I don't know if you still have the pup...but...her skin looked a bit like she might have whats called Demodex Mange and is easily treated once a skin scrape is done at the vets office. (Prior to dipping, the dog must be bathed with a benzoyl peroxide shampoo to help remove oil and cellular debris. Many dogs with generalized demodectic mange require between 6 and 14 dips provided at 2 week periods) I would also recommend having a fecal sample done to check for intestinal parasites and she should be on a heartworm preventative (transmitted by mosquito's)...if you have not kept the pup, sorry for the long message ;/
Hi, my name is Dave and I used to own Calypte, which I kept in Phuket Thailand. This boat kept me and my family safe during the Tsunami where we were anchored off Patong Beach. We ended up going up the wave and through a few instances of good luck we survived. Look at the stained glass and if there is still a small panel missing that was caused when the door ripped off going up then down the 40ft wave!!! You couldn't be in safer hands with Calypte!!

When my partner and I built our trimaran 3 years ago we could've used betterhelp! 😉 Building a boat from scratch on a shoestring budget in the middle of winter isn't for the faint of heart. So far we've only broken, well pretty much everything.... including dismasting twice. But we've since made other trimaran friends and learned that lots of breakage early on is normal!

We just got a dog last year. We don’t have a boat but have 2 kids. It’s limited us to how long we can be away and always second guessing of getting him.

I’ve got a 1974 Westsail 32. I love sailing every mile in her. Although sheeting angles are horrible, she will sail 6.5 knots in 12 knots or more of wind on a close reach. She will still sail 2-3.5 knots in 2-6 knots of wind with only a 95% headsail as I did the other day. It only takes knowledge of wind vs sail to make it work and I enjoy it. Add in a code zero on its own furler and you have a setup for any occasion. Older vintage boats are hidden gems these days and I’m sure you guys appreciate that. Hope Chucho pulls through.
Huge respect from me for not disrespecting an old sailing boat. Your patients and endurance in the new boat build is commendable. Enjoy the adventure called Life, every second counts towards memories made as we treasure the good one's. Remember you(me too) are in a better place than 80% of people out there. It's leaning much more towards 40 than 30 feet and you guys keep on going on about 30;) Dock that next to "modern" 40 footer and it actually appears bigger...how I know...because we actually build one from the scratch but extended it "a bit" on all dimensions. About needing a wind before it gets moving is totally true...those are heavy ladies. Then again you don't need to reef with every gust like with newer boats which are designed to carry full sails at 7-8 kn of wind. Reversing those things in tight spots can be an adventure on it's own too, especially if ain't got no bow thruster
Omg the dog melted my heart and made me wanna cry 😭😭 they’re so loyal and all they want is love. I couldn’t imagine anyone not wanting her. This makes me sad to think if she imprints on you guys and then having to find another home but so beautiful of you to take her in. I have 2 fur babies and they’re my everything so it just makes me emotional to see dogs in need. ❤❤ love you guys as always a massive fan!

No dogs on boats. I had to jump in to save one who went overboard in a busy inlet. We almost got run over many times. Very strong current, it was a major episode!

That older boat makes me nostalgic for the Catalina we had in the late 80's when we were young marrieds. We had so much fun before life got too serious. I applaud your family's adventurous spirit-go out there and live life to the fullest as long as you can.

That older boat makes me nostalgic for the Catalina we had in the late 80's when we were young marrieds. We had so much fun before life got too serious. I applaud your family's adventurous spirit-go out there and live life to the fullest as long as you can.
