Great video, really enjoy watching your stuff, you've helped me out on more than one occasion when working on my own Z. Keep up the good work mate. 👍
Thanks man! Really glad I could help you out! Thanks for the support!
Nice vid bro, really informing ! Appreciate you and the detail of explanation. Love working on my G, and have love for all the Z’s
So those rear calipers just bolt to the factory bracket location, those those calipers don't require any brackets right
The rear calipers do not require any additional brackets, they're direct fit.
From what I remember they do require different banjo bolts. But I could be remembering the front
Good stuff Charlie, thanks for taking the time to make these instructional videos. It really helps us novice mechanics.
I'm super glad the videos are helpful:)
Thanks for all the support Steven!
I just ordered some akebono and if thats the whole process I am going to go nuts lol
did you have to bleed all four sides even though you only replaced the rear?
Have a question...you may have a answer to...can i run brembo calipers in front and akebono calipers in the rear on a 350Z nissan? Its about a 1" difference rotor size if i put akebono rotor in the rear
Yes, I'm currently running Brembo fronts, and Akebono rear. Can't fit Akebono fronts with my setup
You're the Z guru for a lot of us with all these helpful videos man. Thanks for the quality stuff, hope to see more videos.
Got a part number for the rear rotors??
What we need to install this kit,any brackets, and the brake master cylinder also need to be replaced?Thanks...
For the front all you need is the adapter bracket, the rears are straight swap over, only need to trim the dust shield.
Just wondering: do your stock 350Z wheel fit over the Akebono calipers in the front? I have an 04 G35 coupe and I have been looking for 19" Rays but they're hard to come by. I saw that possibly the stock 350Z 18" can fit it but some say yes and some say no in the forums. Thanks for the help!
Anniversary rims fit/ rays 19" wheels fit
@@fullthrottleperformance thank you so much for the helpful information. Truly appreciated! Also, in the video you mention that these are the Enkei non-sport variety. Are those 18”? Was the spacer needed for clearance? I came across a set nearby I’m looking to buy but just wanted a bit more clarity. Thank you again!
@@TGEEZYWUN it's been some time since I had those rims but I think they actually slightly touched, and left a tiny ring on the barrel of the wheel. But I could be mistaking that with other wheels. But I did have to run a 25mm spacer with those wheels
Being watching your vids man.....very good stuff,I wish you were my neighbor!
Hahaha, thanks man! I appreciate the support!
4:33 got em
how many brackets do I need nobody has gave me a legit answer lol
You only need brackets for the front, one on each front side. The rear calipers do not require a bracket
Open the vice all the way out.. slip the knuckle in and slow press the bearing in.. pretty much a low tech press
Thats a good idea, I might try that soon lol. Thanks for the tip bro
@@fullthrottleperformance btw this is shaun from last night lol
Hey I wanted to know what paint color is this. Looks pretty much the same as the original brembo gold
Great video, Charlie! Can't wait for the next videos!
Thanks for all the support man!
Hey man do you do frame work by any chance? I have an 03 350z that needs the rear cradle replaced. And desperately need someone who’s experienced in the Z chassis in California.
Dude, I hella wish I had a frame machine, If I did, and I had space I'd be practicing on crashed z's all the time lol. What do you mean by rear cradle replaced? The rear sub-frame, like the diff cradle? I can replace that, as long as the chassis itself isn't bent.
Full Throttle yes the subframe that holds differential. I went in for an alignment after buying my z and the guy there recommended I get that replaced because the car was involved in a wreck that bent the cradle. I’d been trying to have someone take a look at it before buying the parts.
I have the parts, and I can replace the sub frame lol. Hit me up on IG, @justdriftcharlie, same pic as here on YT. I'm moving into a bigger shop at the moment, should be available after the 10th-12th
Full Throttle got it I will be hitting you up thanks!
Are the stainless steel rear lines the same as the 2 piston stainless steel just wondering if I’m gonna need to buy another set of stainless lines to be able to do the rear akebono upgrade on my 07 coupe
They should be the same, as far as I know the only difference has been the banjo bolts
@@fullthrottleperformance z1 said I would maybe there just trying to sell me another set of lines if anything I’ll just buy then after if I do need them to save money if your right appreciate it
@@E_ina_G I'm pretty sure they're the same
@@fullthrottleperformance When I find out I’ll comment it appreciate your response and keep up the good work w the vids I’ve never done anything but 2 piston brakes and this seems in my realm of capability I appreciate how to video makers who make my life easier
Can I use same rotors??
And just install these calipers???
No, your existing rotors are too small
Bro I have Brembos in the rear
I am doing the same job now and you are my reference, thank you.
do I need to replace my rotors or can i keep my OEM ones?
You will need to replace your rotors, the akebono, and brembo rotors are larger
Are brembo rear rotors the same as akebono? Can i reuse my current brembo rotors with akebono calipers?
Also what size are the rotors?
bro! What car rotors did u use on the rear? I wanna keep the e-brake but the drums on the rotors I have are too big or did u use bigger brake shoes? Thanks in advance!
The shoes on the G37 and the Z / G are the same, rotor size is bigger, but the hat inner diameter is the same. I just bought new shoes, and had to adjust them a little to have a good bite when pulling the ebrake. Hope that helps
@@fullthrottleperformance I bought these calipers with rotors off some guy but the hat on the rear rotors is too big it won't adjust. I guess I'm gonna have to buy G37 rotors. thank u brotha, I really appreciate it
Solid vid!!!
Thanks bro!
