Bonjour Monsieur L'Estrange 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 I have no idea how I managed to miss this gem 💎. It was an excellent surprise to find a story that I had not heard. You and Mr. Stanhope are ruining television for me. THANK YOU 🕊️🕊️🕊️
I never comment on youtube videos but I have to here because this story knocked me straight on my ass. What an utterly horrifying concept! Thank you so much for introducing me to this author.
What a fantastic story! Super narration as always! I like the common thread of these old stories, in which nefarious and insufferable characters end up paying the piper. The brother-in-law in this story is pretty cool. Thanks again for a fantastic narration. I love the background noise and music of your stories. Such things set a perfect tone for the stories. Thanks!
Remarkable! To think that these fantastic and terrifying tales were created long before the days of CGI and movies special effects. This incredible world came from the mind of an author the better part of century ago. Superbly brought to life through skilled narration. Bravo!
Disturbing, unsettling and beautifully narrated. If Dorian Gray had had a lost keep instead of a picture maybe. I agree with other comments about the story making a great movie. Thanks Jasper.
Wowww, what a story, it would make an amazing movie! I’ve been listening to you for a while, and I love your work. You do a very professional job...and nailed that diabolical chuckle.🤣🤣🤣
Consistently awesome narration and , by extension, naturally conveying the essence or sensibility the story’s author attempted. Thanks. I listen to 6 or so podcasts devoted to horror/supernatural Victorian oriented weirdness and EnCrypted is now numero uno on more than a few levels. Good eye for picking authors/stories.
Well, this was an interesting one... I had hoped Lord Knifton would get a hold of the lens and leave that $@&%#± Peter to rot as he certainly deserved. Thanks for another great one.
I love this story. Reminds me a bit of the Twilight Zone episode- the couple locked in a miniature location, after a late night drinking party, own & PLAYED with by a a “disturbing” GIANT CHILD! Excellent. Did one inspire the other?
How on earth have I missed this great story from 2 years ago? What a great find! Certainly made my work go quicker for those wonderful minutes. Thank you Jasper 😊
Jasper, your narrations are always great - but I am quite certain if your performance of the Sweeney Todd Demon Barber series had not been so masterful I would have listened for five minutes and checked out. That thing is a gem - for some reason I thought it would be average or bad - if the quality of your narrative hadn't kept me engaged I would never know the greatness of that story. Have you completed the entire series? I feel like some parts are missing or I just cannot find them.
Thank you Arwcwb. I've so far recorded five episodes. I think I need two or three more to finish it. Your kind words are much appreciated, but for various reasons these episodes never get a lot of views and it kind of affected my motivation. I'm committed to finishing it (for the people that have followed it, and to rid myself of what feels like a millstone around my neck) but it's been difficult because I have limited time to devote to recording and mixing and I want to do things that perform well. So...more to come. But right now think of it as a mid-season hiatus... All the episodes will be added to this playlist: ua-cam.com/play/PL7JYpOrSDoCdkBGiEJDPiR_8CGglZfzSw.html
I don’t know if I got a notification for this, I have found it so it’s meant to be! I’m sorry and I want to apologise for my messages being too long! This is amazing as is all your stuff, you choose very well! That’s why this is my favourite a horror channel! You take care!
Loved it. A bit reminiscent of the better "pan horror" stuff. Without the unnecessary "how's yer father" stuff. It even had the complete swine of a main character.
Absolutely. I like to keep it an unnecessary-how's-yer-father-free zone here. And, yes, what a git that Peter Hunt was. Even worse than Henry Abbott in the last story.
@Frank McGovern lol 😆 Frank!! Thanks for the comment 👍. It is and old slang term for sex. As the series went on - and there were lots of them 25+ at least! They started to "go down that road". Probably trying to compete with the horror paperback boom in the late 70s early 80s. Thanks again for the comment Frank.
@Frank McGovern Yes, I was going to say that from about volume 10 onwards the series veered towards titillation and shock value. Not that there's never a place for that 😉

I know! The inventiveness of some of these authors is amazing. This one's particularly good.
This one is particularly nice. I like how Peter's corruption grows.
Yes, he's a proper rotter 😄
Very clever story telling that proves less is definitely more. Such an air of menace - and perfectly told. 10/10❤
Disturbing, unsettling and beautifully narrated. If Dorian Gray had had a lost keep instead of a picture maybe.
I agree with other comments about the story making a great movie. Thanks Jasper.
Jasper you are THE man
This is one of my favorite "you get what you give" horror stories.
Great story 🎉❤! I love your voice and the way you tell these tales!!
Excellent story!!!
That was an excellent weird story.
My fave narrator!
Excellent story with (as usual) excellent narration. 👍

I agree it would make a good movie. It's hard to believe some of these stories become so overlooked.
Two years late to the party, but agree 💯 with everything you said
Simply brilliant.

What an imaginative tale! Most entertaining. Thank you.
Intriguing tale!
It was, wasn't it? Thanks for listening, Ady! 👍
Love your work Jasper! 🤩You've become one of my favourite readers, both for your skill and story selection.
Really starting to look forward to Wednesdays 🙃
Great reading! 👍🏻🥃
Thank you!
Creepy and sad. Good story and narration.
"Creepy and sad" - that's what they used to write on my school reports 😉 Glad you enjoyed it, Cindy!
Very good indeed.
Thanks Marty! 👍
Will listen to this later Jasper.
What a cool story!
Good one, isn't it?
What a good story and - as ever - first class narration. Thank you very much.

@@EnCryptedHorrorWhen I followed the link, it said that there were 5 videos that were hidden. Are they for patrons?
I unlisted them so that people don't listen and wonder why the story isn't finished. I stopped doing them because they got very low views.
Liked that one ! What a cool concept ! Another great job by this channel !
💀🎱💀
Hi Jeff, yes, a neat little story. Hope you're well!

Twilight Zone inspiration? (Possibly.)

I truly regret that the narrator’s gravelly voice is for me too distracting; I cannot focus on the story content
Off you pop then, Arce. "Truly regret..."
Oooh that was a really good one. Made all my baby hairs stand on end :) Jasper, you find the best stuff!
