I remember seeing these kinds of liveries in GDL, mainly the Star Alliance multi-airline styles. As a kid, I was always like "Those planes must be going _places,_ unlike my flight which is just going home."
They all have their own reasons why I like them. If I had to pick one, then I would go OneWorld. It allows the airline to maintain their brand identity through retaining their main livery but with OneWorld lettering. The reasons why I like each livery listed below. - OneWorld allows the airline to maintain their own brand identity on the rest of the aircraft. - Star Alliance because it’s a rather simple livery. - Skyteam because the colour palette works well on just about any aircraft.
When KLM and Northwest Airlines formed a Transatlantic Alliance, it had a special livery. The left side of the aircraft was in KLM livery and the right side in Northwest Airlines livery.
I fly Sky Team, but to me there is just something really sharp about the One World livery without losing so much of the brand recognition via the standard painted tail.
A fair bit of years ago, before getting passionate about aviation, I had no idea what an alliance was, but I was really concerned when I was supposed to board an Alitalia flight, and at the gate there was this silver Skyteam thing instead of my usual plane 😂
I work for a oneworld partner; the amount of times I received calls about passengers not knowing where their gate was, because they bought a BA flight from AA and thought they were flying AA loll. You’re not alone, don’t worry!
You didn't mention how Singapore did not paint their tailfin with the SA livery at first instead retaining their own logo. But they did eventually put the SA star on their tail fin but with an all white fuselage. Now Star alliance has 3 types of livery - A standard livery (most members), an all white livery (SIA) and the all black livery (ANZ).
To be honest, I prefer the SA Livery on Singapore Airlines 777-300 (9V-SYE) to be the standard SA Livery. Perhaps it's because the livery looks quiet familiar with Oneworld livery, so eventually they decided to change it all white.
China Southern's take on the Skyteam livery is my favorite as it displays the company's complete name (in Mandarin and English) and the logo on it's tailfin alongside the large 'Skyteam' logo And I'm proud to be the owner of the China Southern's Skyteam model plane pf the A330 and 777-300ER
Sky team just because! But seriously Delta has some of the best service that airlines offer even on domestic flights and I like that they have partnered with some really interesting airlines like Aeroflot to name one 👍🏽
I have two favorites, Star Alliance and SkyTeam. Star alliance because it has my Airlines in it and I love the concept, it's superb. SkyTeam because I love livery's silver body and the ribbon is so beautiful.
I flew on Eva air star alliance livery it look amazing, when I went from Bangkok to Amsterdam, nothing special inside the aircraft, and yeah I just like the normal Eva air livery or the hello kitty one
I flew on Delta Airlines tail number N3761R, which is one of two 737-800s in the Skyteam livery. Really cool livery, but up close, that plane’s paint was looking super old and tired. I bet it would look amazing in the same livery with brand new paint. Other than the cool livery, it’s just any old 2001 Delta 737-800.
I find the One World livery looks best. Star alliance looks like a flying billboard and the sky team font is very bland at least to me. That ribbon looks terrible and makes you wonder what that is. One Worlds having shown the airlines tail brands better because that’s what the public recognizes
Interesting topic and for the Korean Air logo jet B777 its HL7733 which has the Presitige Class Plus seats before reconfiguration. For Star Alliance the SQ logo jets retain their airline tails.
Lol the story behind the star alliance livery is that Spanair had dumped an old airbus on SAS and we needed it to bring some stranded passengers home so we just foiled it with SA to get it airborne. And we then had people asking us if they could use it for slip in planes for SA routes
My favourite Allince livery is the Air New Zealand one different and clean also air New Zealand doesnt currently have a international aircraft with the star alliance livery the a321 that has it only flys domestically
Nice to know, In my mind I assumed that those planes were assigned to hub airports as replacement aircrafts in case of needs for repair or to mitigate delays, but as it's not the case, at this point my issue is still unresolved: in case of major delay companies have aircrafts "kept warm" ready for service or how are handled those issues?
Star Alliance wins for me. This is for several reasons. 1. I’m a member. 2. 3 of my favorite carriers are part of the founding five. 3. They seem to be the most inclusive and understanding allowing Air New Zealand’s alternative take on the livery. My favorite 3 are Thai Airways, SAS and Lufthansa. As you may know Thai was once part owned by SAS. SAS is my home county’s national flag carrier 🇸🇪. But I have travelled more with Thai Airways in recent years. Lufthansa has excellent service excellent routes and operates the B747-400, B747-8 AND the A380 still! What’s not to love 😊
Easily Sky Team. Simple, but visible and pretty. Especially the ribbon at the back. I never see One World anyway. Only Star Alliance and Sky Team, and i pretty much only fly Sky Team, as i fly mostly from Europe.
Given Virgin has joined Sky Team. I hope they can keep the name and Flying icon on the nose. Perhaps given them a blue and silver outfit on their alliance livery.
I love the SkyTeam livery but I don't know why Aeromexico doesn't have any airplane wearing that painting since they retired all the airplanes that used to wear it, a Boeing 767-200ER, a E170 and a ERJ145 😢
Oneworld definitely It's more useful to spread that the airline is a part of oneworld, while the other two are basically just mobile advertisements. There isn't much personality.
why the need to market these alliances at all? i'd love to know the thinking behind these livery plans. were they supposed to promote more ticket sales between the airlines in an alliance? facts show most ticket sale decisions are based on price not airline allegiance. i'd love to know more.
Cause you're looking at it wrong. The benefit for joining an alliance is not for the airline's but for the passengers as with alliances, passengers can connected from one airlines to the other without buying multiple tickets. Also passengers can tastes other airlines lounges and it's perks With Star Alliances for example, I can fly from my home country in Indonesia to Istanbul, Johannesburg, Munich, and Panama City with 4 different airlines but only needed to bring one ticket 😎
I Fly Star Alliance but like the Skyteam Livery best, the Star alliance Kiwi livery is the best though they should have painted the engine cowlings too. Oneworld looks bland.
Unfortunately, Simple Flying author is only review about full service airlines fleet at the moment in this channel. MYAirline is a low cost carrier, so i don't think they want to make a video about LCCs fleet in the near future.
Correction: 08:02 should be August 29, 2022
ok
ok
Btw my fav livery is the Oneworld Livery as it also gives the carrier to keep their tail design
@@Not_a_JK OMG U ARE SO RIGHT with the other liveries, you can hardly tell what airline it is
I remember seeing these kinds of liveries in GDL, mainly the Star Alliance multi-airline styles. As a kid, I was always like "Those planes must be going _places,_ unlike my flight which is just going home."
otra persona de guadalajara :)
I like the oneworld one because it gives the airlines a little more flexibility to customize the livery with the tale of the aircraft.
They all have their own reasons why I like them. If I had to pick one, then I would go OneWorld. It allows the airline to maintain their brand identity through retaining their main livery but with OneWorld lettering. The reasons why I like each livery listed below.

