You've made me stand firm on my decision of not cancelling my preorder.
Don't why would u do it ? I'm sure u will love it and pixels only get better overtime
@@gerard7417 I'm from India and I've always wanted Google to release its flagships here but until they start manufacturing them here they can't keep the price at par with the other places. It's my desire to own a pixel that I'm leaving my one plus 7 pro for a pixel 6a and i hope it doesn't disappoint me.
@@harmanpreetsingh1879 Ohhhh that's awesome , I'm glad your Pixel 6a with it's superior camera and Google's night sight is coming your way and don't worry i feel like India is in Google's future 👀
Great
@@harmanpreetsingh1879 same, trading in my OnePlus 6 for the Pixel 6a
I always appreciate your detailed and reasonable approach to your reviews. I admit that I'm a Pixel fanboy but I appreciate your frankness when it comes to what they really are. Big fan here my dude, keep doing your thing 👊🏿
Blessings 🙏🏿
I preordered. I think the phone will be a success. I've had my Pixel 4a for 2 years so I know what an a-series phone is, an inexpensive phone with the right (for me) corners cut. I also have a professional background in new product development and testing (not phones) and understand that buying this early, there most likely will be a few bugs to quash. I'm excited for my new Pixel!
Received replacement 5A yesterday. Preordered the 6A and traded in the 5A. Looking forward to getting the 6A with the a series ear buds.
Wow you and Juan Bagnell are some of the few Tech UA-camrs who know how to properly review tech! Agreed about the Samsung a series phones. They really aren't that great. I've sold all these phones as a mobile sales man for a couple years and the A series phones all we're coming back to the store with issues. The pixels on the other hand weren't.
Juan is solid
Biggest mistake I made with smartphones was selling the pixel 5
I have a s21 ultra and I bought the 6a as a kick around phone and I'm glad I did.Lets face it who wants to carry around a pocket behometh all the time?the pixel 6a is a good phone.
Nice. I agree. It is a good phone.
I received mine early today, and I love it. Thanks for your thoughts, I think these updates will help over the coming days. Fingerprint scanner is a bit slow but apart from that it's all good.
Glad to hear you're enjoying it.
Your point about people not knowing the refresh rates I agree with what you are saying somewhat. Don't forget about those of us who are tech savvy and are purchasing it for the sole purpose of saving money and having a reliable phone.
For sure. I don’t forget about that. Inn tech enthusiast and I’m enjoying the phone. It’s great for a lot of people. But hammering it for only being 60hz is not the way to go here.
@@TechOdyssey I concour
Hi. So I was watching another review of 6a from TheUnlockr. His phone doesn’t have the same speech recognition on his P6a as his P6. It’s at 12:15. How can that be? Can u confirm if possible? Thanks.
I pre-ordered every 'Pixel a'. The only thing I'm really concerned about is the unregistered fingerprint issue. I hope it's good to go when the phone releases.
I have had mine for just about 2 weeks now, and I could not be happier with the experience. I was also very realistic with my expectations and how this phone would fit my needs. As for the heat issue, just as you said in another video after about a week of use no heat issue anymore. And, the finger print sensor is working much better now than it did out of the box. Plus, I got $300 trade in for my 3a and the free earbuds; this is a no brainer. Overall, a fantastic phone that does it all and does it well.
Great insight and feedback. Glad you’re enjoying it.
How is the charging and refresh rate?
@@lokeshvishal988 no issues at all with either. Refresh rate is fast and no noticeable choppiness. The charge is also great. Continuous moderate to heavy use all day with plenty of charge left at the end of the day.
Excellent points. In 3 months the "haters" of this phone (after offering their judgement too soon) ... will look quite foolish.
I’m excited to get my 6A and earbuds, I tried a 4 that I bought on eBay for under $100 and enjoyed it despite the battery issue making the phone show it’s age. Regardless if they give me $290 or $265, the trade in deal makes it too good to ignore so I went with it. I got the Sage Green buds to match my phone, I’m excited to order my cases and screen saver on Amazon.
