Hey everyone. I have made a new video outlining how to install BTech with the changes with UAC and Steam. Check out ua-cam.com/video/wNLkAMB-PrU/v-deo.html for that video!
Thanks so much. I love modding and have done simple line edits for some of my Steam Games, but BattleTech was so overwhelming and changed so quickly. I pretty much did this in real time. Thank you!
You're very welcome! I'm happy you were able to get things working. What mods are you using? I'm curious to hear about what kinds of mods people are finding interesting.
trying to follow your guide but 3025 is no longer in the nexus mod pool. am i missing something? would you be able to do another update video to assist us? i bought a pc just to play this game and am super excited thanks!
Hi Kyler, There is a new version that was just released. The link to that is: discourse.modsinexile.com/t/battletech-extended-3025-3061-1-9-3-3/426 It's an outstanding mod with a LOT of hard work put in by the team. I'm not involved at all - I just appreciate the level of effort required to pull this off. :) Hope that helps. Good luck!
Unfortunately it has been removed from the Nexus Mods site. I did upload a copy for folks to get it. Just remember that it's unsupported. The link to download it is: team-gizmo.com/downloads/BTechECEMod.zip You just need to copy that link and paste it into your address bar - should download just fine. Good luck!
I just looked and yeah - it is gone. I do not know what happened with it. I wonder if there is something underway to replace it, but it apparently just happened in the past week or so given that I downloaded it about 2 weeks ago for the video about manuallty modifying BattleTech.
Unfortunately it has been removed from the Nexus Mods site. I did upload a copy for folks to get it. Just remember that it's unsupported. The link to download it is: team-gizmo.com/downloads/BTechECEMod.zip Good luck!
Based on what I've seen, it might work with it but doesn't require it. The BTA mod is pretty self-contained and doesn't require any other mods to work properly. I haven't tried BTA yet but am planning on trying it out. BTA is a pretty difficult mod (not as hard as RogueTech but harder than Vanilla or BEX). I would probably recommend having it in a different folder than your other mods. Good luck!
In case you're running into problems with using BattleTech Mod Manager (BTMM), I've posted a video about how to mod your BattleTech game manually. The link is: ua-cam.com/video/29BN89Nqlxw/v-deo.html Hope these are helpful!
I have to admit that I've never had a problem where the game broke like that. You may need to have steam reset the game and then install the mods again. I'm assuming you mean the main screen in BattleTech isn't responding, so this should help with tht. The best way to reset is: 1. Right-click on BattleTech in your Steam library 2. Click on Properties 3. Select Local Files 4. Click the Verify Integrity of Game Files button This will restore your game back to the base installation, but I would launch and make sure the main screen works correctly. Then, if everything is okay, you should be able to reinstall the mods and see what happens. I would recommend installing one mod at a time as it might be a clash between two different ones. Not all of the mods are tested against each other, so there is definitely a possibility of a conflict. Good luck!
Hi, when trying to run battletech mod manager. I get 2 errors. 1 is that it can't find battletech installed and yes I did verify option and 2 it can't find the BBM.exe file. I think its called. Which I'm guessing has to do with the installed problem.
Hi there. I poked around a bit to see what might be happening and I would recommend posting on the Mod Manger forum to see if you can get some help. There is a Posts tab where people are still posting up questions and answers. Did you install into a different directory or different drive? It might be some kind of an issue with the MM not finding the Battletech.exe in the "expected" place. Good luck! If you still have issues, maybe we can set up a call or something and we can troubleshoot. I didn't write the Mod Manager or any of the mods I recommended, so I'm just a user like you. But I think the mods are a great extension to the base game and hope you'll be able to use them.
A couple of thoughts. When you install the ModManager it will try to use the default install path (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\BATTLETECH\). if your install is in a different location, it won't find it in that path. So you may want to try the following: * Go to Steam * Right-click on Battletech to bring up the pop-up dialog * Select Manage and click on Browse Local Files That should show you where your game is installed. Put that path in the install path dialog for ModManager I hope that helps. It's totally possible that your game is installed in a different location than the "typical" one. Let me know if that doesn't work for you. Also - let me know if you're not doing this on Windows because the mods won't work on a non-Windows machine. ▼

It sounds like BTMM may not be installed in the same directory as your BattleTech EXE or that where you installed BTech was "non-standard".
