never heard that. only God can remove sins. no priest ever told me he could remove my sin, just just told me what i need to do, and when i did them, he was confident enough to tell me that my sins were forgiven. the truth is, i don't have to confess my sins to him or any minister to be forgiven. only to God. of course i can confess my sins to people, but that in no way helps remove my sins, so it would be pointless unless i had somehow obviously wronged the person. for all the times i've confessed to a priest, it did abosultely nothing for my salvation. i only found salvation later on in life, and left the catholic church when i read the bible for myself and saw it's heresies.
1new-man God gave ministers to assure you of forgiveness of your sins. How else do you know you’re forgiven? Where do you get the promise? You either have to feel forgiven and convince yourself in your own or you can trust the promise of Christ that is pronounced by ministers. Your sins were taken away at Calvary, but assurance of that comes to you personally through the ministry. Sure, you can walk along with your Bible, but how did early Christians hear the Bible promise of forgiveness? Through ministers.

Great approach , she seems to have understood the message and was moved by our hopelessness apart from Christ. One Commandment I would mention to a Roman Catholic being an ex RC myself, and Maltese like Anita :) is the 2nd Commandment because although it is included in the RC translation of the Bible IT IS NEVER PREACHED IN CHURCHES OR CATHECHISM OR SCHOOLS and it cannot because Roman Catholics are taught to bow before idols . It may not be a literal statue as the modern churches are trying to portray but the eucharist in the tabernacle is worshipped . Some may say venerated nonethess it is worship. So , the RCC continously breaks the 2nd Commandment. May God's grace be with Anita and all Roman Catholics who have a heart for Christ Jesus.
Shalom Liz. Please consider the following. We want people to come to Christ. We should do that with meekness. Using your tactic wont open their heart. We need to pursuede them without (as much as possible) offence or they will fall into denial and turn away from your preaching. Be wise as snakes and hamless as a dove. Matthew 10:16 (KJV) 16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. May Elohim keep you and your household healthy and save. Amen.
Thanks. I was wondering why he didn't go with that one and that lust is the same as adultery too. But I thought that the RCC had changed the 10 Commandments because the teacher at my kids' Christian school said that they had re-written them to make the last into two. Thank you for posting this video of Anita. I've come across so many people online that think " If Roman Catholics love and worship Jesus, what's the problem? " The problem is the RCC doesn't have a saving gospel.
@@Lerian_V Martin Luther was a Roman Catholic monk at the time of the Reformation.........hence, there is no difference in the gospel proclaimed by the RCC and the Protestant Reformation. Facepalm. What is the difference between justification by faith plus works ( the RCC) and justification by faith alone ( Reformation)? What is the difference between "infused" righteousness ( the RCC) and the imputed righteousness of Christ ( Reformation)?
One of the reasons your church wanted to kill Luther was because he realized that selling indulgences to the people in order to draw closer to God isn’t Biblical AT ALL. Luther knew, from reading the Bible, that the Catholic church was far gone from the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Who says Carmen? You know the first Christians, hiding in the catacombs, being killed by the Romans, believed as we do, not you. Actually, virtually every Christian believed as we do for 1500 years but they were all wrong and you have the true Gospel. Where do you think the Gospels came from? The Catholic Church decided which books were scripture. So if we dont have the saving Gospel, that means the Bible isn't valid because the Church compiled it. Please understand what you criticize before you do. And understand the history of Christianity and you will find it is Protestant that is manmade. Do you know Christendom rejected contraception for all of its history until the 1930s when Protestantism gave in to the world. Catholicism still teaches it is evil. Just do some research. Merry Christmas.
2 ways to go to God through Christ - ourselves (most definitely), another is through God's people (those living on earth, priests being in the forefront, family, friends in Christ etc., and those living in realms beyond earth, paradiso & purgatory) - all of us together make the Church, and are in Communion with each other as Christ's one body.
There is only ONE way to God and that is through His Son, Jesus. Purgatory does not exist except in the minds of men. Jesus told him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." (John 14: 6) www.gotquestions.org/Catholic-vs-Protestant.html www.gotquestions.org/Catholic-questions.html www.gotquestions.org/questions_eternity.html

