As long as they stick to making amazing single-player games, I'll reluctantly put up with the shitty online mode. I'll be honest, I have sunk around 70 hours into the online mode. It does have potential. Meeting the characters prior to the story is a nice touch. Was cool meeting Jakey, and Micah's friend Joe. I like that idea. Once we've all made the switch to current-gen then hopefully the online experience will improve leaps and bounds.

Even similar red dead 1 weapon wheel? Dude the people who have made this really outdid themselves. It truly does suck that these mods are out of reach for the people like me on console. But I'm still glad to see John getting treated right regardless of what platform it is limited to. Hell if you wanted you could add in the appropriate Red Dead 1 soundtrack for this mission but nonetheless, great job on this video! I'll be sure to subscribe you deserve it.

imagine if rdr3 has you playing as someone from the gang before the events of rdr2 and when you die as that guy you play as arthur and hes unacurate so they make an arthur morgan restoration project. And the cycle keeps going and going and going
That's what everyone with the "who cares if they changed John, it's not noticeable" attitude should consider before saying so imagine if their Arthur got his character model massacred to resemble the protagonist of the next game. Details matter as I'm sure Rockstar understands already...

There are plenty of games that set you back before an end event cutscene happens and what would be the difference over having to start a new playthrough because the new protag sucks?
Mostly true he just used the body of John in the epilogue (which is skinner than Arthur’s body in chapter 2) and pasted John’s head on top, you can see there’s a line between his neck and chest that signifies this.
I don’t think Johns face in the epilogue would be as bad for me if he didn’t have Arthur’s hair. It’s super distracting for me, other than that his face is fine imo

The ammunition belt was added in bc I had to restart the checkpoint in the main gunfight so that John would automatically have his hat on so yeah that kinda sucks
I wish John’s Winter Cowboy outfit looked just like this in vanilla game. Also people always say they like Arthur’s Hat the best, but I get this feeling they only say that cause it’s Arthur. I like his hat, but John’s just seems more realistic, it’s brim is wider giving him more shade, it’s not too tall, and it’s made with lighter material unliked Arthur’s hat which is leather, I don’t normally hear of a whole lot of cowboy hats made from leather. Which i’m sure there were lots definitely, but not exactly the most common. Plus I like the feather and the worn look on it.

I still don’t get why the developers didn’t just use John’s npc model instead of reusing Arthur’s. I mean, it’s literally Arthur’s body with John’s skin texture plastered over it, and that’s not an exaggeration or analogy, that’s literally what it is.
I'm no game developer but I would imagine it's pretty hard to make an npc a playable character model but I get what your saying. Someone in this comment section said epilogue John is built like Crash Bandicoot and it made me laugh so much cuz it's completely true😂 There's also something about his face that feels wrong, the eyes just don't feel like John.

Red dead came out when I was like 5. So I never really understood the game. But now in my 20s replaying it, it’s so sad. Gives me a new appreciation for John. And kinda shows how underrated he is when people compare him to Arthur. Idk. As a whole, red dead is johns story.

He came there to figure things out and John managed show him what’s the right thing to do. That and the regret for having hand in Arthur’s death should be enough.
I like how his body and face isn’t Arthur marston, but it’s so under appreciated how great the details are. The walk is more like John and the way John holds the gun is accurate to rdr1 where he’s kind of hunched when he aims with a revolver or pistol. It’s perfect.

