10 years ago I could buy a whole winter wardrobe at the thrifts for $60.00: coat, gloves, shoes, hats, sweatshirts/sweaters, cords, socks, thermal underwear, scarf... Seems unreal now.
i source specifically at the bins, I have to stay from 8am - 3pm 3-4 days a week. I try to list 20 items a day. You have to put in the full time effort for fulltime results.
It is totally worth it, but all bins are not created equal but its worth a shot. I need to source at the bins for 1-2 hours to find 30-50 items that actually meet my metrics to list on eBay.
i really appreciate this video. I shop at goodwill for my clothes and i can find the stuff you mentioned fairly easily. I sell on poshmark though. Ebay customers like to rent my inventory for 30 days then they file a item not as described and I up paying for return shipping..no thanks. I stick to poshmark.
I recently found many of the items in this video!!! Loro piana women’s silk striped top. $6.99 (This is in podunk Alabama lol.👍🏻👍🏻). Has some stains on the hem. If I can’t get the stains out or to decent level to sell - I can take it back. I spray stains with a combo of Shout and Krud Cutter. The combo works extremely well for me. I found a loro piana j crew men’s suit at the Birmingham bins under $5 for both pieces. Still need to list it. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
First time watching your channel. I've been a reseller since 2016 but learned some new brands. Also, going to order vanish. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Fair play to you, I'm just learning how to sell clothing. and brand names, which clothes to sell it gives you a headache. Love your dedication to your channel and viewers. Thanks for your time and effort to help us Newbies out . Nod UK
I appreciate the support my friend thank you. Yes the never ending pursuit of learning brands... it just takes some time to develop a good catalog of brands that are in abundance in your area.
Hello! Your channel came up on my UA-cam. Thank you for the video! Will you explain how to tell vintage? I am struggling with this aspect in sourcing. Thank you again!
Welcome to the channel! Thank you! Yeah so general rule is single stitching around cuff and hem line. Paper tags made in USA, also look by the graphic of the shirt if there is one and usually there will be a date there by the logo.
How do you go about shipping? Do you list the items as non-returnable? Or do you offer returns? I have mostly wondered about how to ship and if sellers offer a return. It seems like dealing with returns would be a major headache. I was considering getting into reselling as "something to do" I am retired and bored beyond measure
You can do this Kathy no problem! Returns are part of business unfortunately, but it should never be the reason to not do something. Get started and see how it goes. Let me know if you have questions.
Returns for many of us are around 1%. Although a lot of us take a lot of photos, show measurements so that decreases the likelihood of returns. I do free returns as I sell more on eBay by doing so.
@BeauJohnson1 I couldn't find the exact vest, mine is nwt, and sold comps were between 50 and 80, retails for over 200. And it's Ted Baker, and only a 25% sell through but couldn't pass it up for 4 bucks lol
Thank you, unfortunately it’s 1x too big! 🙂 but I’ll definitely continue watching your channel. I appreciate that you’re willing to help people start a business!

How do you clean jackets and blazers? Also, do you hold on to fall and winter or do you list during the summer too? I have sold more winter than summer in April and May 😂
I try to avoid any blazers that need cleaning so I make sure I check them well before purchasing. I list winter items all year long. Its always cold somewhere. Thanks for watching!
@@BeauJohnson1 Thanks, this helps alot. I have held on to some pretty cool winter clothing because I wasn't sure if listing in the summer was a good idea. Great content btw👍😊
Hey there! How do you know or how can you tell the vivid linen is a man’s shirt? So many times I find women’s things in the men’s section so I have to be careful.
@@BeauJohnson1 are you doing any kind of prep beforehand (steaming/washing etc.)? Seriously, 20 listings in 30 minutes is amazing! Takes me forever and I'm not even doing 20 lol.
Goodwill has forgotten the thrift store business strategy. It's VOLUME. Give me free stuff and see what happens. Fire sale EVERYTHING. Are you a reseller? Punch card discount and I want your number so I can move good stuff when it comes in faster. I would also do Whatnot runs. Im dumping NOTHING. Selling it ALL. LOL
Awesome info thanks, I actually wonder if Im pricing my items too low, when you talk about what price you'll be listing it for. Do you have a rule for the quality of an item before you purchase? Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
What crazy is Goodwill is pricing things so high that they aren’t getting purchased so they end up in the bins
Yup last week I counted 6 full bins of items straight from the retail store. Lol who is paying $39 for used womens hudson jeans?

@Robert1546_Sea yeah, not counting listing and shipping though.
💯

What is the STR on the items you are showing in this video?

That is amazing that you have filled your warehouse by yourself!!!!
Thank you Karen, its been almost a 4 year process. But now I'm trying to shrink the store down from 9k listings to 5k.
Are you listing your jackets in the summer months or do you stash them and list them when the weather starts to cool.
I just list them all year. Its always cold somewhere. Sold a few jackets this weekend!
Chico's Travelers line sells well...
Thank you for all the free information you are willing to share. ,also you a very hardworking man. God bless you.
Your welcome & I appreciate the support!
My first experience with dovetail I found it new with tags and sold for 70 within a week. I now love dovetail lol
Love that brand, sold in two days for full asking price of $69.95. Dovetail for life!
Another keyword on the Chico’s jacket: patchwork print.
I really appreciate those extra keywords! Thank you

I just bough a jar of Vanish. Had a pair of jeans that had faint yellow stains. Soaked them for an hour and ta-da, those stains were gone.
Love that stuff, I under estimated it at first but I found that soaking for at least 1 hour really helps get those tough stains out.
Thanks for the tip
First time watching. Keep up the good work.
Thank you my friend, you too!
I found a Ted baker or Tom baker suit vest the other day. Comps look pretty good. One of the better items I've found recently
Great finds! Let me know what they sell for!

Is your black chambray top with the suns and moons on it still available?
Sure is.

Can you do a video on using the Vanish on stains? I bought it but it doesn’t seem to be working for me
Yeah I will do a short video in the future on how I go about getting the stains out with this product. Thank you

I see the stain remover like, thank you. It is not "gold" does that matter or did they change the name I wonder.
Nah its ok, I see they have a new bottle that is the same exact product. Ill be making a video about this stain remover soon.

I’ve been a seller for 20 years and sold a handful of clothing, just can’t get myself to do clothing lol
Yeah it is defiantly not for everyone lol. Thanks for watching!
Do you accept best offers? And do you promote any of your listings? New watcher.
Welcome! Yeah I accept best offers and promote 99% of my items at 10%. The only things I do not promote are the higher priced items 300-500 dollars.
Your wear house is big 😅
Items in North Carolina are horrible.
Found a balenciaga shirt today for $3
Lets GOOOO, great find! Let me know when it sells!
No wonder you need all that space behind you… you are buying really slow sellers
