Ok but making the car actually fast will ultimately ruin it. What makes the car so fun is that it’s a challenge to drive fast. It’s small and light with not a lot of power and it means you have to learn and get really good at carrying the momentum of the car through corners. Putting a very powerful engine in the car will ruin that balance. A little more power won’t hurt it, but more than 100hp will ruin it’s balance.
One thing I love about this is the fact that honestly that 660cc will sip on the nitrous even at 50hp with that bottle.

Actually, a nitrous setup is independent of engine size. A 50 shot is a 50 shot whether it’s on a kei car or a 700ci pro stock mountain motor.
@@ImInLoveWithBulla yeah my wording was not the best. I meant even at 50hp, which would be a huge amount for the engine, a 10lb bottle will last forever. Something like 4 minutes of continuous spray. Also mountain motors are “technically” 820 ci and higher. I only know this because the mountain motor guys made jokes to my uncle when he switched from a 632 tall deck to a 740 hemi head motor. They always used to say “you’re almost there”😂.

Key things with Nitrous, inspect your spark plugs often, don’t use below 4,000rpm.

400m absolute? Or is that some kind of proportional thing? Cuz 4k doesn't give you much of a powerband on something like an LS if it's an absolute number.
@@Drunken_Hamster It’s proportional but even so the later you use it the safer it is, depends on how big of a shot and the amount of air drawn into the cylinders. If you have a very aggressive cam at low RPM where you have valve overlap and low vacuum it can destroy inlets or worse.
You can UA-cam nitrous backfire compilation, I’m sure that’s got to be a thing 😂

Man... you killed it with the exhaust, the motor sounds so good! You are into the nitrous for a G... The move would have been a used C-15 series Rotrex A/W or non-intercooled with simple PWM boost reference on the stock fuel system/ECU... IMO would have suited the engine perfectly! Probably could have been done for $1500-1700.
On my GD3 with the low boost kraftwerks kit same as above setup (non-intercooled) it was good for 30WHP on the dyno and dead reliable. (C15-60 Rotrex W/restrictor to 5PSI)
Cheap parts disappoint. Where have I heard that story before?

Also i would like to add to all the people that say to put an inline 4 motorcycle engine in it, i think a 3 cylinder bike engine would suit it better like an mt-09's engine since one of the few perks of this car is that is a 3 cylinder like the mt-09

This has been a fun series, excited to see where it goes. My 3 cyl love started with my 1999 speed triple. Have since owned a 1999 Daytona, '13 speed triple, 16 tiger 800. Also a couple singles, parallel twin, V twin, I4, crossplane I4. On motorcycles, I find 3 cyl as the right balance of rawness/power delivery/refinement. Singles and twins weren't as smooth, 4 cyls a bit sterile and sometimes even buzzier. At one point, I was very close to nitrous on the speed triple but never did it. Now I can live that dream vicariously. I've been quite tempted to get a cappucino though....
Triples and crossplane twins are the goat. I'd love to see and hear an even-firing 5-cyl, though.
I had that same nitrous kit on my 2001 civic back in the day. Had a ton of fun with it but it blew the head gasket.
Nitrous is Fun!! It may be easier to use with the button on the shifter. Although, my kit had a micro- switch setup for full throttle on the TB. Shifting, steering, throttle and a button will keep you busy. IMO, micro-switch.
Genuinely dont know why this channel doesn't do better, the quality, consistency and content is all there, keep up the amazing work gingium. Genuinely in the top 3 car channels for me next to Puddins fab shop and Toms Refurb. Promise me you'll bara swap a sn95 mustang (not new edge those are gross, melted cheese looks better) or make a mid engine 1st gen prelude, oooor maybe a mid engine ford probe with a Yamaha ford v8 out of the melted cheese SHO Taurus. Just some idears from the thinkin man.

Nitrous purge is so you can set the bottle pressure before using the nitrous. If you have 1200 psi of bottle pressure when you are tuned for 1000 psi you are going to have a bad time.

Hey Gingium, completely off topic from this video but its the most recent so im giving it a shot. Watched your project miata subaru swap episodes, the drift truck, and been watching the first couple episodes of Project Binky from BOM and theres still one thing Im not understanding: How do you determine the height of the subframe jig in the new chassis? I understand how to make the jig, I get the other planes of alignment, I just don't get how you determine the height of it relative to the frame rails. Edit: i'm probably fuggin stupid and missed it but im struggling here.

From 13:07 the nos switch is not connected to the wire. Its unplugged. Only the purge switch is connected
