    I absolutely love those Haitian onions! Here’s a big virtual hug 🤗! I appreciate this so much. Annette do you store the leftovers in a regular jar so they won’t turn colors? Also where did you purchase that onion grater? Thanks in advance!

    • @dorannette26
      @dorannette26  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks for the hug! Yes I put the leftover in a glass jar and store it in the refrigerator. No it doesn’t change color. I purchased the Mandolin from Walmart years ago.

    Does your mandalin have an insert for cutting potatoes for fries or chips? If so, where did you get it from?

      Yes, I purchase it five years ago for $2.00 at Walmart. They had a promotion going on.

    I would love to add this style of pikliz on my menu. Can you please tell me for this video, how many onions, how many peppers, how much water, how much salt, how much lime juice you used? Thank you.

      @dorannette26  Рік тому

      I didn’t measure it, also I didn’t add water, it was vinegar.

      @@dorannette26 how much lime to put in it? How many onions to cut?

    • @dorannette26
      @dorannette26  Рік тому +1

      @@alinagillyard1583 … I did not use measurements! You can use as much onion as you would like. When adding the lime mixture, pour a little at a time over onions and taste it. Stop when you’re satisfied with taste.

    My wife makes this too and has some in the fridge... too hot for me! My face was sweating & turned pink. Everyone was afraid I was having a heart attack. (Still really good.)

      I brought my mandolin from Walmart years ago but you can find it on Amazon , bed bath & beyond, I’ve also seen them in Publix supermarket.

    Use a fork when slicing using the mandolin. If you get too close it won't be your fingers. Stab the onions with the fork and slice away. 😁 my clueless self way of doing it.

    • @dorannette26
      @dorannette26  3 роки тому +1

      I have a safety guard that came with my mandolin.I prefer not using it but I will definitely try the fork.