I’m expecting this 6A will last longer with daily use than my 12 mini which currently hasn’t been nearly as good as it was during the first year unfortunately.
I turned off 5g on the pixel 6a and it lasted like 2x longer 💀
@@jesus5258 that’s good, I rather have strong reliable 4G than subpar 5G. Especially when it’s more straining to the phone.
Hey good catch on the security and software still being the April patch I think you're probably right once it gets the May and June a lot of the problems will be fixed
I've seen a lot of videos of other people and nobody has gone to such depth review. Thanks brother. Love from India
Love to my fellow pixel fan
I ordered the 6A & returned it the next day. The finger sensor wasn't opening the phone. You had to push it several times. I also have the 4A & it opens up quickly with no problem. Plus I like the sensor in the back of the phone.
Your stand for pixel 6 series is letting me acknowledge current pixel series and future pixel series. Make more videos like this. Need more utubers like you. Best video.
So I have had Pixel phones since the 2XL which had a nice 1440p screen but decided not to spend upwards of $1000 for a replacement when the updates ended. Staying in the Google ecosystem, I had the 4A and then upgraded to the 5A for the 5g my base 4A didn't have. I was waiting on the 6A to get the extra power from the tensor chip since the 5A picture processing was slow for fast action picture taking. Then the 6 Pro was on sale for $699 and has all the features that I was looking for including the speed of the tensor chip, yup bought it...love it. So my 5A was going to be my fishing, boating and hiking phone so as to keep the 6 pro out of harms way. Then I saw you say that Google would give me $300 trade in and a free set of Pixel A buds. So for $50+ I have a 6A on preorder to be my fishing, boating and hiking phone with the tensor chip and no doubt a better experience than my 5A. ;)
i have pre-ordered pixel 6a in india which i was eagerly waiting to do since its announcement at google I/O, since then i have been watching so many reviewers reviewing commenting about this mobile, mostly everyone is speaking about screen refresh rate, heating issues, and expecting it to be buggy too which worried me a little . ur the only one who spoke practically about it not as reviewer(or tech enthusiast) but you spoke from users perspective which really helps to judge the decision taken. which cleared all my hesitations abt my decision and made me to see wht i was looking for. this mobile might not be the best value for money in india wtr to raw performance and 120 hz refresh rate, but leaving those two aspects this mobile checks all other boxes of flag ship mobile or mobiles in this price range in india and does better than those to thats wht i feel so. one thing one should keep in mind that no mobile is perfect, every mobile needs improvement thats why there is always a newer model that comes a year later haha...... again thankyou for giving a practical view abt the mobile.
Did you recieve your phone yet ? How's its thermals looking?
Thanks! Noone else seems to be talking about those details.
Thanks for this video. I've ordered mine as soon as it went live for preorder, Since then I've been trying my best to ignore all those negative videos out there about pixel6a cause deep down I knew it be fixed with updates.
I would request you to make a video on pixel6a camera and its videos/pics processing quality on apps like Instagram.
Lol.. This would imply that people need to "reasonably think about it" which people are not all about right now. It's all about controversy and are attracted to drama. Thanks for making this video and talking about this. My pixels have been my best purchases in a long time.
So I found a problem with my screen. It’s had to show because I see it on the screen when I’m sunlight and when I try to take a photo of it the banding on the screen gets in the way.
It’s a small square on the top of the screen under the camera and off to the left when viewing a white screen. Could be my unit just wanted to see if anyone else is having this problem.
yeah, one last day for the trade-in preorder price. the trade in price is worth whatever the headaches for the first month.
Great advice taking into account and context how the phone was before the updates and after the updates. Considering purchasing this phone or a Samsung A53/54 or possibly an S23 series. Any thoughts? Thanks
I’m not well versed on the A54. I highly recommend the S23 series phones. They’re excellent. A huge jump up from the S22 series.
