Thanks for dropping by and saying hello. Jason loves his, You'll have to let us know how you get on with it. Look forward to your thoughts. We should be out this weekend as well. I know Jason will be in his Amok, I might give the Basha bridge hammock a go.
Thanks for taking the time to pop by and comment and I'm reallypleased you found the video useful. I'll make sure Jason (the guy in the video) knows you appreciated it also.
@@billyaitken1713 It would be possible to flip it and I have seen people do it when first trying it out. What you need to do is get your centre of balance right and this will never happen.

The hammock belongs to my mate Jay, who's recently starte his own channel. If you nip over to Jays Wild Camping ( ua-cam.com/channels/JIOEihxz3MA5VGWvNS2j_A.html ) he'd love to hear from you and I'm sure he'll have an answer. (spoiler alert - he loves it :D)
Very interesting, thank you. But it looks as if any tarp one might use would have to be VERY large to give proper coverage, and be difficult to set up effectively. What size tarp are you using for this, please, and how and where do you anchor it? Cheers.
😆 Thanks for popping by and saying hello. Jason's a seasoned pro now, and hops in and out with relative ease. I climbed in for the first time just after we finished filming. It wasn't massively difficult, but it did take a while for me to adjust myself into a position where I didn't think I'd suddenly go spinning out backwards. Its definitely not as easy in and out as a standard hammock. I'll get back out with Jason and we'll do a short follow up on "ease of use" over the next week or so. Have fun and stay safe - Andy
@@Wijkkie Hi Jack, the biggest problem I found was adjusting to the way you lay, it is very important that you find the (sweet spot) it’s all about getting the balance. Once you have found the balance your good to go. As a tip if your bum is just under the ridgeline, you won’t be far off. Hope this helps.
Great vid guys, I bought the larger version when it cam out a few years ago, I loved the concept but what an absolute ton of faff it was to get in and out, getting it level and adjustments, it had to go and did! I Replaced with warbonnet blackbird xlc far superior product in my opinion. Keep up the good work on your channel atb wmm
Thanks for commenting. Funnily enough, I've just got back from filming an update so Jason could demo how he gets in and out. I'd not come across the War bonnet Blackbird so just googled it, looks like a nice piece of kit with a pretty decent flat lie.
Two sets of questions: 1. If it's difficult to get in and out of the AMOK, what do you recommend for a female who has to pee a lot at night? Is it easy to pee while lying in the hammock? Anyone tried this? 2. How do people stay warm when winter camping in the AMOK? There's no underquilt or overquilt. I'd appreciate suggestions.
Hi Dee, Sorry its taken so long to get back to you, I've been away. I'll have to defer this to Jason, but I beleve the the insulation from below is provided by the inflatable matress. And I know Jason had an extremly comfortable night below zero degrees on this camp ua-cam.com/video/uOKqhMpU-co/v-deo.html
Hi Dee, well you win the question of the week!!! Question 1 = I have never had a pee in the Amok, but I think I would be comfortable in turning to one side and using a bottle. As for our lady viewers I just could not answer the question sorry. (But once you have used it a few times its very easy to get in and out, practice makes perfect) Question 2 = the mattress that is needed to give the Amok its rigidity is rated to -18 so no need for an under quilt. I have used both a top quilt at -0 and sleeping bag at -1 I do find that a top quilt is better as it is easer to get in and out with it. Its just like getting in to bed at home really. Using a sleeping bag can be a little tricky. Hope this helps if not please ask and I will be happy to answer your questions.
Good review, informative. A bit difficult to find "reviews" for hammocks that aren't paid partnerships or pure adverts. 1 question, how tall are you? I'm 189cm and sick of buying shit I don't fit in
Hi TP i am 5'6" the Standard Draumr is up to 6'1" or 185 cm the XL is up to 6'11" or 210cm. thanks for the feed back, if you need and further help just ask. Jason

Thanks for popping by and taking time to comment, glad you enjoyed the vid. Jason loves it, and it is very comfortable. To be honest, I like a hammock for dossing around in, but I get a bit queasy after too long, and I toss and turn like the Tasmanian devil at night so I am happier on the ground. I did find the bridge hammock much more stable, but had a massive fail with it this weekend (spoiler alert - its too long). Not giving up on it just yet though 😂
1). You never showed getting in it. 2) zip that bug net up all they around once your in it. I’ve seen vids of guys getting so frustrated they pack it up and throw it away and go home.
Jay did film a follow up demonstrting the mount😀 but he's not edited it yet (mainly because i only re-discovered the footage yesterday). If you pop over to Jays wild camping, you'll see it when he puts it up. (I promise to send him the raw footage before the end of the week)
It would be possible to flip it and I have seen people do it when first trying it out. What you need to do is get your centre of balance right and this will never happen.

Clear & concise🤠👏👏👏. You've certainly cleared up a lot of the worries and questions I had about the design.
Its a lot more stable than it looks. There's a good shot of Jay with it in seat mode on the newest Dartmoor video at 16:20

Thinking of buying to use for a bed at home as well as outdoors, do you think it would take regular nightly use? Good clear review, thanks.
Not sure if I'd want to commit at that level! What are your thoughts @jason120870 ?