This is a wonderful encounter with this lady. I am too a Catholic. We have a sacrament called "confession" in which we can go to a priest, the representative of Jesus, to confess our sins (privately, but this is considered confessed publicly, for it makes sin no longer in secret). After we confess our sins--which we committed even from the time we promised to follow Jesus--with repentance & a prayerful resolution, we try to live better morally & virtuously. Since we fall short of our promises, so we go to confession often in our lifetime, although while we "trust in Jesus". (Like Peter denied the Christ or apostles (& Bartholomew) didn't believe in Christ's power of resurrection) For us, Catholics the confession (or Reconciliation) is essential to live a holy (& innocent life), admitting we are sinful enough to end up in hell if we die that day. (because of our sins in mind & body, & our weak will & in temptations. (In our belief at least monthly confessions are recommended, but there are those who go weekly. Even Catholic priests & popes confess their sins to other priests)
You are Living Waters "Europe" so you don't that I corrected Living Waters on the subject of Catholicism. We believe the Gospel! At least in theory, but every Christian denomination has lukewarm believers. No one is good but God (Mark 10) and the sacrifice of Christ is essential for our salvation. How did you come to the conclusion that we should ditch Catholicism? Where does Jesus says: "Pray to me directly."? He is the Head of the Body - the Church (Collosians 1) and every time we sin, we sin against God and the rest of the Body. That's why we go to confession (John 20:23 and James 5:16).

@@daisystanley7103 most of you Protestants think that I always believed in the Catholic theology while this is far from the truth. That's the reason I used your words to give a response. If you had heard me one or two years ago, most of my explanations would sound more Protestant than Catholic. Many pastors strawman our arguments or beliefs and when they speak to their audiences they don't explain our best arguments. Let's say that I define the Sola Scriptura doctrine as "if it's not in the Bible, I don't believe in it." How would that make you feel? The Bible was written by Catholics for Catholics and compiled by Catholics for Catholics. That's why Catholicism wins in the end. It took me a long time to embrace Catholicism and I even asked the Lord if " that's really His Church" or if "He approves this theology and doctrines". Marian dogmas were the last that made sense to me because I had thought that they were unbiblical and close ti idolatry, while the doctrine of the Eucharist made sense to me and there was no Protestant explanation that was good enough for me. Protestants usually said: "It was meant to be symbolic!" Really? That's why in all four Gospels Jesus talks about it as His body and blood? Or that's why Paul quotes Jesus' words from the Tradition in 1st Corinthians 11? I don't if I'm right, but if I had to choose only one book from the Bible to fight against Muslims, JWs and Protestants, I would use the Revelation. It talks about Jesus' divinity (1, 5, 11, 14, 19 and 22), intercesion of the saints (5), purgatory (21) and Mary as the queen of heaven, Mother of the Church and Ark of the Covenant (11 and 12). I hope I didn't miss something. The first time I read the New Testament, I thought that Protestantism was true, but when I started reading it more carefully, I was more or less convicted that Catholicism is true. Prayers to God the Father in the name of Jesus was the final cause of pushing me back to the faith of my ancestors. I'm glad my grandmother survived the operation so she could see her oldest grandson returning to the true Church. Study the Scriptures, think about it, seek guidance and pray. These are my advices, do as you like it with them.

God bless her. She has a beautiful heart.

Knight of the King: You say, 'What about gluttony,? That has serious consequences.'
This thread is talking about SALVATION, not earthly consequences. Let me re-phrase my question. Are you saying that you can choose to be disobedient to Christ's teachings and still be saved?
@@fred3893 The answer is no. Disobedience leads to separation from God which means hell.

Repent and believe in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Recieve His Holy Spirit. Walk in the light of our Heavenly Father.
Praise God Almighty bless His Holy name.
Belief in Jesus means belief in everything Jesus taught, including that good works are necessary for salvation (Matthew 25:31-46), including that Holy Communion really is His Body and Blood (John 6:48-69), including that priests have the supernatural power to forgive sins (John 20:22-23), including that Purgatory exists (Matthew 5:25-26 and Luke 12:58-59), including that Jesus appointed Peter to be the fitst pope (Matthew 16:18-19).

18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Tell me what is this rock that Jesus builds His church on. Is it Peter or is it the ability that God has given to man to hear God the Father speaking to us. Peter whose name was Simon, heard the Father speaking to him and this was wisdom and guidance from God. This is the immovable force that the church is built on. The rock is Jesus and it is built by every Word that comes out of the mouth of our heavenly Father. Peter heard this word, and Jesus explained to Peter how His church is built.
Study to show yourself approved, but learn to hear the voice of our Lord and shepherd. My sheep hear my voice. Listen in prayer and fasting, and He will guide you to His loving side.

