  • Beth Greer had been living what she considered a healthy lifestyle when a medical crisis prompted her to reevaluate everything-from the food she ate to the personal-care products she used and the environment she lived in. Join us as she reveals the alarming extent of the dangerous chemicals we unwittingly expose ourselves to every day. As she did in her own life, she invites people to put their lives under a microscope-to scrutinize what Americans put in and on their bodies and bring into their homes-and to make personal choices that will enable them to "live clean" in a toxic world.
At a time when impeccable scientific research points to an alarming correlation between common chemical compounds and cancers, allergies, psychiatric disorders, and birth defects, among other serious health concerns, Beth gives us the tools to start protecting themselves and their families.

A year ago, I eliminated all Artificial ingredients from my diet.
As a result I lost 85 pounds. I was averaging 6 pounds per month.
And the weight came off with ease.
    I did not count calories.
    I did not starve myself
I simply went into my grocery store, And I read labels.
And I chose the most natural products I could find.
There's only about 10 ingredients in my grocery store that I will consume I consider everything else to be poison.
If you are sick and tired, of being sick and tired. I encourage you to make an effort to eliminate all artificial ingredients from your diet because the government knows these ingredients are killing us and causing us to be sick and the government Does absolutely nothing to protect us.
So please protect yourself, become your own USDA. your own FDA. And stop consuming poison because as far as I'm concerned whether it kills you in 20 minutes, or 20 years it's still killing you. Therefore it is poisonous to your natural body.
Our bodies were never designed to process artificial chemicals.
That is why artificial chemicals are killing us.

14:19 tried to find this study, shockingly I could not, here’s some quotes I did find from uc Davis though. “there is limited scientific evidence suggesting that organic foods are any healthier than conventionally grown foods” “While there is some evidence that there are some compositional differences between organic and conventionally grown foods, there is not sufficient evidence that these changes have any significant implication on human health” organically grown foods have been shown to contain slightly more vit C, minerals and antioxidants, but this is a huge overstatement and if the study does exist it is a cherry picked outlier

They are trying to tell us that these "natural flavors" derived from chemicals, are just the same as real flavors derived from real foods, but they are lying through their teeth. It's criminal for them to call these things anything, but lab created, chemically derived flavors, absolutely not natural flavors! They know they are being deceptive and our g@v$rnm$nt agencies are okay with it. These companies create these flavorings to be highly addictive and to high jack our taste buds, so we'll be more inclined to keep purchasing those products, even if we have negative reactions from eating them, because of how powerful those addictive qualities are of the chemical flavors. It makes you more likely to override your own better judgment and want to eat it, despite knowing that it will make you feel bad or even sick, after consuming it. That's how destructive and dangerous these ingredients are and why our g@v$rnm$nt should be banning these things, but they get paid by these companies to look the other way and allow these poisons into our food supply. They are all criminally negligent.

Check out flavcity with Bobby . He has a really awesome app called BobbyApproved and you can literally scan items and see if it has approved by Bobby ingredients . I agree..I watch Bobby Parrish and love finding out what new products he likes and which ones to avoid and why. We all need to learn how to read the food labels better and how to decipher the jargon the manufacturers use to hide things that are bad for us on the labels of their products. Be sure to read the labels on every product, every time you shop, because manufacturers are constantly changing what ingredients are in the products and they don't want us to notice the changes.

Thank you Doc for sharing this very important topic. I never knew the food we eat everyday is/ are not safe. I hope you could visit Philipines and educate us with you very informative discussion about food we eat. Filipinos love to eat their food with MSG. My late grandmother eat organic foods she grown in the backyard., the problem is she put an Msg to the soup that she cooked. I guess thats the number one reason she experienced Alzheimers before she died. From now on, ill be careful choosing my foods to eat. Even if its not delicious, the important thing is its organic. God Bless You and the owner of this uploaded youtube video.

