I'm running every mod he showcased with the exception of the ENB at 1080p 60 fps on my laptop. My specs are a i7-8750H and a 1050ti. Some of the grass and vegetation is put on performance since i saw little to no difference and saved me from dropping to 45-50 fps. So 2080ti isn't needed at all really if your're not going 2k-4k.
You can use 4k textures for very small objects you don't see often though. I have a dragon claw Key mesh/retexture that goes up to 8k and gives no performance hit mainly because its only one small object at a time, unless you were to drop all the dragon claws in one room, I guess performance would start to dip slightly.
@@Vaz_G your card will handle it fine. texture mods isnt really that fps heavy once you download city mods, quest mods, npc mods and armor/weapon mods. i use over 250 mods where most texture mods are at 2k, and the game runs relatively fine at 60 fps, except in some cities.

When i started modding my Skyrim LE i knew absolutely nothing about modding. I started watching tutorial videos like this one and in a couple hours i knew the direction i needed to go for my (saldy old) PC setup. The best advice is to simply read the mod description page on the Nexus as modders usually have very explicit descriptions of how to set up the mod. Since im playing Skyrim LE i still use the latest nexus mod manager, but there are other mod managers out there too. Using a MM removes any headache of going in folders and editing options, files and folders manually because the manager does that for you. After that you can use a load order manager like LOOT to make sure all the mods are loaded in proper order. And of course you also need to install Skyrim SKSE which is a software that most mods require to function. In any case, there are plenty of Skyrim modding tutorials on YT that will clear it up for you. As for mod version just pick up the latest one from the Nexus page which is usually the best.
@@mancamiatipoola I use NMM, LOOT and watch tutorials about how to install an ENB. Even though i have only few problems with mods, i can't install ENBs properly even though i watch tutorials on how to.
There’s a really cool mod that takes the vanilla hair models and gives them physics. The textures might not be better, but seeing it behave like hair rather than a greasy wad of playdough is huge. It’s always the little things
that skyrim realistic overhaul is a game changer. it makes things you would never notice incredible looking, its nice to have detail for absolutely everything in skyrim without having to download 100 texture mods
I'm so lucky YESTERDAY I just STARTED RE-MODDING MY SKYRIM SE. YOU SAVE ME SO MUCH TIME. ThANK YOU A LOT!!!!!!! I know you showed the old version. but is a perfect base line

4:20 actually what he tries to say is that it adds more pixel count to a certain objects that look low res and with increased pixel density you get better looking image out of it, same as on monitor 720p monitor will have bigger pixels but lower count, whereas 1440p will have smaller pixels but bigger density or volume or count of them resulting in a better image quality or for example a cinema, if you go near the display on which movie is playing, you will see pixels, even tho res is very high, but that seems like it only from afar because they adjust it base on distance from where you are sitting and the the movie playing, and here is almost the same, but while they do not expect you to just look objects from afar you will come close to them and the smaller the pixel count better graphics will be, almost as like they'd add more polygons
Remember in grade school when a teacher would hand you a piece of paper with 6 boxes on it and call it a "net" then you'd cut the "net" out fold accordingly and glue the tabs to make a cube? UV unwrapping (to get uvs) is the opposite. Flattening a 3d object so a 2d texture map can be applied. And I'm surprised a studio like Bethesda wasn't already making best use of UV space. Edit: the footprints mod likely just paints a footprint shaped normal map (think bump map that bounces light in 3 directions instead of two) on whatever surface you're stepping on. Which is why it works with whatever texture mod you're using.

4:25 That door is from Magnificent Riften Doors mod, mod author has done massive improvements to a large number of doors in skyrim and its all Open Cities compatible by default, def check it out.
Some mods will always get overwritten while mixing and matching different mods to get the best of both worlds. That's the whole point. Even in the video, he mentions it at one point. The thing you want to make sure is that what you want in your game is what is doing the overwriting. And not all mods just overwrite each other from the get go.
Changing weathers and in-game lighting is the most important. Followed by upgrading key textures like common wood, stone and water. Next is misc mods like clutter and npc make overs/ player enhancements.
I think you should search for a version of Rock mod that doesn't change the color from greys to red and yellows, but still does everything your current mod does, since darker colored rocks and stones are naturally found in regions with colder temperatures, so the colder a place is the darker are their stones and rocks.
It's always so satisfying when there's a mod that makes the NPCs look more high definition but doesn't make them look like shitty anime characters, so hard to find one of those.
Take my with a grain of salt since I've never played Skyrim on anything except 360 (my computer begs for mercy when it runs Fallout: New Vegas in 2-5 fps) but from what I've seen most "character improvement" mods don't do anything but make the women look and dress like strippers.

