Everything that he said is 100% accurate. I was raised in Roman Catholicism, in a very strict home. I left the Catholic church in my teens and made the choice to follow Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I sensed from a very young age that everything I was being told by the Catholic church and my Catholic School teachers, was not the truth. I know that that was the Holy Spirit nudging me toward a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Praise God, I'm saved from the eternal damnation of hell, and I'm going to heaven when I die. All glory to God. 🕊️

@@vickihogan8207 oh my goodness. I'm so sorry. That's heartbreaking. 💔😔 I've never dealt with a situation, similar to yours. If it's your husband that you're referring to, I would just keep on living your life for the Lord, just like you always have. Don't change what you're doing, unless the Lord specifically leads you to. I've learned the hard way that you can't convince someone to change their mind or their heart. It only pushes them further away from the Lord. Only Jesus Christ himself, can do that. Seek the Lord, by fervent prayer and fasting, and he'll show you how to handle this situation. That's the most important thing you can do. Get out of God's way, and let Him take complete control of your words, your actions, your attitude, and watch what happens. It won't happen overnight. God moves in his own time. Be patient. And as God's word says, win that person to Christ, without a word. Stay in God's word, no matter how discouraged you might become. Let nothing get in the way, if spending time with the Lord, every day. I'm praying for you.

Harry Waddington I was raised in Roman Catholic family. I grow up knowing that Jesus died for me but never really understood the importance of it. I never understand the Bible. I tried to be a good person but still feel far from God until at the age of around 23-34, God enlightened me with the truth by sending people to help me know Him more. Then I finally understand the importance of Jesus’ birth, death and resurrection. He is the only way to Almighty Father. I surrendered my heart to Jesus. By His grace I am saved. Now I am doing good works not to earn salvation, Jesus did it already for me but because He changes my heart and out of my gratitude to His amazing love.

Nowhere in the bible does it show anything remotely close to RCC ceremonies and the majority of things they teach. I know I used to be Catholic.

Read and pray to figure out the prophecies of Daniel 2, 7, 9 along with Revelation 11, 12, 13, 17, 18.
The books are a puzzle and the pieces and symbols are found throughout the entire bible but a lot is between Daniel and Revelation.

If 80% of this country was truly Christian, I doubt this country would be the way it is. So, they "identify" that way because someone, like a parent, only told them, without really passing on any belief of the Bible, Jesus or what He did.

Clearly a loving warning for all! Let's all pray for her and those around us who need to hear the simple message of the gospel. The simplicity of the cross is so reassuring, to know salvation is a gift, takes the burden off of us. Thank you Jesus for your sacrifice so we may have salvation.

She gave the right answer as she needs to repent and confess her sins John 20:23. Also Jesus said go and sin NO MORE.....that is also why we need to confess because the spirit is strong but the flesh is indeed weak....when we repent we confess and reconcile with God....Amen.
Confession in the Roman Catholic tradition is not Christian, there are no priests in the Church. Everyone is subject to Jesus Christ, not any man, no matter what he calls himself. There is not any hierarchy like the Vatican and the Papacy teach. Read Revelation 13:1-10, 17 & 18, these are all talking about the Roman Catholic Church, then see if you want to be a part of Jesus Christ or the Papacy? You cannot have both.

Love helps people no matter how painful it might be to hear it. The Words that we have from God have been brought forth with thousands of proofs that it came from the Church and the Apostles. You can denigrate the Creator who came in the flesh to save us, but those who believe the lies you spread will pay a heavy price. There is a life, an eternal life, to gain through Jesus Christ alone, you can reject it, but I am telling you that whatever you believe, it is error. He gave us these Words so we, with the Holy Spirit as our guide in what is Truth and what is error, can walk in the way of Truth. To reject Jesus Christ is to reject life Himself.

It's wrong how he slanders the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church was founded by Jesus, He told us "Upon this rock I will build my Church" he didn't create all of these Protestant churches or the idea that faith alone can save you, misled people did...Protestants broke away from the Church, God did not make their churches. I also want to add in that Catholics do not worship Mary. She is like any of us, a human, but a human who has a better connection with God then we do. When we say the Hail Mary one of the lines is: "Holy Mary Mother of God PRAY for us sinners now and at the hour of our death" We do not ask her to save us, we ask to be prayed for. Now in the Our Father: "GIVE us this day our daily bread and FORGIVE us our trespasses" we do not ask to be saved by Mary we ask for God to save us. Now you may think, "Well what about the statues?" We have statues of great American leaders, athletes, politicians, Mary is more revered than any of them, so why wouldn't we have a statue of the one person in all of history who never committed a single sin? You may also say "Why do you kneel to statues of her?" We see that the perfection in her is a result of the grace and love of God and that we should be respectful to her grace and perfection, for example when someone in a baseball game gets hurt, the teammates will kneel as a sign of respect towards them. Is that seen as idolatry? No, so what is the difference? Now had Mary not been blessed by God or an object like "Buddha" it would be idolatry.
All churches can be traced back to the Catholic church which Jesus started. I believe he got mad at the phrases when they acted holier then though. Catholics are Christians Christians are any one that believe Jesus is our Lord and Savior. Catholic is the branch or Church. I personally don't like when people call our church a cult it is not. I dont believe Christians should behave that way. There's already too much evil in the world, let's not pull apart fellow Christians.

