"Kade is bright but not fulfilling his potential" "Why aren't you trying harder?, you're better than this." Now as an adult "why do you second guess yourself" "Why are you so stuck in your head?" ADHD, autism, anxiety disorder are my invisible battles and rise to them daily. Some days I win, others I lose. Good video man. Keep it up
Sir, I am so grateful I found your channel. I find that I relate so much to everything you say. This has been the core of my anxiety as well. I've been told the same thing: that I make careless mistakes or that I just don't care. And that's never been true. So this video is exactly what I needed today. Thank you so much.
Yes! Ugh, I put in ten billion percent effort in my youth to be sure I didn't appear careless, disrespectful, or sloppy in my schoolwork or life in general. Life got so much better once I started framing a mistake as just that: a mistake, not a moral failing. And grading "effort" is awful.
Oh man! The one I heard the most was “Mandy is just not APPLYING herself!” Seeing how many others always got that same sentiment makes me wonder if all teachers are taught to say that! Lol
I have been watching different videos about ADHD but only until I found yours does it make sense....the losing time thing....no consept at all....could be days....could be weeks...it's all the same....perfectionism....aka percrastination....having to work for it always harder than everyone else and the list goes on!
Great video! I'm not a parent but I often see ADHD parents commenting on the struggles they have. I'm curious how you talked to your kids about things like this, hopefully they can learn from you how to speak more positive about it. Thanks for giving me another tool to help analyze my own inner dialogue. I've been asking myself "why?" A lot when I run into walls or have some kind of strong emotional reaction. This will definitely help!!
The importance of language is massive, specially talking to ourselves. I love your content and you deserve more views and subs!! The content and the editing is gold. Keep it up!
Careless mistakes is still used in the diagnostic questions. It needs be simple mistakes. I hate that phrase its so emotionally loaded, it’s not the mistake- i feel the same.
LOTS of notes home from my teachers referred to my "careless mistakes" and "lack of effort."
I was amazed when I learned that some people do NOT have an inner voice.
They lying :p
I inner voice is very talkative, she goes around with a microscope looking for mistakes.

My negative talk is always around the idea that I am not good enough.
It's pure poison for my mind.
