    That’s a great price, finally a company keeping it real.

    Love it! Plenty of great ideas and a modern enough sail plan. Also good value for what you get.

    Quite similar to a Jeanneau Sun 2000 I once had but without the weight penalty of an iron grounding plate. I guessed £35k so the price was a pleasant surprise. Be interesting to see haw it performs against Hawk 20, seem to have a decent sized rig.

    I own a Ref Fox 200s, which has a lot of similarities with the BC21. Beamier and longer waterline. The Red Fox has Longer side/quarterberths providing more sleeping space for 4. Possibly a longer cockpit too. The RF has built in buoyancy but uses some 350kg of lead pigs as ballast, I think the water ballast is an interesting idea as it's easily adjustable even while underway and would make for easier hauling out & trailering without the lead. I'm not a fan of the timber rubbing strakes, gunwales, when elegant low maintenance options are avaialble. The RF uses uses mostly maintenance free materials. I do like the rig, lightweight, easy to raise.
    Does the BC21 have CE rating?

    charming little boat! But you could only just sit on the bunk with your head straight, so, how tall are you, Theo?

    It's a modern Macgregor 21 with water ballast like the 26.

    looks great, but what is VAT?

  • @rogerc4196
    @rogerc4196 4 місяці тому

    Neat. I assume the price doesn't include a trailer -- I wonder how much that would add? (Or maybe it does come with a trailer.)

    • @otm646
      @otm646 4 місяці тому +1

      About 5k from the factory, but if they came to the US it'd be cheaper to have trailers built on arrival.

    Looks like the outboard well forces you to drag the motor through the water perpetually. The sound of that alone, never mind the drag would be very annoying under sail.

      It looks like there's room to tilt it up since you don't need a long shaft, or if you go electric it would be super easy to remove it completely

    • @maximrickard5762
      @maximrickard5762 3 місяці тому +1

      No, you can sail with the motor in the tilt up position and so no drag

      The motor tilts completely out of the water and white composite flaps snap up to create a fair hull

      No boat deserves that comparison, least of all the Swallow.

      It's a smart decision. once you are asleep you won't need any more space, unless you sleep dance or something .

      Its essentially for camping mate, you're not buying it for long cruises in shite weather.
