  • Try to show a little of the evolution of the cabin. Sr. bought the land and had a 20x24 cabin built on about 28 acres, later expanded to about 39 or so. It's located between Wellsboro and Ansonia PA, in the heart of the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon Country.
Found some old footage when I was moving some files, so I thought I would put this together to try to answer some questions about it. Looks a lot different from back in 86, but still a great place to go and make some memories with good friends. There are some great old shots of Sr. and all the work he put in up there. First thing, it’s not mine, the owner of the cabin is the Mike the Chairman.
If you have any additional questions please post them and I will try to answer them.

Tom, I always wonder how big the cabin was, and you had a video of it. As a kid, Dad had a 22x22 garage built, which I inherited, and always thought how it could be a 2 br cabin. This was before tiny homes and such, in fact about 45 years ago, when a peanut farmer was in office. Well the deck Dad and I built 50 years ago or so is starting to rot the 4x4 posts (good treated "green" posts and I've been thinking about what to do with a 1/2 deck and a 12x16 covered sitting area with a fire pit. Chairs, beers, smokes (I don't smoke, but a pipe or cigar doesn't bother me) Maybe a smoker and Webber grill....thanks for all the videos!

As generations and values change, some constants remain. Deer Camp means something different to everyone, but we all agree that the hunts we make there, the friendships, stories, laughs are what keep us coming year after year. For those years that we don't make it up, or after we hang up our guns, we can still look back on some truly cherished moments up on those mountains in those camps.

WR, really great video! Glad you held off on the Deer Camp 2018 video and sliced this into it’s own. Really enjoyed the story and history behind the cabin and the times you had with Senior for so many years. It’s obvious you lost your best friend and each video is a little tribute to him. Thanks for taking the time to put this together. Nice job.

Thanks Tim, glad I did also. Seems like the right video to put together to show the history of the cabin.

Well done! People don't often take the time to capture "today" through photos or video. Before you know it, years and even entire decades have flown past in the blink of an eye before you realize how far you've come. I wish we had more channels out there that capture today's story for tomorrow. Like I tell the guys at our camp, you can never have too much footage. Keep those cameras rolling guys, you'll appreciate it down the road. I know I certainly do!

Great as usual! I love the cabin videos. I also thought Sr. Was your dad. Which explains why I was confused in the last video’s comments when you said the Chairman’s name was because he owned the place.
    Keep them coming!

It’s not mine, the owner of the cabin is the Mike the Chairman. Sr's son, as it should be.
