You are the opportunist. Naturally friendly and people-smart, you approach the world with your warm-heart and your wisdom.

I'm a 2/4. I'm big hearted for sure, but not a people person.. I get drained very easily. Yes, definitely like other friendly people, i don't understand when people can't be friendly!
Hi Janine! Thanks for sharing. The 4 in your design is unconscious, so it makes sense that perhaps you are more in your 2...which is the hermit. Both the hermit and the 4 can find connections draining, so look for the connections that nourish you! THanks for stopping by and sharing your experience.
2/4 splenic Manifestor here, I relate to this! Drained very easily, regardless of how much I enjoy someone’s company. But in general very friendly and like learning about others

As a 1/4, I definitely relate to needing (and having) a large network. And yes, yes to friendliness making a huge difference for me. I hadn't thought of it before, but you're right, if the environment doesn't feel friendly, I tend to just wander off.
I imagine that as a reflector you are especially sensitive to the environment.
I'm a 1/4 as well.. I guess only 2% of people are... :)
I'm a 4/6 emo Projector. Very friendly, big-hearted - do best (obviously) with others who welcome me warmly, invite me in. Don't tend to respond well (withdraw) when people are cool/cold/unwelcoming - it just feels un-natural, unhealthy for me.
I'm still fairly new to HD (a couple of years). So I found this video quite helpful, Karen - because I can feel your friendly 4 energy, and I really enjoyed your personalizing, your sharing some of your experiences. Thank you so much.

Thanks, this is a lovely description of 4th line networking & friendship. Especially when you said "they're people people" and "big-hearted", I resonated with that. I'm 1/4 myself, so am a little more introverted initially, but find myself trying to fix things with friendliness if an environment doesn't already have that vibe. Your story helped me understand that inclination. Loved your dancing for us and your cozy, friendly backdrop!
Hey Christine, Thank you for sharing what resonates for you. Perhaps you are inspiring me to do a video on the 1 profile! My tendency these days is to get out of places that don't have a friendly vibe...because I find I am too sensitive for it and I end up losing the battle... But there are times when my friendliness can turn things around in a place. :)
I'm also a 4/6 projector. I don't have a big network nor really wish for it. I like having a few close people with depth of connection, but don't really have the energy to maintain that many connections. I can't seem to bring myself to care for more, if it isn't for some deeper purpose that we connect.
Besides that, Ive observed that the places we live will tend to show whether we click with people or not, it's not always about us personally. I'm living in a country where my entire life, I have felt subtly rejected for who I am, my originality and my being. I always felt there was something wrong with me when in interaction with people. but the minute I left to live in Asia, interactions with people changed and I was invited everywhere, whether I wanted to or not.
When I went to America and stayed there, everything opened up and people simply approached and were friendly and very fast wanted to be friends. I'd never tried that before. This was fascinating, cause it never happened in my home country. It's like my energy repels the energy of the people here in Scandinavia. People here are very insecure and closed-hearted overall, not friendly at all, which is probably an indicator.
I totally agree with friendliness being an indicator of whether we should be in a given setting with people or not. I feel a deep discomfort with being around people who are incredibly guarded and closed off as a get-go, not to mention if they're not friendly or open when they meet others. I don't even want to spend energy on trying to draw them out of their shell, this is probably where others might perceive me as not as friendly. I've observed that people like that tend to put friendly people subtly down, due to their own insecurity. We get made "fun of" in a "oh it was just a joke" kind of way, but I can feel they basically feel that friendliness and kindness is a weakness.
I acknowledge that there are people who take time to open before they show their true face and show warmth, but maybe those people aren't for me, cause I just feel put off by such a closed aura to begin with. It says too much about them as a person. I'll still be friendly, but I won't invest energy.
And strangers are usually not interested in me at all. I'll either be like air to them, or there just won't be any connection.
However, I do find that I attract certain strangers when alone in public. Suddenly on a bus ride an old man will sit down next to me and start telling his life story. Or a woman will catch my eye several times, smile and just start opening up. It's quite fascinating and humbling to experience that people probably feel comfortable and secure enough with my friendliness to open up in a way one usually only does with people one knows.