To answer on Mary, she never sinned, she had the free will to...but because she was born without original sin she was made "The New Eve" and was able to decide whether she would go down Eve's path of eating the apple or to do what God asked of her in carrying our Lord in her. Now about the praying, we adk for her to pray for us... In the Hail Mary we say "Holy Mary Mother of God PRAY for us sinners now...." in the memorare: "Never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, IMPLORED thy help or sought they INTERCESSION was left unaided" in the Salve Regine: "... Turn then most gracious ADVOCATE...) Now if we look at the "Our Father": "Hallowed be THY name, THY kingdom come, THY will be done" so you see in the prayers to Mary we are simply asking for her to pray to us just as we would any other human. Now look at the word "Prithee" it is a term used to make a respectful request to someone. I appreciate you writing, thank you.
@CALEB ALVAREZ In the Bible it says that Mary was full of grace. Catholic theologians over time have interpreted this to mean that she was born without sin. There is no Biblical evidence that I 'am right, but God didn't give us scripture so that we would instantly be given the answer. It's the same way with a blind man who Jesus healed....He had him wash his eyes in the river to be healed. God gave us our minds so that we could further interpret what he says in the Bible. I respectfully believe that Protestants take the Bible too much in a "If the Bible doesn't say it, it isn't true". If all we need is the Bible to understand what God is telling us, why has Earth been blessed with countless great and wise thinkers?
Once again... would you not ask a friend of yours to pray for you before you go into surgery? It's the same with Mary, so why not ask the person who carried God in her womb to pray to God for your intentions?
Now, the term "Church" can be applied to either the Catholic Church or people who believe in Christ to be God. The Catholic Church was founded by Jesus followers, he told Peter that upon him he would build his Church. So far as I know Protestants don't recognize Saints, this would include Peter. Martin Luther, the man who created Protestantism was a Catholic Priest who for some reason changed his mind and decided that the Catholic Church was wrong. He was excommunicated. This happened in 1572, 1500 years after Jesus' death. This shows that the rock "Peter" had created Gods church, the Catholic Church.

Ana R Jesus founded a church and that church has lasted and has been protected because he said the gates of hell will not prevail against it (Matthew16:18) he gave an authority that allows doctrine to be bound on heaven and earth (Matthew 16:19). And Baptist’s whether they are nondenominational Baptist’s, fundamentalist Baptist’s, etc. Teach a definition of being born again which is unbiblical and is merely made up. We are born again and regenerated through baptism because being born again is through water and spirit .

Catholicism is created by Jesus and nobody questioned it for the first 1,500 years. then, for the last 500 years there came different denominations. i will say there are so many misinformed ppl about the Catholic church!! just the fact that Catholicism is Jesus’s pure word and that denominations came off of it because the ppl who started it disagreed with what Jesus taught should be alarming and eye-opening in itself. please, i urge you to look at reliable sources for the Catholic church. please. God said to test the spirit to see if it is from him. He also said a good tree never brings forth bad fruit, and a bad tree never brings forth good fruit. Let’s apply. Is the catholic church’s fruit good or bad, more specifically is the fruit from the pope good or bad? I would say and this is my opinion that the fruit of Catholicism is bad. There are some truth in what they teach but still the fruit is bad.
Jesus didn’t bring religion he is the way, so don’t be part of a denomination or religion be part of Jesus
Dymphna Lynn catholicism is not scriptural at all I was catholic but when I seriously pursued Jesus I realized that the Bible tells us Jesus tells us we must die to self repent for our sins ( not talk to a man called father which is against scripture) and Jesus then gives us His Holy Spirit When we do that and stop trying to be good but be in Him completely we can see scripture without blinders on! We can see also by doing research that paganism was brought into the Roman Catholic Church by Constantine around 300 so even if it was once started by peter that is what they tell us it’s paganistic at its core! Any part of the mass has pagan symbols and rituals also worshipping of dead popes literally keeping their corpses and people wearing out the feet of a statue of peter from kissing it! The prayers to mary the idolatry of worship to her is an abomination! The catholic church has killed millions of christians because they would not take in their man made religious rites it truly is evil and it is time to ask God to show you Its a religion that is not of the Lord Jesus Christ and that’s who we are called to not a church not a denomination but to Him and Him only! I was raised in a Catholic home & went to Catholic schools until I graduated from high school. I learned plenty of catechism & church doctrine, but very little Bible. What never made sense to me...why would I have to go to purgatory to pay for my sins if Jesus paid for them on the cross? Wasn’t His sacrifice enough? And how could I possibly add to what He had already done? So after high school I started reading the Bible on my own & discovered that there was absolutely nothing about purgatory in the Bible! Plus I learned Truth for myself for the first time. I held up the Truth to what I had learned in Catholic schools & was very surprised to find that the “traditions” that the Catholic Church taught didn’t line up with Scripture. I would encourage you to do the same. Ask God to reveal His Truth to you as you read. I pray that your eyes would be opened to see what Jesus did on your behalf & may you discover hope for your future. I’m praying for you.