When KLM and Northwest Airlines formed a Transatlantic Alliance, it had a special livery. The left side of the aircraft was in KLM livery and the right side in Northwest Airlines livery.
Concorde had a similar one with AF (or BA?) and SQ, one side each!
@@FrenchySam it was BA
Same happened with KLM and Viasa, it was beautiful!
Right 💯💯💯💯💯💯
I miss the old bowling shoe Northwest livery
sky team is my favorite due to the logo being visible on the rear of the aircraft which is something i really like. the silver is very unique as well.
I fly Sky Team, but to me there is just something really sharp about the One World livery without losing so much of the brand recognition via the standard painted tail.
I like the oneworld livery because they can put other livery to like Malaysia airlines for example 4:19 oneworld livery and negaraku livery combined
Same. It promotes the alliance while still celebrating the airline itself.
The Oneworld livery is just beautiful... And even more it was combined with the airberlin a330, that combination was just perfect.
i like all of them...but the star alliance is my favorite due to the air new Zealand livery!
Definitely prefer OneWorld. Allowing your alliance members to still retain their individual liveries is important.
There are only a few aircrafts with the special liveries not every
Sky team because of its sleek design and because of the airlines in that alliance.
What about the white star alliance planes from Singapore?
This is due to the idea of that SQ said that the black color livery doesn’t look harmonious with the color white.
A fair bit of years ago, before getting passionate about aviation, I had no idea what an alliance was, but I was really concerned when I was supposed to board an Alitalia flight, and at the gate there was this silver Skyteam thing instead of my usual plane 😂

Never been on board on a plane with an alliance livery, would really like to have this experience thoo
You didn't mention how Singapore did not paint their tailfin with the SA livery at first instead retaining their own logo. But they did eventually put the SA star on their tail fin but with an all white fuselage.