PS. Plus there is that one thing which feels contradictory. I get called super friendly, super helpful and kind, but I'd rather be on my own and do my own thing most of the time. I don't like communal groups and settings, it feels icky to be part of. I can see everyone else having fun doing stuff together and bonding in larger settings, but I just want to get out of dodge. then I found out my variable and that I go from communalist to seperatist and all started to make sense ;) with age, I pull more and more away from doing group things. Which maybe feels a bit contradictory to the 4th line, but I'll see how it goes :)

I have a 2/4 Hermit/Opportunist profile, which i see as being socially bipolar: there are times of wanting to be among people and times where everyone is being pushed away so stuff can be worked through. I guess i'm coming out of my 2 phase and stepping into my 4 phase at the moment, otherwise i wouldn't snoop around here. :) The problem with too much friendliness is that people tend to get swayed into such a deep comfort over time, that they don't sense someone's bad intentions towards them, because these are being covered by pleasant and kind words.
Hey there Green Sky, yes, it's totally a bi-polar profile socially speaking!! But even the 4 on it's own can be quite bi-polar because we get socially overwhelmed. I didn't understand that last part of what you were saying...are you saying that people who are 4s can have bad intentions towards others, or that we can have trouble telling when people have ill intent if they are able to use kindness? (I think the latter). Yes, but ultimately, I feel like we need to have strong enough courage to love people anyways, even though there will be some bad apples along the way. We definitely become more discerning over time. Hugs.
The last part of my comment doesn't have anything to do with the human design profiles. It is referring to that one negative experience you had regarding the dance classes (3:37).

So I am a P 2/5 but I have a lot of 4's in my life!! 2's also!! My best friend is a G 2/4, my brother is a MG 1/4 my mom is a G 4/6, my sister is a MG 4/6 & my cousin is a G 2/4. Then my daughter is a P 1/4, my son is a P 2/4 & my new baby grandson is a MG 2/4!!!! Quite a tribe!!!! Tomorrow will be the first time my kids, my grandson and I will all be together at once! Going on a trip to Multnomah Falls!! I'm really looking forward to seeing how we all relate together!!! I'm excited to learn more about the 4's in my life. 4/6 splenic projector here. though i do get mixed reactions from people, i was either told i was warm and big hearted or cold and unwelcoming. most of the people i've met in real life were either 2/4 or 6/2
I imagine you were both of those things! Most of us are walking contradictions!

2/4 Splenic Manifestor. Alot of the time I feel internally conflicted. It’s as if one part of me is wanting to go out and be as social and outgoing as any stereotypical extrovert (and when I do follow the instinct, it feels great, I feel energized), then the other part of me is saying no, stay home, you have much to learn within your solitude (this is most of the time). Hard to explain and put into words what im thinking and feeling, but in the end the 2/4 is profile feels highly bipolar and it’s hard to manage.
Doing as much research as I can to learn about myself, and how I can navigate through the world in a way that best compliments my design.

Apparently I'm a 4/6 myself (MG), but I'm having trouble coming to terms with it. I'm not a "people-person" at all, very much the opposite, having a very hard time opening up and feeling a connection with others. It just doesn't make sense..
There can be other things at play that make us not feel in alignment, conditioning around things or trauma, sometimes things don't resonate at first, and that's ok! When we start trying to live in alignment, follow our authorities often we warm up into other aspects of our design.

Hi Karina :) I find that human design is so full of contradictions. I know so many manifestor women who are absolutely sweet and soft in their personality, and yet they still have the repelling aura, which is really just a way of moving through the world, carving a way for them to go ahead. The manifestors I know that have the 4th line, are very people-smart and social, and friendly. It's a magical combination. One of my bestfriends is an emotional manifestor with a 1/4 profile. I think it goes together well, despite the contradiction!

I am in a life transition right now and I do run into people who are friendly… or not. So I’m curious as to how you know what their profile is and how long it is before you decide to move forward with them. I don’t see myself asking someone what their birthday is and a lot of people I talk to and do ask, have no idea of their birth time. So how do you know to connect with them?

Hi there, you don't need to know what profile they are. As long as it seems like a connection that you enjoy and want to continue, you're good! As a self-projected projector, if you talk about things out loud to yourself or others, you might discover your heart-centred truth about what's right for you. That can be true, intention is always important and social constructs such as manners or etiquette can come across as friendliness which doesn't feel true.