Funny you mention a warning to Catholics when my Priest said exactly what you have just said at his Homily a few weeks back when we heard the narrow door parable in the Gospel of Luke. We do know Jesus is the only way to God and we do repent of our sins.

What you need to do is read your bible and plead to God to change your heart (to save you), and thus serve Him with gladness. Personally I was a Catholic serving every sunday in whats called the alter. I knew the mass by heart. I want to say that Jesus never came to create Catholisim neither any other religion. He came to create desciples that look like him, Jesus never prayed to Mary nor put Peter as the head of the church. Faith in the Catholic church is based on traditions of man and teachings of the popes, verify Paul letters with the mass and you will find loads of problems
The last supper Jesus said do this in rememberance and not to crucify Christ every Sunday(check the letter of Hebrew), Prayers to Mary and other saints is pure idolatry breaking exodus 20 ten commandment which is basic Jesus teaching.

23)Many claim that the King James’ Version of the bible is the correct bible to use. They also claim that their faith is not man-made. Who was King James? What authority did he have to decide what books should be included in the bible? Isn’t it problematic that the KJV bible is named after a man who lived over 1500 years after Christ?

If you accept that faith without works is dead, and presumably will not save (or does dead faith save according to protestants ?) you need works to be saved, even (by logical extension) from a "faith alone" perspective. It seems that according to the passage above, works are a vital component of faith.
@lrenturn Ephesians 2 states that they are saved by faith and not by works. However, exact definitions are necessary. If by faith you mean simply believing that God exists and that Jesus is His Son, even that He died on the cross for humanity's sins - just the fact of believing this does not seem to me to be what is meant by faith. Forgive my ignorance of the exact passage, but doesn't it say somewhere that "even the demons believe this"?
By contrast, the type of faith encouraged by scriptures is one that bears fruit of good works, such as in the above passage in James.
Good works alone will not save. But they are an inherent part of the faith that does save.
The thief on the cross performed the noblest good work he could in his particular state of being: humble repentance and proclamation of Jesus as Lord. There is no objective checklist of good works one has to have accomplished to go to heaven. Each to his own ability.

There are a few problems with Sola Scriptura. As we have seen even from our short discussion, phrases and words and paragraphs can be interpreted differently by different people. There are so many nuances that are always added by a reader of any text, depending on his views, prior knowledge, knowledge of context, etc.... So who is right when two disagree on an interpretation?
- is it necessary for salvation for one to be sufficiently learned and versed in Scripture to comprehend it all? If so, what about the illiterate?
- who compiled the Scriptures into the Bible?
- why did the Protestants remove some books after 1500 years of Church history? Was the Holy Spirit somehow asleep during that time, allowing the faithful to err so grievously for so long?
@lrenturn I am not Catholic, I am officially Lutheran, but am considering converting to Catholicism, mainly because more and more the idea of Protestantism seems fallacious to me. This still leaves the door open to Orthodoxy, too, as the Churches were linked at first. But the Orthodox Churches seem fractured as well...
I believe the Catholic Church is under severe attack from without and within, but the faith and apostolic succession remain intact.

@Alec Hammond Quite right, Alec. No man-made institution save anybody. But the Catholic Church is not a man-made institution. It was founded by Jesus Christ and is His mystical body (1 Corinthians 12:12) and His mystical bride (Revelation 21:2).
We must understand that Jesus and the Church are one and the same----tge Church is the extension of Jesus throughout the world and throughout history. Jesus saves. The Church saves. The Church's sacraments save. It's all the same thing. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and the Catholic way is the way, the truth, and the life. It's all the same thing.
Once upon a time three Catholics went to Confession. Afterwards someone asked all three, who forgave you your sins? The first Catholic said that God did. The second one said Jesus did. The third one said the priest did. Who was correct? All three! God forgives sin (to the truly repentant), Jesus is God, and the priest has the supernatural power, given to him by Christ at his ordination, to forgive sins in Christ's name.

I am a born again Christian, I have repented of my sins all this back in 2015, God changed my life and I still ask why when I didnt deserve it. I was rebelling against God, I was doing everything contrary to what the bible says, I was living for this world and my fleshly desires. God put me in a Catholic church and my first bible that I read was given to me by Jehovah's witness, after I came to God God gave me the craft of photography in my life put me in a movie, radiow show, almost every tv station here in Chicago, and list goes on and on. It's not about religion it's about relationship with God, hurts me when I see anything against Catholics I still go to a catholic church I am there for one reason and one reason only to praise and worship God only. I have a clean understanding that without repentance and acceptance of Jesus Christ there is no eternal life.

Faithful Catholics have to respect them, because the Church is the pillar and ground of the truth.

@@GrahameGould Not at all, I just prefer to read Jesus in context. After Jesus says we are born again, he then clarified his statement by saying we are born of the water and spirit. Jesus was just baptized himself and then a few sentences later he continues to baptize others. Christians for over 1500 years took that sentence as baptism. Nowhere in the Bible does it tell us that that this statement means what Ray is saying it means. I love Ray though and I look to him as an example of how to interact with others.
