Hello Stefen. Thanks for this video and for the kind words for our plug-in. Our plug-in is not available for Mac, simply because we haven't found anyone who has tried (and knows how) to compile it for Mac. The sources are open, so this is theoretically possible. It's important to understand that our project is free and open-source, and that we have very few contributors. We're trying to do our best, but it's still a small project with very few resources for development. We are of course open to all kinds of good will (for example, if people who know how to compile programs in C++ on a Mac can hear us, they are most welcome :) ). Cheers. David.

The plug-in work nice in Krita, so on Mac use krita.

Stephen. Glad you made this video. I have been using G'MIC for years, at least 10. I used it first with GIMP. Someone wrote a script to export the loaded image (layer) as a tiff and opened the application. I have been letting others within the AP users group and others in PS world, before I left the Adobe Cloud.

This reminds me of the "Filter Factory" filters of yore. Unfortunately, those were 32-bit only, but there is one specific filter that I find appealing. It is called "Mapped Checkers". It creates a distorted checkerboard effect in place of the image - adds extra interest to an otherwise "flat" surface or gradient. (I would install pre-CS PS v7 in 32 bit - just to be able to run that filter).

Hi Stephen, thanks a zillion for this video. I am crazy mad about G'Mic and use it all the time however the latest version of GIMP is not supporting it. I followed your instructions to get it as a filter in Photoshop but it is not in filters. I am obviously doing something wrong but do not know what. Can you help with this please?

You should be able to get it from the Creative Cloud Desktop & select the app category - then search for GMIC. Select it and it should install in photoshop.

@@stephen-photoartist7288 I have it in the Cloud app but there is no way to install it to Photoshop. It just shows the Icon for G'Mic

I'm not impressed. Sometimes it works, some other times it doesn't. Yes, it's free, but a waste of time imho.
