I was part of an Australian Combat Team. I can remember quite vividly Christmas Eve 2006, it was a cold crisp evening at FOB Union III, Baghdad. I had dinner at the DFAC, and the Kid sat 1 table away. He later played, but I had to go. I can still hear him playing quite loud, as we made our way back to our lines, and and I have that on video. It was nice to see a musician supporting the troops, as many won't. Good on ya Kid! Thanks for the memories, this was one of the nicer ones.
Those serving in the Middle East, irregardless of the political complexities, deserve our support and respect. Good for you Kid Rock!! For not forgetting our troops. Go Army!!

I have a question mahonolith... Did you ever serve in a war-zone? You may have been a soldier but without serving in a war-zone you have no idea what they feel. We need to support our troops, they may have their hands full protecting their brethren but still they need our support and to know that us back at home still care and want them home. I believe in differences of opinion, but support our troops is NOT bullshit!! They need support when in the theater of operations, and when they get home!!
im northern irish! and il tell you right here and now.. i dont approve of the war, but what i do approve of is patronism.. the soldiers dont pick wat they want to do.. they do their job.. and fucking respect to them!! if you have beef, take it to the white house, because i would never diss a soldier.. they have balls and do their country proud, respect!

(not the common civilians of course) I fought together with some guys from Bundeswehr, German troops (black crow uniform ). They really are brave and well trained.