People are biased because of either Apple or Samsung even though I have a Samsung I’m looking towards the Pixel series for me and my wife. I got her the 6A and I’ll be waiting for the Pixel 7 Pro. Because I need a better experience Samsung doesn’t seem like it holds up I have the S20 FE.
I recorded UHD 30 fps video on my A71 5G no case about 5 minutes split across 2 vises. While the phone got hot it did not overheat.
I notice it doesn't have two button navigation but has three and gesture - hopefully they patch this. As a visually impaired man I am used to two but I guess they will update it hopefully - looking forward to the update
Keep up the great work man!
My 6a freezes and crashes while using apps that access the camera (specially Snapchat) but the camera app itself works fine. Any fix for this would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for the review - it does make sense to wait for the security update and see if most of these issues are taken care of. My biggest concern right now is that my 6a is giving me network issues - most apps take ages to load on mobile data - so thinking of going for a replacement as the window is open till 5th of this month. Could you please let me know ur views on this issue as well?
I have a 3A that needs to be upgraded ASAP because of security, and the
I’m hoping tensor 2 takes google assistant n speech recognition to a whole new level. Especially with pixel watch integration. I do wish google would have slightly better quality control when releasing new products. With watch n tablet coming, they can really compete with apple ecosystem, if they don’t f up the launch. Competition better for the consumer. I can see crazy trades ins coming for Apple Watch n iPads so google can get u on their products.
Got my 6a today in the morning (UK), and was playing with it all day - and absolutely love it! No issues so far, no overheating as well.
But can't say the same about pixel buds A - not a fan how they stay in the ears. My old good Samsung buds much comfortable.
My battery still drains on standby with just stock apps installed. gets hot at any usage. Finger print sensor doesn't work properly and I get no signal with Xfinity!!
Thank you thank you for being the first one to recognize the fact that the a53 is no match for the pixel 6 A.
Sure thing!
Good video. Mine should be with me tomorrow looking forward to it. Thanks for the information in you video. Just subscribed 👍
Google should have had the common sense to have the patches ready when they shipped the pre-lease 6a's this week.
My only issue with reporting issues is did you report the issues to Google.
How are they to fix issues if the first thing many ppl do and only do is run to social media?
Upgraded from the 3axl
The issue I had with the 6a was how when I would switch from an app it would lag..... The update I just did solved it however Idk if it would act up again.
Had mine 2 weeks and it is downloading continuously which no one can stop. Auto update on or off in play store makes no difference. Network reset...no help. 6a pixel...help
Mark of MarksTech told me to watch your video about the problem of the Pixel 6a. Great video Sir ❤️✌️ thanks for the heads up 😬
Thanks for stopping by! Glad you enjoyed the video.
If anyone at Google is reading this, I have a few suggestions.
I come from Samsung, I'm happy with my Pixel 6 Pro, I want to go further with it, but there are some positive aspects of Samsung that Pixel can adopt.
1. When you make a call on Samsung, you can hear a sound in the headset when you answer and when you hang up and/or a vibration. I know that on the Pixel you can hear the sound, but it is related to notifications and the ring. 2. Ring and notifications have the same volume, I would prefer them to be separate. 3. On the Samsung, I had a notification in the sms that told me when the message was delivered to the recipient, in which case the phone was closed or had no signal, I knew exactly when he received my message. 4. And the "dual" option was also nice, I could have two Facebook, WhatsApp accounts...
On the hardware side, some improvements could be made:
1. Fingerprint sensor.
2. weak GSM reception,
3. Bluetooth audio not very good,
4. Tensor heats up and won't let me film sometimes.
5. ultrawide sensor wider and with macro.
What do you think?
Just received the 6a today and the software update was available. Downloaded the update and headed off to my daughter's house. The cell reception was horrendous. Completed the update at my daughter's house on wifi, and the cell reception was greatly improved on the way back home.
Exactly one of the things I was talking about. Glad to hear it's better. I'm still waiting for the update.