Abigail annoyed tf out of me up until this point. From defending Proghorn, to having to fend off attackers coming at him while he was with Jack. John literally had no choice in those situations. Someone attacked where they were living, so was he supposed to just lie back down and let the ranch be burned and invaded? Same with attackers with Jack, they literally would’ve gunned him down there in front of Jack because she got him a gift under their actual names. He doesn’t do anything then him and maybe Jack are dead in that situation. This is the first time in the epilogue where I agreed with Abigail even before it was discovered that going for Micah is what led to the events of Rdr. Arthur wanted John to not look back at that life. John felt he owed it to his brother to avenge his death and ultimately avenge the Van Der Linde gang, as it can be argued Micah’s influence on Dutch is what crumbled the gang. Abigail was right where in this sense, John actually had a choice. He chose what he thought was right and it ultimately cost them everything in the end and sent Jack on presumably the same cycle as his father, and his late “Uncle” Arthur. Lots of folk feel Jack may have a future in joining the Army since at the end of RDR while playing as Jack you’re given the US Army costume. I don’t think that’s the case though. Jack watched the Government use his father then throw him away like trash when he was done. I don’t think he’d get in bed with the same government that’s responsible for the demise of literally every family member he’s ever known. Redemption is the only thing on Jack’s mind, and the cycle continues.

He didn't feel he measured up to arthurs expectation of being a goddamn man by actively pursuing revenge so he uses his own hat until he finishes things. From that perspective it cements John as the new protagonist with an iconic design of his own and allows fans of the original to enjoy their favorite gunslinger to some level

Why couldn't they just leave John alone? If you squint your eyes when looking at Epilogue John, he really doesn't look all that much different from Arthur.

@@subpain4257 I played rdr2 first, in order of story, but when I saw John in the epilogue, I got pissed and said "that is not the same John I robbed a train with"
Red dead came out when I was like 5. So I never really understood the game. But now in my 20s replaying it, it’s so sad. Gives me a new appreciation for John. And kinda shows how underrated he is when people compare him to Arthur. Idk. As a whole, red dead is johns story.

@@yessir6427 last second? For the past 8 years he has been doubting himself while sinking further to the insanity. Dutch was always unstable and heavily influenced by other’s words. He came there to figure things out and John managed show him what’s the right thing to do.
That and the regret for having hand in Arthur’s death should be enough.
I like how his body and face isn’t Arthur marston, but it’s so under appreciated how great the details are. The walk is more like John and the way John holds the gun is accurate to rdr1 where he’s kind of hunched when he aims with a revolver or pistol. It’s perfect.

Abigail annoyed tf out of me up until this point. From defending Proghorn, to having to fend off attackers coming at him while he was with Jack. John literally had no choice in those situations. Someone attacked where they were living, so was he supposed to just lie back down and let the ranch be burned and invaded? Same with attackers with Jack, they literally would’ve gunned him down there in front of Jack because she got him a gift under their actual names. He doesn’t do anything then him and maybe Jack are dead in that situation.
This is the first time in the epilogue where I agreed with Abigail even before it was discovered that going for Micah is what led to the events of Rdr. Arthur wanted John to not look back at that life. John felt he owed it to his brother to avenge his death and ultimately avenge the Van Der Linde gang, as it can be argued Micah’s influence on Dutch is what crumbled the gang. Abigail was right where in this sense, John actually had a choice. He chose what he thought was right and it ultimately cost them everything in the end and sent Jack on presumably the same cycle as his father, and his late “Uncle” Arthur.
Lots of folk feel Jack may have a future in joining the Army since at the end of RDR while playing as Jack you’re given the US Army costume. I don’t think that’s the case though. Jack watched the Government use his father then throw him away like trash when he was done. I don’t think he’d get in bed with the same government that’s responsible for the demise of literally every family member he’s ever known. Redemption is the only thing on Jack’s mind, and the cycle continues.

I hate that some people are defending a mess called Vanilla epilogue John, They have no reason to defend Vanilla epilogue John when modded John is better and looks like John while vanilla epilogue John is just goofy.

@@diegopenalver3392 In the Epilogue, John's face is essentially pasted onto Arthur's body. While John in the main game and in RDR1 has a much leaner body type than Arthur.

He didn't feel he measured up to arthurs expectation of being a goddamn man by actively pursuing revenge so he uses his own hat until he finishes things. From that perspective it cements John as the new protagonist with an iconic design of his own and allows fans of the original to enjoy their favorite gunslinger to some level
