This is basically the CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) here in the UK, and with that you can only ride a scooter or a 125cc Motorbike, Although you will do more of this going for the next level or full A licence. The licensing then gets a little complicated depending on your age so I won't confuse and bore you with the A1, A2 and A licence Mod 1 and Mod 2 information 😂
@@KawasakiZH For the A1, A2 and A licence you do have to do a theory test and a hazard perception test beforehand. A1 allows scooter and 125cc motorbike riders to ride without L-plates and don't have to redo the test every two years as they would on the CBT. A2 allows youngsters who have been riding for two years to ride anything 49bhp and below, some higher powered bikes can be restricted and ridden. Then after two years or when over 24 years old you can go for the full unrestricted A licence. If you are over 24 when you decide biking is for you you can go for the full licence straight away, but the CBT will be part of your training still, before training for the Module 1 and Module 2 tests.
Love the training videos because I get to see what not to do before I go out and do it. But above all it tells me I seriously need more practice in all weather conditions.
Fun fact: in Italy and some other EU countries the cone exercise you show at the beginning is done to pass the license test. The difference is the cones are at 13 feet distance and you have to do it much slower. Also the U turn is also 13 feet wide. You have to do it in more than 25 seconds, anything less and no license for you.
In some of the EU countries you also get to Lane Filter/Split. It makes sense to learn slow weave to get your license when you will be slowing going in between cars. In Amerika, it being car-centric and anti-smallVehicles (including motorcycles and scooters) they don't make us do the slow weave to get a license because when would we be legally using it on the road? 100% agree that if/when we get lane splitting nationally legal, (in about 50-150 years) that we should implement this training to get a license.

Hi Carolyn: Thanks for another great video. I’m 70 year old retired firefighter (retired 12 years ago) with chronic back pain. I’ve been practicing some of your (and motojitsu’s) drills. I was practicing U turns at the high school parking lot, trying to achieve the 16 foot U turn (2 parking spaces). I was good at 20-25 feet and when I attempted the 16 foot U turn, I dropped my 2012 BMW 1200RT, putting some nasty scratches on my side case. First thing I thought was “what would Doddle do!” I tried unsuccessfully to pick it up, when I nice lady with a huge barking dog came and helped me. I thanked her and she said to her dog “come on HARLEY let’s go! Guess I should get some crash guards? Thanks again for being YOU!
WTF? Welcome To Florida! You definitely came down during the rainy season. You looked great! 1) It’s not easy doing these exercises. 2) it’s harder to do them in the rain. 3) it can be done. Great content Doodle! Keep up the great work.
I cannot wait to sign up for Jerry's course. And on a side note, your videos are well loved and catching on. I only did my MSF for the first time 2 months ago. I mentioned you in the classroom portion. Just casually I was like, 'I was watching a motorcycle youtuber. Her channel is Doodle on...' and the teacher was like, 'oh, sure! I love watching Doodle...' and then 30% of the class was like, 'yea, that's a great channel...' Well done! I'm right outside of Charlotte and did my MSF in Upstate SC. The community really enjoys your videos! And the ones that didn't know, know now!
That's pretty awesome! I've been subscribed to Doodle's channel since April of 2018, I'm so glad to see that she is getting her recognition in the motorcycle community.
Thanks for sharing this. I had finally listened to you and started practicing U turns in a parking lot and it has completely changed how well I ride. Thanks for all the motivation! I’m glad you point out the need for people to practice even after taking a class. Many safe miles to you and all who follow on bikes.
I have practiced after watching this and others. I'm now accused of "showing off" while busting full lock figure-eights while waiting for friends to fuel up. It feels kinda great~
This was really helpful to hear Jerry's (and your) feedback during the course. I took the local version to me of this same course and I did not do well at all. Did much worse than I thought I would. I didn't "click" with their feedback. What Jerry was doing here was very good and your video content as usual is awesome. Thanks!
Excellent video to share with our students in beautiful British Columbia, Canada. Much the same we teach/coach to our new traffic officers at VicPD as well as Washington State Patrol. Thanks so much folks..
I love that he stopped and waited at each step to make sure everyone got it before moving on! at my first permit MSF course I failed the test bc I just wasn't ready and it wasn't going at a comfortable pace for me. After practicing alone in a lot and with some help at my own pace, it has been so much more helpful. It's so great to see good leaders and teachers who are respectful and patient in their craft and want to see you succeed.
It is great watching others learn things us old guys take for granted. In the 70s most every kid had an Enduro bike. These bikes were anywhere from 75 to 350cc. We had gravel pits and many trails to learn in. After thrashing our bikes in the pits we then rode the bike home ,to school, or to do paper routes. It was a great time to be a teenager. Keep practicing and making videos.
The pouty look on your face when you had to pose beside Joe Go with his trophy was priceless! I don't follow Joe (not enough time in a day), but Doodle is on my Subscribed list! Very well done!
A lot of courses are a waste of money conducted by ego driven instructors who talk too much and so confuse the student. This course was nothing like that. The group participants appeared to be a good crowd as well. I have been riding 41 years and still found this interesting and informative. Doing it in the rain in a controlled situation also increases your confidence for when you are caught out in it. I would like to have tried that course on my Triumph Rocket III. Outstanding video as usual.
Watching this motor training brought back great memories of my own motor training when I was working. One of the best assignments I ever worked. Keep up the great content and stay safe!
Thanks Doodle! You’re an inspiration to both the wife and I. My wife fell in love with a RoadGlide Limited at the end of riding season last year. I think your videos have inspired her and she is a much more capable rider because of them. We would both love to participate in Jerry’s class someday. We both do spend time at a near by parking lot quite frequently. Thanks.
I love these full training videos. I've been practicing my u-turns and slow maneuvers thanks to you. I'm only a year in with my first bike, and I'm loving it. Thanks for the encouragement.
Great content Doodle!!!!! It just shows that practice makes perfect..... and you are one of Jerry's favorite students..... ;-) Sorry that you had to do all the riding/practice in 100% of the 70% of the predicted rain. Thanks again Doodle!!! Be safe and Blessed!!!!

Great video Doodle as usual. This was helpful for me to see and here how it is done. Since I can not afford to cross the country to sign up for Jerry's class.
Hi Doddle a great little video. Your slow riding skills have really developed. Now for a challenge, come and apply them by visiting the UK and ride some of our beautiful narrow country roads. They are full of twist and turns, and many of the roads are no wider than a car....😊
I've been driving cars for 12 years and just now started working on getting my motorcycle license. It's so weird being more comfortable at like 50-100 km/h rather than 1-10 km/h... first few lessons i had with my instructor i was sweating bullets and holding on for dear life going around the cones, but actually relaxing at high speeds.😂 I hope that someday i can work up the courage and be half as brave as you! Keep posting videos, because you're really inspiring me to learn more and try even though i might be scared!
Thank you for sharing your experiences. It's like you are bringing those courses to us. Unfortunately, a motorcycle safety course is the only option available in my area. Looking forward to your new videos!

Great job! But why do you give yourself so little space while doing the snowman? You start your turns so tight that you easily have another meter of space before hitting the cones. Going a little wider would make for an easier turn/circle, which could be a bit more forgiving in case you make any mistakes, but also would give you more space on the road and in your head to properly assess the situation.