6:07 bad take, coconut water is an awful alternative for athletic performance, it is high in potassium and very low in sodium, sweat is high in sodium and low in potassium. Coconut water will not replace the electrolytes list in sweat. Gatorade is formulated to match the electrolyte composition of sweat. Also the sugar is in Gatorade for a reason. Higher blood glucose levels are beneficial for performance. In the case of athletic performance coconut water is a sorry excuse for a sports drink. For a sedentary person who already consumes more than enough sodium however, this substitution would be good

Don't assume b/c the produce code doesn't have 8xxxx that it's not GMO. That program is voluntary. The only way to know for sure is to buy 9xxxx for certified organic or buy from a farmer you trust.

I know your comment is old, but the idea of GMO being dangerous for the human body is unfortunately an old misconception. A plant is build up of atoms and these atoms are making different types of material. When you eat anything do your body break down everything to its atoms and convert it to sugar in some form. GMO or non GMO is broken down in the same way, and you end up with exactly the same. GM is Gene Modified and every gene is totally broken down in your intestine long before it ever reach your bloodstream. :-)
Most of what you have ever eaten has been gene manipulated, just not directly, but by selecting for what we do prefers.

I don't know why so many organic products are so expensive. I love to go to our local health food store for special items I need. But I look at the fresh produce and it takes my breath away at how much it costs. Same with most of their other products. And with inflation, health food stores' prices are going to be even more unattainable. Many regular grocery stores carry organic items, especially fresh. They are almost always cheaper in the regular stores than health food stores, but I'm not sure why. I'm glad to see stores in general making an effort to get organic or near organic products on their shelves. I'm trying so hard to get chemicals out of my diet, but in so doing it means cooking from scratch and reading labels. The "natural flavoring" thing bothers me because I don't know what is hidden in it.

If you're trying to avoid MSG it goes under 40 different names- www.truthinlabeling.org/names.html
Also, don't believe labels that say No Msg. Most (probably all) of them are 100% false. I saw this on a can of Swanson's chicken broth and it contained yeast extract which is MSG. All broths contain MSG BTW.

After reading "Is It Organic", by Misca Popoff (former USDA inspector), the answer to your question is no. Just because something's labels organic doesn't mean it's truly been grown organically. Most organic foods are not tested to truly tell if they are organic. So much of the organic labeling process depends solely on paperwork filled out by farmers and not all farmers are honest. But I still choose organic labeled foods when available because it's better than nothing.

    • @CSWRB
      @CSWRB 5 років тому

Mischa Popoff (former USDA inspector Ana author of "Is It Organic") recommends that the organic labeling process be revised to include more testing (in field testing and point of sale testing) and that USDA officials do more frequent on site farm inspections and that the inspections all be unannounced.

what immediately jumps out is around 14:00 where she shows a slide with how much more of some specific nutrients are in organic than non-organic crops.
When the stats are that extreme, she very likely cherry picked, something smells fishy. But, since I have seen studies that show the differences are much less to nearly nothing as compared to her extremes....smells fishy. Variances in nutrient content can vary more than from organic to traditional just based on location, soil, etc.
Then the language that she uses to try to sell her point around 2:30, with the Europe and UK compared to US additives.
THe US additives are referred to be trade name, Red #40 and Yellow #6 as well as using the word 'dyes'. But on the Europe / UK side she refers to 'pumpkin' and 'carrot' extracts. One gets scary sounding names but the other side gets friendly carrot and pumpkin.
Regardless of what is in the carrot extract and Yellow #6 dye, then specific name and generic term tell you nothing of what the actual ingredient contains. The language is used as a scare tactic. The slide could just as easily listed out the ingredients of each item rather than using scary trade-names for one side and then friendly general terms for the other side.
It would be like referring to water for one side of an argument as "our products contain the purest water while our competition uses dihydrogen monoxide." If you don't know already, di-hydrogen monoxide is just pure water. Or, "we use pure sugar to sweeten our product while the competition uses a man made concoction of monosaccharides"
Her intent is surely not to lie but she isn't being entirely honest in her attempt to persuade and she uses language tricks rather than just using non-cherry picked data that or scary words without actually demonstrating a danger or not.