One thing i must add that is very crucial to understanding the ways of Jesus Christ in the church. As Moses lifted the serpent up in the desert so must the Son of man be lifted up. And if we lift up Jesus He will draw all men to Himself. Lift Him up and as we lift Him He will draw all men to the church.
@@mariopiazza3379 Jesis did not look at Simon Barjona and say, I am Peter (rock) and upon this rock I will build my Church. Jesus looked at Simon and said, "YOU are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church".

Explain John 20 then. Yeah everyone had it wrong for centuries and you are right. Such arrogance.
Matth. 6.15

You CAN'T continue SINNING and EXPECT to get to Heaven. Because God will JUDGE us BASED on our works.

Evengelism brings Gentiles to Jesus. Catholic Church teachings bring good fruits from devout Catholics. Though being good christian doesn't necessarily mean good Catholic. Similarly, a good Catholic, one who knows his faith inside out not a superficial one, can be awe inspiring Christian.
@Spacecoastz strange you mention this point... there is no mention of a future book that will be the primary source of all information concerning salvation in the scripture itself. The disciples therefore were glad, when they saw the Lord. 21He said therefore to them again: Peace be to you. His point was that you only confess to God and not to any humans, but Christ gave ministers the keys to absolve sins and give assurance of forgiveness. This isn’t just Catholic belief, but Lutheran and others with roots in the historic church.

God gave ministers to assure you of forgiveness of your sins.
In this kind of exchange it’s refreshing to see two adults chatting about profound spiritual matters. The best we can hope for is, these interchanges of ideas, will be backed up by serious prayer. Blitzie 123 can we all agree that the Catholic Church is the church that wrote the Holy Bible
James Brahm the Bible was written by the apostles of Jesus Christ. The early believers were all Jews who believed in their messiah Jesus Acts 2. The Catholic Church was started by the emperor Constantine in 325 ad when he accepted Jesus as an extra god That’s why we have all the pagan statues and relics which are forbidden in Exodus 20, All Catholics and Protestants need to receive their free gift of forgiveness and salvation like Mary in Luke 1:46-48.
Matthew 10:16 (KJV)
16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
It was really good that he said that she needed to confess to Jesus and not to a priest. Jesus also said we are not to call anyone "father" except for our Heavenly Father. I hope that she received the gift of repentance and was born again.

Great prayer!
Thank you for posting this video of Anita. I've come across so many people online that think " If Roman Catholics love and worship Jesus, what's the problem? " The problem is the RCC doesn't have a saving gospel.
Sorry to break it to you, you got the gospel from the Catholic Church. The father of reformation, Martin Luther was a Catholic priest. Go figure.
@@carmensiekierke3579 amen, IT IS FINISHED! read your scriptures Lerian
No one comes to the Father except through Me." (John 14: 6)

I praise God for loving us and sent his son to die on the cross and pay for our sins! He deserves all the honor.
And I pray he continue letting you share the good news of the beautiful mesage, the gospel of Jesyscrist our Lord. Keep doing the good work.
Excellent technique. I would have felt very comfortable speaking with Mr. Harris.
(Like Peter denied the Christ or apostles (& Bartholomew) didn't believe in Christ's power of resurrection)
For us, Catholics the confession (or Reconciliation) is essential to live a holy (& innocent life), admitting we are sinful enough to end up in hell if we die that day. (because of our sins in mind & body, & our weak will & in temptations. (In our belief at least monthly confessions are recommended, but there are those who go weekly. Even Catholic priests & popes confess their sins to other priests)
Beautiful.

If you read the Bible and stop listening to what Protestant pastors tell you, you will see the real Gospel.
@@eugengolubic2186 ...right back at you !
@@eugengolubic2186 Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Anita...knows that through the Church and it's sacraments her life in Jesus will be restored. God has given everything to her and she knows He is waiting for her to turn towards Him. Trust in the Lord, and repent; turn back to Him with your free will say yes to God....and go and sin no more.
This guy is really good at finding Catholics who are either too polite to argue or who do not really know their faith. A Catholic who really knew their faith would never agree that the Sacrament of Reconciliation is not necessary. A Catholic who really knew their faith would never agree that putting your trust in Jesus is all you have to do. We also have to be obedient to his teachings.
You already know the protestant mantra is "the gospel of Jesus Christ according to ME".
