Hey man I'm a 15 year old that I have just gotten into Industrial Painting and I am looking it into a further job, and I love your work. I have only started watching your videos but you have inspired me already and a new subscriber 👍
Jaiwaan Singleton Geary keep at it man and invest in a good gun for yourself. If you're a refinisher I'd suggest a tekna pro lite. Perfect gun for clear and easy to shoot base and its cheap but good quality. I started bodywork at the same age as you and now I've been a prepper for 6 ish year and a painter for 2. Keep at it and don't rush paint jobs
Kunal Abraham do you use the tekna TE25 for clearcoat? What PSI do you use? And how many turns you give it for material? And how many coats of clear you apply? Wet flush off 5 minutes and wet or half wet 5 minutes off and wet?
I'm a sprayer but I don't do cars I do wood I'm a wood spraypainting specialist but your tips on gun and sanding works in my line of work aswel, I work for myself and have being spraying for 8 years, and you can never know to much 👍
Spraypaint Productions hey buddy, so glad I saw your comment. I’ve been spraying for 30+ years as hobby work on the side mainly doing automotive and some truck and industrial work and absolutely love it. I have done some cabinet and door work in the past and had always used a lacquer paint and generally had good results but am real curious what type of material you spray and was wondering about some of the urethane based materials that are out now how they would do and if they might be more durable than the lacquers? What paint and what brand do you spray for wood products and what sheen are you using? Thank you so much for the info, I truly appreciate it! Take care!
AH totally awesome ! I got some chameleon paint about a year ago while in between garages and I've been waiting for you gunny, to tread the path before I dive in...but I'm ready now. Got a new garage and project car...so stay tuned and THANKS as always ! Keep up the great work. Cheers Pete
I have got to say...this fella really put it down. If I tried to shoot with his technique and distance from panel it would have been ruined. I also like that he was walking the entire car when putting the color on. Also, I had the initial thought of the bumper covers positioned as if mounted but reality set in about the color shifting and ...well...duh. Master painter, master job, really nice. Didn't quite get what you were telling him about the hood when shooting the clear. Looked like he was really putting it down strong.
I appreciate this video very much because I am new to painting and this shows very well the technique in spraying and adjusting the air pressure as needed to suit the painter's needs or comfort zone-in so doing all goes well-at least it did go very well and all in all was very impressive all the way around both of you were fantastic and it shows
Such an amazing finish! I saw a Benz the other day that I swear was producing five different colors depending on how you looked at it. Blue, red, green, gold, yellow...Probably more than that, but that's what I could make out for sure! Maybe it's just because we're getting a different perspective than we usually do with this video, but it looked like that clear gun was producing a lot more overspray than I see when you paint? Obviously it wasn't an issue; the car came out great! Just an observation. :)
awesome every video i'm always suprised on every job you do it's always cool viewing such cool stuff and seeing things done hands on from beginning to end it's awesome thanks.
Shit hot vid mate. Cheers to Shaun and to you gunny for doing the vid. I did a colour shift pearl not long ago using black spies hecher base, spectra fx BE32G blue emerald powdered pearl in alsa mid coat and cromax 696s clear and it came out wicked. Keep em coming mate you allways keep me inspired to "paint some more shit"👍
i love your stuff gunman! im still a shitty painter but i have gotten better from watching your vids. thanks for all the tips and tricks. hopefully i will get less shitty in the future but probably not cos i only ever paint track hack cars and its normally in a rush lol
hey gunman your little mention of spray guns direct.......I like how you keep it real. ..I just some guns off them and mate they are brilliant and the service is excellent, I'm in brisbane
I like what you said about the advertising thing, Yes your right the advertising is the annoyance at the start of video and TV that everyone ignores or skips pst, that’s not what we’re watching for. Too many UA-camrs nowadays ‘sell their soul’ for a bit of free revenue or gifts
when i had multiple supernova guns and was using the pps system id actually load 2 identical guns with clear instead of changing out the pps cups. Usually only on a custom job of a candy job not on collision work. And id also hold it upside down and pull the trigger till fluid came out, then the gun will spray upside down for getting rockers and bumper edges real good or id sometimes load my lph80 or minijet with pps cup and clear for rocker bottoms.