Croatia Airlines also have all white star alliance livery (9A-CTO)
I like the star alliance it’s nice and clean
Me too
Star Alliance liveries is my favorite and shows a clean and modern design
The Sky Team alliance livery is my favorite.
My preference is the oneworld liverly. Partly because I frequent oneworld, but I like it that each airlines were allowed to keep it's tail fin logo.
Skyteam has most beautiful livery
True
Have you seen Air Tahiti Nui and Azerbaijan Airways? Amazing design
F off. Star Alliance is better
i like star alliances more
I agree. The sky team gray one looks the best
Awesome video. Very informative. Keep up the good work.
I like star alliance, it’s very simple
I loved sky team one because they look like silver and has cool ribbon in the back
China Southern's take on the Skyteam livery is my favorite as it displays the company's complete name (in Mandarin and English) and the logo on it's tailfin alongside the large 'Skyteam' logo
And I'm proud to be the owner of the China Southern's Skyteam model plane pf the A330 and 777-300ER
As a New Zealander, the Air New Zealand’s Star alliance black livery is my favourite! 😍
I like the black star alliance livery, i think its creative
Sky Team has the best livery, followed by Star Alliance and of course One World has the simplest livery among the three.
Simplicity is of course everything
Singapore Airlines has a different Star Alliance iteration with white fuselage and tail.
Yeah and as a perk it has star alliance titles but retains the Singapore airlines tail fin design
Without a doubt, the unique black Star Alliance Air New Zealand as it's our national airline!!!
I like the oneworld livery because it's simple.
Well what’s so complicated about the star alliance
@@top5betterfact477 Th star alliance covers the whole plane including the tail. One world has just the text
Looks siiick 🔥🔥
Sky team just because! But seriously Delta has some of the best service that airlines offer even on domestic flights and I like that they have partnered with some really interesting airlines like Aeroflot to name one 👍🏽
Skyteam is the best livery by far ✈️

The Royal Air Maroc One World livery is awesome!
2:31 those couldn't be further from being "bold letters" - that's an extremely thin font...
Sky Team is my favorite ❤. I love the silver and blue, as well as their logo.
I flew on Eva air star alliance livery it look amazing, when I went from Bangkok to Amsterdam, nothing special inside the aircraft, and yeah I just like the normal Eva air livery or the hello kitty one

I love the one world livery

My favourite Allince livery is the Air New Zealand one different and clean also air New Zealand doesnt currently have a international aircraft with the star alliance livery the a321 that has it only flys domestically
I saw the Lufthansa Star Alliance livery at DXB.
Sky Team Livery is my favorite 💙💙💙💙🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
Much like most other parts of OneWorld, their livery seems really half assed.
SQ 9V-SYE 773 also had a modified star alliance livery with retaining SQ logo in its tailfin (not star alliance logo)
2:32 "in bold letters" haha. thats helvetica ultralight, exactly the opposite of bold
The requirements aren’t enough you have airlines like Hainan without even a working site

They were talking about a321 NEOs back in 2009?
The best alliance in the world.
Would love to see Virgin paint their 339 or a35k in Skyteam livery
Air Europa is in Sky team too!
I love star alliance 🎉
I hope the Value Alliance of world's low cost carriers do the same 😊
Star Alliance is my favorite

Skyteam has the best design
Aeromexico doesn’t have any planes painted in the livery as of February 2023
Air New Zealand made that livery look so sexy
8:40 “Black is embedded in New Zealand’s national identity and worn with pride”
Welp good luck flying to tropical countries and getting a birdstrike
Where's Garuda indo and Singapore?
Čsa Czech airlines doesnt have skyteam livery now😢
#skyteamisthebest
SAS will later leave Star Alliance to join Skyteam Alliance
That New Zealand Star Alliance colour scheme is amazing.
Vanilla Alliance is nice.
Next do special liveriesthat isnt alliance themed...
I have worked for 3 star alliance airlines, but I would say skyteam looks nicer.
United air Star Alliance lively ❤😊
Black colour increases temperature of the plane abnormal
People thought sky team was fake because it was made APRIL 1 2009
I used to like open skies
Not me thinking this video was about alliance rivelries 😂
Not only have i seen a star Alliance aircraft I have flown on one too it was from Aegean airlines 😂😂
Oneworld definitely
It's more useful to spread that the airline is a part of oneworld, while the other two are basically just mobile advertisements. There isn't much personality.

Star Alliance
Air India is a star alliance member
Star alliance because it is on the 747 and A340
Long live the Star Alliance
Star alliance due to the look
Aeromexico is the only airline without any Skyteam livery aircraft. Shame!
Since my favorite aircraft is Qatar so one world is a nice livery for me
One World 🌎
OneWorld because it’s not overbearing
I Fly Star Alliance but like the Skyteam Livery best, the Star alliance Kiwi livery is the best though they should have painted the engine cowlings too. Oneworld looks bland.
For me it is SkyTeam
Why does the air New Zealand plane have a german flag
Skyfalldown alliance..😊
Star alliance

Skyteam, duh