Weird thing, I don't know a single person who's got pixel 6 series phone who's experienced any issues.
That's great!
@tech odyssey Where is the link to your BBM link.
Juan Bagnell is legit. He's debunked a lot of the BS that MKBHD has said about certain phones in the past. Juan's reviews are thoughtful, intelligent and of substance. 👍🏻
MKBHD is tired of being an unpaid temp Pixel Beta Tester for Google. Marquees wants what most of us want for Google to stop repeating the same mistakes.
I don't feel what MKBHD said was BS. It was his thoughts. And he did say he felt other 60hz screen phones performed better. Maybe his unit is not the best? Or maybe his eyes just love 120hz? We need reviewers to continue to apply pressure to all of these companies to make great products and as a consumer, we need to speak with our wallets if we don't like a product instead of purchasing and complaining, as we all do not have a choice.
@@MatthewMoscotto 120hz isn teven needed on a phone , it's all marketing gimicks
Finally sold my Pixel 6 Pro and bought a Z Fold 3; I think the only reason people look down on the 6a is because of the disastrous start of the 6 and 6 Pro line up. At this point, the trust of the consumer needs to be built back up and this won’t happen over night. Probably why people are sacking this phone so hard.
Lol what trust , millions love the Google Pixel recently got the Google pixel 6 I traded it for my 5 and I'm in love as per usual so I don't know what your deal is
@@gerard7417 have you lived under a rock the last 9 months or so lol? A lot of people had issues with their Pixels, in fact a majority of users did. That’s why nearly every video about the pixel 6 line up says something about bugs being fixed or present. If you’re coming from the Pixel 5 you might be fine with it but those coming from a premier flagship phone like Samsung or Apple, you’re going to notice a lot of flaws in performance and small issues that can be bothersome.
@@superiortoall22 i am glad to say 7 months later the overheating is non existent with their software updates
I'm one that don't care about refresh rate. I'd like to lower it to 60 and get some extra battery life. Hmm, I wonder if I can reduce the refresh on my Pixel 5
Just wanna add one thing ... the greatness of googles software prowess on pixels show up after a month to six months after any new pixel launch . This initial 1-6 months is the hardest for pixel owners (due to bugs ,issues) .if you can live past this, the experience is absolutely worth it .no kidding, but j have my 3-4 year old pixel 3a running android 12 and running absolute butter smooth (minus the degraded battery life after so many years) ...not to mention, the camera prowess , which overall under any conditions, any time of the day , any month pf the year, will most often shoot the best images !!!
That’s great, but how can you really put that into an argument to justify that to a consumer? “Hey this phone is great after about 6+ months if you can ride it out? Good luck?”
@@TechOdyssey thats the reason it dont sell that well in my country .Because you can't ..the real users who sre aware of this buy / stick with their phones .else most markets are flooding with Chinese value for money phones that last great for a year or year and half and then never see any updates
got it 8/26/22 fingerprint reader really sucks, all updated and reregistered prints 2x.
I bought the Samsung Galaxy a53 one and a half weeks ago and I could not stand it so I took it back and I got the Google Pixel 6A and I am absolutely in love
I saw some reviews stating it didn’t have the updated voice to text that many have been raving about. Is that true? I ordered one and one of the things I’m really looking forward to
It does not have that feature unfortunately. I just saw that same thing in a review I watched last night and they mentioned it there. Really sucks.
Your positive videos on Pixel 6A are pushing me to preorder, trading in my 4A 5G (already preordered for my wife). I was hoping that I want to wait for 7 or 7A as 4A 5G is going strong but now I am seriously considering ordering this before the deadline today. Decisions.. decisions. lol
Deals aren't going anywhere. I don't think they mind shooting themselves in the foot because of that reason :))
Do it you won't regret it
@@milanthakkar9493 I am at a later date might pick up the pixel 7 or 7pro
My wife bought 6A and it seems okay. To be honest finger print scanner is better than Pixel 6.

That's a great price!

how is the connectivity on 6a?
