So essentially a lower screen resolution and lower texture size, aside of this, same game with same level of detail. And you can grab it with you and play anywhere... impressive overall.

And that's okay for me, I played Witcher 3 and Kingdom Come in Switch, so far there's no complaint at all. Being able to play these AAA games anywhere I go, anywhere I want is the real deal
A bit reduced lighting quality and a few shaders too. But overall a very impressive switch port for sure!

Yeah the switch never fails to impress me with what games it can play: stray, hogwarts legacy, rocket league, Lego Jurassic world, crash 4, saints row, bioshock infinite, no man’s sky, super Mario 3d allstars, doom eternal, little nightmares 1 and 2, Zelda breath of the wild, bio mutant, assassins creed, among the sleep, it takes two, the Witcher, endless ocean - also love how light and small the console is which makes it perfect for travelling

@@knuclear200x bro what, i never said it was anything amazing. i just said it was impressive that they got it to work at all. literally just because its not the same power as another console doesn't mean some people can't enjoy it or that its completely bad. the port certainly does not look too good though. get a life, it isn't that serious you just want something to hate on.

I'm a Graphic Engineer, just watching this video I'll tell you the techniques they will use to optimize it for switch. This game is made in Unreal Engine, first of all in UE there is an option for the game to run as Mobile, this will start to create some Shaders optimizing only for low-end-devices, second notice that they turned off the Ambient Occlusion for the grass and several 3D objects, this to save performances, third almost nothing has Shadow in real time, all the shadows use a Bake Lighting System so that the shadows are there, but they are not realtime. For this reason you will notice the shadows as blurry. Fourth they lowered the polygons of the 3D model of the cat and the environment. Including the cat's hair now it has less resolution, it has less polygons and that's why it looks pixelated. Fifth, they lowered the resolution of the textures of all the 3D models, looking closely they are between 512x512 to 1024x1024 no more than that. And finally the Post Process Effect, to create a fog environment, blur effects and etc, that was optimized for mobile and almost completely eliminated since that also consumes a lot of performance. These are just a few steps, not counting other extra SHADERS and Low End Graphic optimizations that the engineers would work on together with the Nintendo Switch SDK to make this port run at a minimum of 30 frames.
Obviously it's graphically inferior to the PS5, but I'll be damned if it ain't still an impressive port.

@@Garou_7-0 Tecnicamente la Nintendo Switch es más potente que una Play 3, y GTA V salió originalmente en Play 3, perfectamente lo puede correr, ahora que pongas ejemplos tan basura como el MK 1 o GTA Trilogy que le pusieron 0 empeño, habla de lo poco que sabes y Witcher 1 se ve y va bastante bien PARA LO QUE ES LA SWITCH, una consola portatil y de paso más barata, obviamente se vera peor siempre que la PLAY 5 y Xbox, pero nunca podras jugar Doom Eternal, Stray o The Witcher de manera portatil con Xbox ni Play

Según muy buena consola y solo 3 ports "buenos" saben mencionar, pero bueno no es que Nintendo no lo aguante es que va 2 generaciones atrasadas
realmente hicieron un buen trabajo, esta perfecto para la pantalla de swicth y mas para jugarlo portable, no deberia sorprenderme tanto porque realmente los niveles son cerrados y no hay tantos objetos en movimiento en las areas, se podra decir que el vacio del juego lo utilizan para crear graficos en los ambientes como las texturas, iluminacion, reflejos, etc. por eso no se ve tan forzada la swicth al correrlo

This was the nicest surprise of yesterday's Nintendo Direct. I wanted to play Stray on my Switch but wasn't expecting it to happen. I'm so thrilled that it did.
To be clear, I'm not here to criticize but to praise the work done to this port. I can say it looks as good as it can, working around the graphical limitations of the Switch, and it delivers a great atmosphere. And, honestly, I'm getting it for the story, not for the ultra-realistic graphics companies are so interested in selling us nowadays.
Can't wait to finally play it!

I've been benchmarking since last year and knew this game would eventually come to Switch, I'm glad it did!
I honestly don't care anymore about graphics. I have sold all my High End PCs and hardware, and just have the Steam Deck and consoles. Switch and PS4 games look great on my 4K TV from 4m (12ft) distance. I was very hesitant to play Elden Ring on my TV from my Steam Deck since I though 720p would look awful, but it looked great. So, I don't care anymore. As long as the experience is great, I'm happy with playing a great game.

Are you fucking blind? They're not even fucking close. The textures have been dumbed down to quarter res, and the resolution itself looks worse than most DVD videos which were practically phased out well over a decade ago.
Honestly the visual style in the switch version looks amazing👍 it kind of reminds me of the graphic novel artstyle, which actually matches the tone of the game as the stories basically something you’d see out of a graphic novel👍
Another great addition to the amazing Nintendo Switch library of games! Seriously, if I had to choose only one gaming platform for life it would be Nintendo Switch.

If they can get Stray to run this decently on Switch, devs shouldn't be whining so much about making ports for the Series S.
Granted, the Switch is obviously outselling the Series S by huge margins.
The Series Xbox have the same games. The only reason they didn't port it is because nobody buys xbox anymore.

Especially for an outdated reduced tegra x1 15w~ (max) tablet, which runs even lower most of the time at 4 -7w. Now look at the power consumption of PS5... it is really amazing that you can have all these games on a small system like that.

Actually,they are.this proves that graphical fidelity has decreased over the last 2 console generations.pushing more polys is not going to make a game that much more real looking.its not like the difference from the ps1 to the ps2 era.
i'll bought to replay it on switch i guess, the optimization is not too aggressive after all and i really enjoy this game when i bought it "day one"

Same thing just blurry. PS5 runs on 4k right? And a switch runs on 720p so it still looks good. Just slightly smooth.
I wonder if they rewrote a lot of the textures, the PS5 version looks kind of clean even with the dirty walls, but the Switch version looks like it could stink with the dirt.
