- In this Human Design video I share in real-time what it's like to go through a mutation in Human Design. This is applicable to all designs because we are in the midst of a major collective mutation from the Cross of Plannnig to the Cross of the Sleeping Phoenix.
But, some of us will 'mutate' more than others, especially if you are a 3 or a 6 profile: 1/3, 3/5, 3/6, 6/3 or 4/6, 6/2. Or if you have quite a bit of Individual Circuitry or Integration Circuitry.

Omg nothing fits! Yesss! Literally changed all my favorite colors and had to get a whole new wardrobe cuz I cant even pull my old clothes on my body. They are all too tight and I cant believe I ever wore them. Also decided my branding doesnt fit me anymore pretty much overnight, but I had nooo idea where I am going and what I am anymore, so Ive stepped away from my business completely to let this evolution unfold before me. I know I have mutated because this lack of control and surrender feels GOOD and exciting instead of scary and threatening. I dont fear losing momentum or even failing in my biz. I am suddenly obsessed with the color red, too. Used to hate it! I am a 4/6 pure generator, so maybe its a 6 thing? Either way this is so fun and I love this video! Its so life affirming for me cuz most people I know arent experiencing these radical changes or at least willing to share about it.
I am in the end of my mutation and it was long and brutal, so I encourage anyone in the thick of it to follow your tips cuz theyre perfect. What we are going through is gold! At the other side awaits the version of you that youve been creating-they are braver, wiser, and so much more free! It is worth the suffering for your upgrade.🤍🤍🤍

4/6 profile and I'm most definitely going through a mutation. I have surrendered, resting a lot and trusting that the universe will provide signs as to my next steps. We are in Eclipse season right now so the energy is so much stronger. I'm flowing in my feminine essence, open to receiving as oppose to controlling through my masculine essence. I have done so much new clothes shopping and reinvention of my image/ego over the last year. Meanwhile, big things have been happening in my life that I have wanted/worked for (career/creatively/mental health). You are right about feeling exhausted. I've had to take a step back and just let what's happening happen which is very hard for me because I feel like I have to always be "doing" something. I'm new to this human design stuff and I'm not completely sure if it's a paradigm I will seriously adopt, but apparently I'm a 4/6 manifestor and much of what I am reading does ring true. I'm just not a fan of being labelled and given guidelines (which is very manifestor of me, I recognize that 😂)
Also, you are absolutely glowing in that top even if it's not something you would normally choose.

The beauty in guidelines is that they're not rules! If something truly feels wrong or doesn't align you aren't obligated to give it power. (Although I would encourage you to look inward and see if the reason something in HD doesn't feel right is because it isn't or because you've been conditioned by society to feel otherwise.)

I’m a 6/2 Manifestor currently going through my Saturn Return and I’ve been in the uncomfortable “in-between” for about a year now. It’s been near constant curriculum and confusion, with moments of searing clarity, so thank you for reminding me to have faith in the face of the unknown!

With my gate 60 in unconscious Earth and individual channels, yes, I understand what mutation is too. Thank you so much for confirming, I'm experiencing this right now..again! I have an idea of what is left behind and what's next, I definitely see the boundary line, and it got clear only after a few weeks after mutation started. At first it was just nothingness, now I can feel im closer to the end of it, and issues are presented RIGHT IN MY FACE, but nothing is happening yet. Im just waiting, as soon as my MG sacral loves smth - i'm off that very second! )))) I totally agree, nothing happens, then BOOM and I live a different reality. Its always like that. So right now im waiting as much as an MG can wait... ))) x By the way, I have gate 42 in unconscious Earth, so I suppose Im in the middle of finishing a cycle too... Lol

Oh I can’t describe how good it felt to hear someone else describe “mutation.” Im all individual/integration circuitry with the 60-3 to boot, so I live AS the on/off pulse. I don’t recall another time I’ve heard someone describe the individual mutation process so clearly. Good stuff!!!

Thank you Karen, this is very much a confirmation for me as I've literally been feeling like I'm shedding a skin. I kept getting these visuals from the movies when a person mutates into a warewolf because that's what it feels like to me. I keep saying I need a new wardrobe, the clothes I have now are just not me at all, I've also slightly changed my appearance and I've been pushed to change many other things too! Btw I also have thr cross of the sleeping phoenix 😊

@@karenmcmullen Yes, I have a few markers in my HD suggesting many transitions, crisis and mutations like this and thanks to HD it makes it so much easier to just live in peace knowing it's just a part of my make-up whereas before I didn't understand what was happening and I was creating pressure on myself to keep things linear which created a lot of stress unnecessarily as it turns out!

Thank you so much Karen for posting this. Last few days have been very very uncomfortable for me. It seems like I might be undergoing a mutation too. And I'm consciously and more present to it the first time ever and it's SOO UNCOMFORTABLE right now. My sleep cycles are off, I'm super low on energy, nothing feels interesting to me, my emotions are very raw, I feel my intuitions stronger than ever, but not in a very comfortable way. It would be very helpful if you could make some more content around this, whatever feel right for you :) Thanks again! I searched on the internet, and couldn't find other helpful resources to guide me through.

What triggers mutation? I have a lot of individual circuitry and I’m 6/2 Emotional Manifestor left angle cross of the Individual. Mutation is REAL in my life, and I agree with all of these points and indicators

I feel like it depends on the mutation....I have had smaller mutations where it lasts just a few days. Then bigger changes that last some weeks, months or even years. I lived in the void of not knowing how I would make money for many years...probably like 5-6 years before a new direction really came and made itself apparent. In that time I was still doing some things to make money but it wasn't within a real solid framework of what felt like a business. (for example)
The more you engage with the mutation, by trusting, creating, healing, feeling, exploring what is going on in your inner landscape, the sooner it becomes apparent.

I’m a 5/2 Splenic Manifestor and I went through a major transformation 2018-2022 (and I think it’s continuing in 2023). Over these years, I gained 60lbs, especially while Saturn was in Aquarius on my Ascendant, and now Saturn is in 55, on my Sun. I’ve traveled to Ireland 3x (2019 & 2023) and I feel such a calling to move there.
I’m 5 years into my PhD program (fighting some melancholy and I have my Sun in Gate 55). Last year I purged over 6k pounds of clutter including a LOT of clothes, old broken things, books, etc. I donated a lot and I sold my house and moved. It’s been a really strange and challenging process. I have the Channel of Transformation 32-54, so I assumed this was partly to do with that. I hadn’t thought about Mutations. Is there a difference between a mutation and transformation? I’m flowing through changes and shedding undesired extra weight in the process as I shift into a new paradigm. I’m resting , too, every week I just take a slow easy restful day. These are awesome tips! Bodywork: I have had recent success with acupressure and holistic Eastern medicine healing sessions. Neuro feedback brain training. And Open water swimming! (Rivers, lake, ocean) Even swimming with jellyfish in Ireland was transformative for me.
Yes there is a difference between a mutation and transformation. A mutation is a non linear irrevocable change versus a transformation could be gradual and linear. Interesting that you have the 32-54. I wonder if you are fully expressing your drive?
Why is it soo good! I opened my closet yesterday and nothing fit. Nothing aligned. I also looked at my offerings and started to change. And i almost bought a red car! I was like, what's going on,I never liked red lol