Yes, I didn't know about refresh rate and the other stuff you talked about. I really like it. Came with free ear buds and has a great monthy service price from Google Fi. @o4liberty - Hey can I please ask you about the Pixel 6A? Has it been a good ownership experience? I have a family member who needs an affordable phone, her old LG is on its last leg. None of us in our family care about high end specs, but the phone has to be reliable for pictures, phone calls and texting, but we don't do any games on our phones so that's not a concern. I also have read that the 6A can run hot, and that's the only concern that I have. I am just trying to determine if it's a good phone for my sister. Any feedback you can offer would be very helpful.

Nope. Not yet. Files aren’t available yet.

Very good insight!
Can someone please let me know what I need to do to make my pixel 6 pro charge faster on a Samsung trio charging pad. My BF s22u charges from 0-100 in about 2 hours. My pixel 6 pro takes 6-8 hours to charge 0-100. Any advice will help.
Are you talking about wired charging or wireless?
@@TechOdyssey wireless
I think Im offended... yes, I'm moving from the 4A to the 6A, but that doesnt mean I don't know about refresh rates & spec's.. I've been following Android Tech for many years and I'm well aware of the Mid Range specs on this phone.. I've just decided that personally I don't need a Flagship phone, nor spend the money on one..Today's Mid Range phones do everything I need at half the price of a Flagship device..
Here's my comparison... you can be a car enthusiast and be perfectly aware that your $85k Corvette is a "mid range" sports car compared to a Flagship $250k Lamborghini and yet still have a hard time wiping the grin off your face everytime you start it up...
It’s all in what you need. I had the one plus 7 pro and 9. 90hz was nice but killed my battery so tan the phone at 60 for the most part and really never saw a difference. The 9 on the other hand felt great at 120 and really gave a big upgrade feeling to the device. That being said ALL of my tvs and displays are 60hz and I feel it could be really jarring looking from my phone to my pc monitor. So I’ve decided to just stick with 60 as it’s good enough and saves my battery and performance in the long run. Would 120 or 90 be nice to have as an option? Absolutely but is not a Necessity for me
Anyone with the 6a, please turn off 5g it makes the battery life so much better and negates any heat
Does anyone have any idea , when pixel 7 and 7 pro is going to be released ??
October
Won't be available in india.
I have the pixel 6 and pixel 6 pro and I have noticed my pixel 6 pro dies faster than my pixel 6 it's kinda annoying lol 😂
Besides that I've loved my pixel 6 pro personally. Luckily it's not my only 2 phones I carry up to 12 phones that are all active but I really think the pixel line up is cool
Likely it’s the QHD+ display and 120hz refresh rate. It burns through the battery faster.
@@TechOdyssey but something sadly I do not desire to turn off lmao 🤣 would totally defeat the purpose of a pixel 6 pro you know?
@@brothamantech8861 u don't need to turn it off but yeah that phone is a beast with beast specs so it makes sense the battery will drain rather quick good thing it has fast charging and battery saver mode
If you paid for it( unless dying at points of the day where you are not near a charger) then use it. Always power saver to keep it going in a pinch. There is always a down side to all those extra features
@@midnitestate yeah I've been using the power saving mode currently and it's alright. I like the phone like I said my only complaint is battery life is my only dilemma honestly.
Maybe companies shouldn't release their products to reviewers when they know of these problems. Almost every tech product these days comes out unfinished expecting updates. Personally I think we should give their products as much shit as they deserve.
Not to be pixel negative but have they really fixed the fingerprint sensor? Bluetooth? Signal? There are many videos that show these problems are still around.