Ambidexterous. It's easy, just requires practice. It's also extremely handy regardless to occupation. Down side is you produce almost double then anyone else and the boss thinks you're lazy because you're not doing anything whenever he sees you.
Hi Gunman, wow am I glad I found your vids. KUDOS! for such well presented info. Nearly everyone else takes soooo long to get to the point, but you are spot on and give just the right level and amount of advice to comprehend what you're trying to achieve. Your openness and honesty is refreshing. Got a black car (solid colour , non metal/flake) that I want to do with the Iconic colour shift paint. Can I ... 1) leave the clear coat on and prep sand it 400 grit, and lay down a colour shift coat series, or 2) would I need to give it a few coats of black first. IE: would the sanded clear coat mess up the Colour Shift , or you think that would work ?
I would definitely still apply the black, it's what helps the pearl give the multiple colours. You'll see that in some angles you can see the black flip.
cheers Gunman, 2 coats of Black it is. hey, had a thought for masking off difficult/detailed ares...cut out a rectangle or circle paper to prevent overspray, then use a plasti-dip /silicone rubber paint type as a mask layer, then trim it up. had any experience doing it that way ( too expensive ) ?
Love the way that booth is never seen one with a full filter floor and love that iwata for clear and I have a similar style of clearing as he does but I'm short so it's in little sections and when I walk a car it looks like a small dog walking haha
Good spray job.In the 70s worked in a car wash/garage/body shop. By no mean claiming to be an expert. 99% prep 1% paint. I liked the painters sweep on the hood. little to quick on the side.maybe didn't want to get runs. the roof I found it best to start int the middle as any horizontal panel. Now as for the mixing. 33% thinning flows like molten glass dries like glass. just my style. slow the air and gun down and watch the flow.
Surely when a painter that is left handed will put the paint on upside down, but of course being painted down under the paint will be the right way up, left handed painters are banned here in the UK, the paint looks really dull upside down.

Ask sprayguns direct for the other air cap for the Nordson ,the stock gun is an AS compliant version the other cap is the LVLP and may reduce your clear consumption and overpspray ,personally I just drop the pressure on the Air Spray version and turn the material down
I used didsplade riddler and house of collars inter coat as far as I can tell my car and this car almost identical I did flow coat mine auto bahn euro clear I was sceptical but not a bad clear for the price
dude love your videos keep up the good work I just have one question why didn't you guys open the hood to paint it and what color is it under the hood you know like the sides interior of the fenders and underneath the hood but awesome work man love you vids

how would this color shift clear look over a inferno red base coat ..?..im looking to paint my 2007 dodge charger..great job...
How much would it cost for a paint job like this?
How i wish to have my own spray paint room
What paint guns did he use for the base coat, the color shift, and the clear coat?
Hi mate, wondering how this would turn out on a white base?
How much ionic paint did u guys end up using? If i buy 1 liter will it be enough for the whole car? I have a 350z
How much would a paint job like this cost?
Would be good paint for novices like me as blending doesn't look like an issue, apart from that its a super spray job.
Hey bro did you mix this in color blender?
have you tried their aerosol colour shift pearls.I would to give it a go on small job
To spray colour shift can you buy packets of this stuff mix it into lacquer and do it that way thank you
Mr gunman. Im planning on ordering 1 litter of this basecoat. And i have a black base and a different brand pf clearcoat. Will it still work or do i need to buy the whole kit from u guys? Thanks
Nice job.....
How many litres of the colour shift pearl to cover the car? I only saw a 1L can?
That would look awesome with the color changing metal flakes
price₹? for full set of how much Indian money?this paint's Available for India?
What kind of clear you guys use
I thought you had to hang all panels as they would sit on the car, for matching colour shift?
the front spoiler is laying down.
Is there any bigger spray booth? I think they need bigger one.
