I was at that concert! Fred Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Sincerely my favorite concert ever, right down to everyone singing and dancing in the rain without a care in the world, just happy to be together with the community enjoying the music. My heart was SO full for many, many days after. Thank you for that! I continue to be ever-grateful for that experience.

Once I had a dream. My native town. I crossed the road and saw lots of people cleaning a path from snow. There was too much snow so I decided to help them. During this activity I heard Malinda, singing in fluent Russian a song about bad weather from the Soviet movie "Mary Poppins" and playing the guitar. And snow melted at once😊

I don’t know how I missed this video. But I just wanted to tell you as someone who went to your Philly show and left thinking “I need to feel that again” (and then did do that again… At the DC show :-) but you very much succeeded in making me float out of those spaces. My journey with organized religion has changed in ways I never expected it to, but I’ve finally realized that music making me feel alive had less to do with church and worship, and more to do with the communal experience of creating something bigger than me, that is objectively beautiful. Your music and the music of so many other authentic and “real” artists bring the same feeling that I was missing so much from my childhood in the church. Experiencing it live made me float, and listening to it independently makes me feel alive.

Amazing video, welcome back and congratulations on all you've accomplished in the last year and since you've been on UA-cam. Also something that came to mind when you were talking about wanting to hear music everywhere was that it might be fun and relaxing for you to do a sound walk where you just walk around a place listening to all the sounds you can hear, it's quite a reflective and interesting experience. Not necessarily for UA-cam or anything but just for yourself.

You seem very happy and at peace with your growth as an artist and you’ve been the biggest inspiration to me, I’m so proud of you! I’ve finally started and finished my first folk songbook of traditional songs, including a Sean Nós song that I’ve transliterated into English; Amhrán Mhuinse, I’m sure you’re very familiar with this, and which I’m very dedicated to learning and eventually sharing my growth just like you via yt and ig. Thank you for helping me to grow closer to my Scottish and Irish roots, which are very important to me and my heart, and being able to share that with others is also a huge dream of mine. This has inspired me to dream bigger, and to think about not just what feels realistic/attainable but what I really want to work toward, and what's really important to me. I've been in survival mode for a long time, but I'm working on making some major changes, some of which are kinda scary, to be honest. But it will be so worth it if I can find ways to fill my life with more of the things I love, that light up my soul or feel like being part of something positive or meaningful.
Thanks for sharing this part of your journey with us, Malinda! And I hope anyone reading this can achieve the things on their vision board that matter most.
