Superb little boat, making racing sailing a little more accessible (relatively speaking). Well presented thanks for posting.

the graphic at the end showing the price has the wrong boat model name. Says it's a Bavaria C46

When I was young, a long time ago, we raced a Hunter 19. We even overnighted on her, very cosy. Now, at 72, this is not a boat for me. I will give them a wave when they pass me in the Solent. Oh, to be young and uncomfortable again. 😂

If I were in the market for a shorthand race boat (single or couple racing) would I go for this or the 3300?

In the same style, I favour the Dehler 30od. She'll allow you some week-end trips in between your "transatlantic races"... Hard to imagine there's a market for transatlantic racing, actually?! But then again, make the boat expensive enough, and you don't need to sell as many in the end. All toys for the very wealthy at the end of the day. Awaiting a simply built sportsboat at really affordable rates. I feel that will last a while, though.

10:35 That's absolutely a sleeping position. You're going to have all of your kites down there. A bit of shuffling and a thermarest mattress on top and you have a lovely place to take your 4 hours off shift.
Those exposed ribs and stringers likely will not fly anyway, you're going to twist an ankle getting down there trying to pack a chute. Guarantee that's going to get covered with 1/4" ply or carbon if you're a fancy lad.

Yeah, 200k somewhat acceptable, not price gouging. I feel like people who would like to go ocean racing on the cheap are more likely to pick a smaller design buildable in plywood and build it for 20k. Probably 50k too expensive for it to be a massive widespread success; I mean, this thing is bare bone AF. At least it has a pretty sweet chart table.

5:15 real shame that it is deck stepped, that means these boats will gain zero traction on the Great Lakes racing scene. Looks like the J boats will continue to be uncontested for another 10 years.

Why does a boat need to be keel stepped to gain traction on the great lakes?

Yeah. Like Formula 1 cars. They don't even have air-con.

@@atakd , it’s not a bad price considering it’s not made by third world illiterates like all those Thailand crap.

Disagree. Compare it with similar boats, it is materially below their price

completely failed the task for an affordable boat and too heavy in my opinion.
Those footrests are going to be total leg breakers - why would you design them in a way that they never fold a way completely and you can't put netting in them?
