Enable maximize compatibility in your iPhone hotspot settings. You shouldn’t have to, I have the older version of this media device and it connects to my 15 fine. But who knows, android is a fickly bitch lol. Hope this helps yall.

i have mmb 3.0 8/128. It lags like hell in my car and none of the apps are compatible as it has android 10. Is there a way to upgrade to android 13. I cannot beleive that I wasted 23k on this.

In My Oppinion the MMB Max 4.0 is exactly the same as MMB Max 5.0 if we are speaking of Software. If we are speaking of Hardware... the MMB 5.0 is 20% faster but lacks a HDMI in comparisson to the MMB 4.0. Cant follow your thougts regarding your recommendation. Can you clarify if there are other benefits using MMB 5.0 over MMB 4.0 i maybe overlooked?
MMB Max 5.0 is my recommendation as it is a much faster and a stable device, but if you are looking for an HDMI connection than you will have to get Max 4 or Otto P3 models. That's the only main difference.
I own MMB Max 4.0 (same software same android Version, only with slightly slower SOC). I am having issues with the shortcuts. There are Apps that appear as a shortcut, but after a restart they disappear... about 50% of all apps cannot be saved to the shortcuts ... for example "Chrome". Pretty annoying. Next problem: i can't disable the floating button, the option has simply no effect... if it would save the last position of the floating button it would be less annoying... but this is not the case, too. Overall lets say "It works, and there is no better option on the market", but if you consider what hardware you get and how old and buggy the software is... the price is way too high. There are no updates, MMB Official responds with standard-texts and doesn't offer help at all. I guess they know there is no better option to their product 😞
I have not tested the Max 4 model myself, but the system should be the same as Max 5.0. I suggest you either update the firmware with the latest version or try resetting it. You can also contact them for support: Sales@joyeauto.com

Hi Chaz, when the MMB starts up it tells me to disconnect my iphone. But then I cannot press the green carplay button to go to carplay. I want to be able to go back and forth seemlessly between carplay and mmb. Please advise. Thanks.
Did you need to disconnect the iphone before connecting the Android? I have android and wofe has iphone. My phone was working fine but since my wife added her iphone i can use Adroud Auto. Is there a way to switch between users who are connected?

I tried to go to the home screen and switch to CArPlay but it doesn't pick up her phone. When you press on either AA or CarPlay you can press on MMB Bluetooth and that takes you to the connected device. Both our devices show and it shows me connected. I switch but it still defaults to my phone and AA
What device and system homepage layout do you like better from this device or Carbotics CP2D? Also, I noticed in your Carbotics review it had more UA-cam video tiles on the screen and this had only a vertical list of videos. Can this device give the more video tile layout?
I have always liked the MMB device in terms of the UI and overall performance. This new Max 5.0 model is quite superior vs other devices because of the fast and more stable processor. You can change the display size to get more content on the screen

Hi Chaz last question. Got everything working on the MMB box, question is i have a few movies that I downloaded on the micro card they say mv4 and none play with any of the video players I installed , the videos that I recorded on my iphone do play any thoughts
I tried different formats like mov mp4 and they all worked. The m4v doesnt have universal compatibility, so I suggest you convert those files into Mp4. By the way, there are special m4v video players on the play store

I’ve got exactly the same issue, I’m in the UK and it just says saved and then tries to configure but fails.

You can only connect to one system at a given time, CarPlay or Android Auto. But you can move to the native Android system back and forth any time.

There is GPS issue with this MMB box, keep change route and rotating while using Waze or Google map. Anyone facing same issue?
It worked perfectly fine when I tested it in my car. Try uninstalling and then reinstalling these navigation apps. Also, try the Yango maps app