Install the Android 13 beta. Installed it on my 6 pro fingerprint sensor issues and a bunch of other issues have been resolved. My phone doesn't really overheat unless I go outside and it's a hundred plus degrees outside like 99° in the phones on the Wi-Fi Bluetooth everything's on then. Of course, any phone is going to overheat but other than that normal usage going outside. Everything works. This phone is perfectly fine with Android 13
It’s not controversial, people just uptight. And it’s only UA-camrs at this point and that’s what UA-camrs do they nitpick they’re not the common everyday person who will buy
Nice! You know you just pissed off all the apple and samdung fanboi's...right... 😆 I love it though, honestly only Juan (who you named) takes that approach. Well said and you've got a new subscriber. I have a 4a 5g...how can I do the turn-in for the 6a?
They gave me 263 trade-in on my very broken screen 4a 🤣 heck ya I'll upgrade to a 6a for 200 bucks and get a set of pixel buds to boot

When I wanted to buy something I always looked at more reviews than 1 (or from 1 person). It is not a good when someone is defending pixel in this many videos. Google smartphones have been a mess in last years and a lot of people have experienced a lot of hardware issues by every pixel launch. Not every pixel is bad or defect but it is VERY important to mention that so the customer knows what possibly can happen to their pixel. As you mentioned in the US a lot of pixel buyers are casual people that really do not know what they are buying.. but not in Europe. Here pixel is just something for the tech people or geeks.. absolute casual buys samsung or iphone. And those people just want the best things.. of course camera is marvelous but if you can buy 90hz refresh rate screen for 200€ .. then why would you buy pixel 6a .. does not have headphone jack, no 90Hz refresh rate. These things are nothing for a casual buyer but the tech "andy" does the research and makes a conclusion.. Samsung even has a longer support for android updates than GOOGLE pixel and that is a joke. I speak for myself that if I should choose i would pick pixel 6 minumum. Where I live there is no preorder, no bonus, nothing. Pixel is even overpericed. They sell the pixel 6a for 500 $ (495 exactly). and pixel 6 we can buy for 600 $. Noone sane would buy this pixel 6a when we have here a lot of competition form china .. and samsung A53 is 100$ cheaper than pixel 6a. 💀
yea A53 is better if you value the higher refresh rate over the power of the tensor chip, the features of a full google OS, picture quality, the smaller more compact sized phone ...
A53 is laggy. Have seen few reviews about a53 being laggy and the SoC can't cope up with the 120hz display.
@@vancekang there is a lot more than just a53 there is Poco, xiaomi, oppo, OnePlus, vivo, 🤷♂️
@@5t4lk3r00 compact phones or bulky?
@@vancekang real compact phone is only iphone SE or iphone mini or Samsung Galaxy S22. Pixel 6a is far from compact phone.. pixel 4a was compact.
Please suggest the charger of it and kindly note I am from 🇮🇳
I think Google knows about these issues and that's why they gave the earbuds for free. Plus they increased trade-in value of your phone.
They will probably do something similar with the pro buds or watch. As a sorry for some of the problems that people have experienced.
Pixel is like a wine, improves with time. Only thing is in India lot of taxes to buy this phone.
That's what I hear. That stinks
My phone turns off when I try to make a call!!
Is android 13 available for the pixel a ?
I meant android 13 beta
Not as of yet.
Great review. 👍🏻
WOW today 6a is 299. Is my 1000 dollar iphone 14 pro really worth it....
Fingerprint Scanner on this phone is whats killing sales to many like me. Unfortunately, I have to pass. Sticking with my 5a and Motorola
You missed a great phone. The fingerprint is fine just like the s22
@@tinosqindis1184 I bought the Google Pixel 7 Pro.. GREAT PHONE and got it for $399..Great Deal and phone.
@@billycaputo6077 you missed out buddy , this phone is awesome
@@wesleybinion I bought the Google pixel 7 and it's better. Very fastfingerprintscanner
@@billycaputo6077 oh ok
This phone is incredible especially the value you're getting for it Google tensor in a budget phone found in the Google pixel 6 pro with 5 years of software updates can't get better than that
What if the fingerprint issue is a hardware issue affecting only some of the units. Google hasn't yet put out a statement and that's suspicious tbh.
Ok phone , you should do a update to galaxy A51 4G I have it and has android 12 4.1
