Not sure what you mean, it's only Saturdays that they're too busy for you to go there. Just a reminder that this a guide for P3 FES not P3 Portable that just came out on steam and other platforms. I'm about to start playing it for the first time myself but it might just be a version difference.
In my first playtrough, normally did "Tartarus- night off- Tartarus" routine, unless the plot or tired thingy mess that up or certain character not being available that night. And during night offs and days without social links, I would use those for social stats grinding. I basically maxed out all the social stats by the end of August, early September. Since school social links during Summer is mostly Spend time events, not rank ups. 😅
I don't recall, if working was in Fes. But in Portable, if you work in Chagall, it gives you charm and courage stat points + up to 5k yens. While working in the Movies, normally is Charm and Courage, others Charm and Academics and up to 9k yens. Was mostly, what I used, since money is an issue early game and the police dude is very costly, making those early Elizabeth/Theodore quests mandatory for getting good gear and weapons early game. I assume if the shadows drop money aswell in P3Reload, that can fix the all issue of "money being a problem" in early game and without the "tired" mechanic, makes Tartarus like Mementos basically.
Yeah, part-time jobs were added in Portable to be more like P4 and give you more things to do at night. Chagall cafe is the only useful one though because it's available at night. It might be worth making a video about the differences between FES and Portable at some point.
In a recent replay I got the highest score on the July exam despite having Academics level 4. I didn't think this would be possible based on everything I've seen online, but it happened anyway.
Interesting, that also goes against every online source I've seen but it's not impossible I suppose. It would track if the first exam is Lv 3, then the second is 4, the final is 5 and accessing Mitsuru is level 6. I think that info comes from Penguin knight's old GameFAQs guide which I believe was based off translating an official Japanese guide from back in the day. Although it obviously could have a mistake in it. If anyone comes across a playthrough online that shows this being the case or can attest to this I'll go through a 20+ hour slog just to verify this. Thanks for letting me know Squid!
@@boxorileys Wish I'd recorded it. I wonder if it's tied to the number of questions answered correctly, since I got them all on that exam. I had maxed out academics by the third exam but missed a question since I don't like to use guides and still got the highest score, which I didn't expect. Maybe there is some leeway and it's a bit more forgiving than we have understood it to be.
@@yousquiddingme Yeah, always interesting to learn new things about a game this old. While not on the same level this reminds of how people learned of a way to revive Aerith in FFVII hidden by the devs a few year ago. Just little quirks and and things we just overlooked or made assumptions about.
@@boxorileysI never knew about the Aerith thing, that's pretty cool. Speaking of such weirdness, something else that's commonly spoken of online but which didn't track with my experience was how Aigis and the jealousy system interact. Every guide I saw said that she does not make other girls jealous, but based on my experience this isn't true. It's been a couple of weeks but it went something like this: Fuuka was a rank sufficient to get jealous, as was Mitsuru. 1. See Fuuka on day one. 60 day timer begins. 2. See Mitsuru on day two. Fuuka's timer drops to 45 days. 3. See Aigis on day three. Fuuka's timer shouldn't drop more than one day based on the information online, and should sit at 44. 4. See Mitsuru on day four. Fuuka's timer should sit at 29 days. 5. See Aigis on day five. Fuuka's timer should sit at 28 days. 6. Go to hang out with Fuuka...she's not there, because her social link has reversed. A bit irksome, because I lost out on getting rank 10 for all three despite my best efforts and planning ahead due to faulty information. It probably IS the case that Aigis herself doesn't get jealous, but spending time with Aigis absolutely affects other girls' jealousy timers.
In the middle of my first Persona 3 FES playthrough, currently riiight after the event on 10/5 if you know what I’m talking about (jeez… still digesting that.) I managed to max out my social stats back in August, but now it’s a matter of doing a run where I don’t be a cheating scumbag or I just max everything out
Un fortunatly, in FES there's no way to do all social links in one run and not be a bit of a cheater. But if it's your first run I wouldn't worry about that since it's almost impossible to max out all social links on your first run. Just hang out with who you find interesting or maybe unlocks an ultimate persona you want. I've got a couple of videos about the different social links if you need help finding them or the strategy for getting through as many as possible. Hope you're enjoying the game!
What's the best way to increase charm though I'm trying to do the devil social link but I didn't know I needed higher charm what's the best way to increase charm or is there another way to get that devil social link started???
Best way to fast track charm is go the Chagall Cafe every night and then go to the arcade and do the print club on Mon & Thur. You're going to need Lv 4 charm and then talk to Tanaka. He's going to "scam" you out of a total of 40,000 yen. I think it's 10,000 the first time and 30,000 the second. Once you do that the social link will automatically start when you talk to him. He'll then be in the mall on Tue & Sat at night. He's the only social link in the game where it literally doesn't matter what you say. It automatically ranks up every time you hang out with him. So don't worry about holding on to a Devil Persona.
Technically yes, but with the new part time jobs you can make a better schedule to level up faster. When I played through for the first time recently I remember using Chagall Cafe to help level Courage and Charm when available since it's the only part time job available at night.
Well, there's no REAL limit on how long you can spend in Tartarus. Early on your party members won't be able to keep up for long due to the fatigue mechanic. But things are relatively easy for the first month or so where that's a problem. And solo grinding with the MC is a totally viable tactic since he'll never quit, is the strongest individual party member, and the higher his level is the better personas you can make. Not to mention XP is distributed equally amongst the party in FES. So if you go in solo he gains 4x the XP per battle he would with a full party. But you really don't even need to do that. If you can reach the current top of Tartarus you'll probably be fine for the next boss fight. So I'd use that as a metric of if you're keeping up with the game in terms of levels and stuff.
Yeah, it's a shame but it looks like P3 Reload won't make it to Switch. Well, maybe it'll eventually come out on the Switch 2.0 that's apparently going to be announced in the next year or so.
Have not played it yet, planning on playing it when it comes out on Steam. Unfortunately I obviously won't be putting out guides until I've actually finished it in a month or so.
For the most part. Apparently, Karaoke isn't open on Sunday or Saturday in Portable. And I would work at Chagall Cafe while working on Courage and Charm at night. Also, you can't study after doing other things at night now. But because of that, they lowered the requirements for leveling up Academics so it takes roughly the same amount of time.
Many changes were made to Portable, that was apparently one of them. Also, this video was made in 2022 about a game from 2007. Not sure how it could be "outdated" info.
I definitely should. I think by the end of this year I'll have finished all the Persona 3 guides I want to make. After that I'll probably start branching out to P4 & 5.
Wait how are you able to do karaoke on Sunday?
