      My father had a Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5, and he had a BIOS update. After installing it, his laptop wouldn't even power on.

    Thanks for this, it worked and now I'm reinstalling all back into my mother's computer that I just received unresponsive. She sounded so worried when she called me not knowing why her computer didn't start. Thanks again HP.

    My hp notebook using for office work was stuck in BIOS update even after the progress was 100%. Waited for more than 2 hours nothing happened. After this saw this video and used the mentioned 1st solution now. And this solution worked. Thanks Hp support for the solution.

    Brilliant! I had no idea what to do to get my screen to come on, and this saved me. This is the only video that helps! Within 3 seconds of pushing buttons my screen was on and all worked perfectly. Thank you🙏

      It used to work for me ever since I upgraded to windows 11 every update I had to do this, but this last update the other day it doesn't work for me anymore any other sequence? I hate windows 11 btw

      @@HPSupport I followed the instructions for the BIOS recovery and after I clicked enter on the recovery 500 screen or whatever it said preparing automatic repair and I still have no idea what to do or any other working computer to fix create a USB with, please help me if you can

    I didn't need this info now, BUT I really like how this video was done. Usually videos have some long annoying intro, distracting music, or some guy trying to be funny. However this was was simple, easy to following, and right to the point. Good job to whoever made this video. It makes me want to run out a buy an HP computer ;) (Really I do like them!)

    Oh my God thank you so much for this simple fix. I have an allinone hp and all the other videos said to take the back off and mess with parts and remove the bad part. I'm not the type that would do that and just doing what you said brought up a bios system. You saved me alot of money.

      HP Support it did thank you guys, but i still don’t understand what causes the problem of my ‘hp hs04’ failing to turn on and the caps lock light continuously blinking 3.2 times. If you could help again I would be able to prevent it in the future. Thanks

      You need to diagnos your hard drive. Try removing it before following the steps. If you are able to recover your BIOS then is most likely that the BIOS update corrupted your hard drive

    Whew. Glad I found this when I did. Literally just let my laptop rest after an hour of writing, opened it up just to watch UA-cam and it was flashing.
    Here's a tip; If Windows +B doesn’t work when it's off, try it while its on.

    Everything went well then it went to the HP recovery manager restoration incomplete screen as always. I wish I had money to fix it. College student problems😕

      I understand that you are experiencing an issue in performing system recovery.
      I'll do my best to assist you.
      Please follow these steps to do a system recovery:
      1) Turn off the computer.
      2) Disconnect all connected devices and cables such as Personal Media Drives, USB drives, printers, and faxes. Remove media from internal drives, and remove any recently added internal hardware.
      3) Turn on the computer and repeatedly press the Esc key to enter the Startup Menu.
      4) Now press the F11 key to access Recovery manager.
      5) On the Choose an Option screen, click Troubleshoot.
      6) On the Troubleshoot screen, click Recovery Manager.
      7) Under Help, click System Recovery.
      8) Follow the on screen instructions to complete the recovery process.
      Let us know how it goes.

      Youre lucky it aint messed up that bad. Where there are lights and screen pics there is hope. I have neither. I would get a Ubuntu instal disk, and reboot. Better than windows anyway.

      +Ramadhan Sanyoto Steps to restore the BIOS with a key press combination:
      With the computer powered off, press and hold the Windows key and the B key.
      While still pressing the Windows and B keys, press and hold the Power button on the computer for one to three seconds, then release the Power button. Continue holding the Windows and B keys until you hear beeping sounds or the HP BIOS update screen opens.
      The BIOS update begins automatically. It will write and then verify the updated BIOS.
      Click Continue Startup to restart your computer or wait until it restarts automatically.
      At the BIOS recovery prompt, press Enter on your keyboard to continue loading Windows. If prompted, read and respond to the screens to complete the recovery process.

    Hey you guys... I tried the windows+b keys several times and got the "BIOS UPDATE FAILED PAGE". After watching another UA-camr I tried these same steps but using the 'windows+V" key. My computer is now functioning!

      I understand that you need help in restoring the computer to factory settings.
      I'll do my best to assist you.
      Please follow these steps to do a system recovery:
      1) Turn off the computer.
      2) Disconnect all connected devices and cables such as Personal Media Drives, USB drives, printers, and faxes. Remove media from internal drives, and remove any recently added internal hardware.
      3) Turn on the computer and repeatedly press the Esc key to enter the Startup Menu.
      4) Now press the F11 key to access Recovery manager.
      5) On the Choose an Option screen, click Troubleshoot.
      6) On the Troubleshoot screen, click Recovery Manager.
      7) Under Help, click System Recovery.
      8) Follow the on screen instructions to complete the recovery process.
      Let us know how it goes.

      +Troy Van Heer Assuming you mean the Administrator password for your Windows account, then no, the process in the video will not help as it is a completely unrelated fix. Instead I recommend that you look at this HP forum post by wes_notebooks "I forgot my password can HP help me reset it" - ( ow.ly/H8bb3016pnW ). Let me know if that helps.

    Thank you, it went straight to "The System BIOS is being recovered" - HP OMEN 17 (2019 Edition). Disclaimer: When the BIOS finished recovering and everything completed, my laptop went into an endless black screen. I had to press down the power button and then waited 60secs, turned on the laptop and I am now back to desktop, perfect, thanks!

    Still works in 2023! My HP assistant tool wanted to uppdate BIOS on my nine month Envy x 13" but it just resulted in the startup loop error. Waited a while but then searched for help and found this helpful video. Worked on först attempt! But HP, why is your own tool HP asisstant not better than this?

    This somehow worked on my PC, Since my battery is almost dead 😭 and everytime I remove the battery or sometimes it shutdown, It takes me atleast 5 hours to fix it, Good thing i found ur video even its not similar to my issue

    I had to unplug, wait 30 min and then plug again the cmo battery (mine was exposed, it looked like those watch batteries )

      But only do that if all the other tips don't work

    Damn this saved my life, I had a bluescreen loop at the start of my hp omen 015 laptop (Windows 11 installed) and I did this and now it works prfectly fine, Thanks hp this vid saved me !