TY very much for this video, Nate. I always liked your videos because they had a specific fantasy and semi-cartoony look to them just like i would like my Skyrim to look like. Now i see it is the ENB and lighting mods that make that fantasy atmosphere. I was wondering what you use for long range level of detail. Many YTers skip this part of the looks but i think it is just as important. øyvind vego yeah i already installed all these mods and i dont know if i like it, especially the lighting mods. They make every object glow weirdly and the npc retextures look kinda off as well
An on screen comparision with vanila througout would have been a great addon, epic picks tho, thanks for bringing more awareness
Man, that thumbnail still goes so hard! I hope my character looks that awesome one day!
Me: Time to make Skyrim truly next next gen
My Pc: *screams internally*
If you’re like me and like to play in 3rd person I recommend
“look at what you see- camera head tracking”
I wish setting these mods up would be easier and wouldnt need perfect knowledge of different files & mod versions in order to get working
Get loot it organize it for u
@@jAZZCRU22 i do have loot. But when i play with ENB on, the game kinda looses it's colors.
You're turning a GTX260 requiring game into a RTX2060 requiring game... It takes time
There’s a really cool mod that takes the vanilla hair models and gives them physics.
Just what I've been looking for. Just hope all the mods are still up! Cheers!
Unfortunately, Red Rocks 4k is no longer available on the Nexus. I don't know if it's available anywhere else.
I'm so lucky YESTERDAY I just STARTED RE-MODDING MY SKYRIM SE. YOU SAVE ME SO MUCH TIME. ThANK YOU A LOT!!!!!!!
I know you showed the old version. but is a perfect base line

Grayson Hatton Most of what Nate downloaded was from Predcaliburs 2018 mod guide which you can find by just googling 'predcalibur guide'.
Architexture - 2:26.
I see what you did there unintentionally. Nicely done.
thank you for having an excelent mod list that doesnt break my game
11:27 My teachers always said I needed to improve my participation
I lost my modded Skyrim two or three years ago when my PC bricked and I haven't played since. I wasn't sold on your mod list until I saw that Sweet Roll. My God.
I hope my plebeian 1070ti can handle it.
Scott Boyer Dang man that sucks
4:20 actually what he tries to say is that it adds more pixel count to a certain objects that look low res and with increased pixel density you get better looking image out of it, same as on monitor 720p monitor will have bigger pixels but lower count, whereas 1440p will have smaller pixels but bigger density or volume or count of them resulting in a better image quality
or for example a cinema, if you go near the display on which movie is playing, you will see pixels, even tho res is very high, but that seems like it only from afar because they adjust it base on distance from where you are sitting and the the movie playing, and here is almost the same, but while they do not expect you to just look objects from afar you will come close to them and the smaller the pixel count better graphics will be, almost as like they'd add more polygons
thank you for the explanation kind stranger
To this day this is still the most helpful mod video for Skyrim. 2yrs later I come back here to see what I want to use.
1:37 Smooth. . . real, real smooth.
its like hes preaching to the lowest common denominator and you eat his shit like its candy

newish to skyrim. played oblivion in 2009 was completely overwhelmed and put ES down. now as an adult im appreciating the games more and these mods make me really really appreciate the openness of these games as well.
Every time that I hear Oblivion music on a video it takes my heart.
In my mind I see the Roman numeral 4 turn into the IV in the title OBLIVION. #tearsofjoy
i just installed all these mods and now my Skyrim looks amazing..... thank you! (tho now i have to turn it down to High setting so i can get 100+ fps)
just for deciding whether to go all in with this list of mods, could you please tell me your exact system specs? :)

Why do you want 100 fps? That's beyond what your eye can detect - 60 fps is enough.
@@viron6734 I hope this is a joke, but if not:
Perhaps the eye cannot detect the difference 100fps and 60 as well as 60 to 30, but you can definitely *feel* the difference in terms of responsiveness, smoothness etc. You're pretty damn stupid if you believe that theres no difference between 60 and 100, sorry

what should the load order for this be? To ensure you get the best visuals and no mods are overwritten
What did you go with?
Its told in the right order
the enb he’s using is also EXTREMELY important, as with just the mods alone it doesn’t rlly change much
Loot. Use it always. Then tweak w experience.
True
So beautiful ☺️ 💕 I use Xbox but luckily was able to use most of them. Thank you!
Anyone else want to see the small mods?
Also Nate, what non-astetic mods do you use? Ex. Cutting Room Floor, Unofficial Patch, Cloaks and Capes?
I have been waiting for this forever i did not realize you already made it lmao thank you so much!!!!
I was hoping he was going to talk about Hype 1 Doors that he used. Of course its a small mod but as much as we go through doors its an improvement
This video burned my GPU to death. And now Nazeem keeps saying "Do you get to the RTX district very often?".

The only thing that's really demanding by today's average is the ENB, and it's not that bad.
@@Argonil I know, but it still serves as a great joke : ')
Just saying lol. Not everyone knows. :)
@@zihadeasin3796 What GPU do you have? I only have a 1060 and I can run this setup at 60fps.
@@Argonil And even then there's some ENBs that are lighter than others. If your PC packs a GTX 1060 then you're pretty much set. Just go easy on those 4K textures.

- Skyrim Flora Overhaul - www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2154 (I noticed that 3D Trees and plants really hurts my fps in forested areas)
- Grass Field(s) SE - www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/27444 (Personal choice obviously but I like this one because the grass isn't half a meter high and so it causes way less clipping trough all sorts of objects)

Having nice trees and texture mods is great, but when you look into the distance and see those 2D planks of trees and barely defined mountain texture it kinda breaks the immersion.
