Meaning if it touches the dye or any of the fixatives you can't use it to make food again. The dye stuff will leach out into your food and is toxic and carcinogenic. Hi Bella, so happy to have the sewing videos back and may I say, you hit a home run! These back out beautiful, they are both very romantic and agree that they do look very Cinderella. The chamise is probably my favorite of the two projects because of how modern it is in appearance, it could even be worn as an outer piece for a night out and no one would think it's part of a costume. This is the reason I missed your sewing videos because you make some truly beautiful, elegant and timeless garments. Great job Bella, great job.
I know you make amazing dresses for a living but I can’t believe how beautiful that chemise is, and I want one of the same color and cut. 😍 Plus, make the chemise and bloomers out of an opaque fabric and I’ll wear it all summer long.
Great job. I'm following your progress on this project, and I can't wait for the end result. You are so talented, and I wish you all the luck in the world.
These are so pretty and delicate, reminds me of when I used to wear petticoats under dresses and skirts !always made clothes sit much nicer!and I think made getting dressed a bit more special too..You did a beautiful job of these was nice to watch you ..Thank you 😀

They're very pretty and perfect for a 1920s Flapper Dress. Great colors, too. Undergarments serve a purpose. The chemise keeps the corset and dress clean of sweat. It's also easier to go to the bathroom in split drawers. When first making dresses, I made the mistake of mixing eras. It doesn't work, because each era's undergarments serve for that specific era. **With a corset, you need split drawers. The 1920s didn't have a corset, hence the closed leg drawers. You'll also see the difference in chemises for ballgowns. Anywhere the dress may touch the skin is covered by the chemise. They're not plain either. They have pretty embroidery, tucks, ribbons, and lace. Split drawers are decorated in the same way. I've used the embroidered cotton fabric with scalloped edge as my drawers. It comes in different colors, and is very pretty.
you imagined and designed these items sooooo well! they are truly beautiful. i also really like the blouse you are wearing in the speaking portions of the video. i could really see the pain in your eyes over the camera.
I've been advised not to do that because the rice dust can cause problems so got it taken apart and dried it out that way and it worked for awhile! But then it had some issues so I'm getting it repaired.

The colour looks so good on this fabric. Great work as always, pattern is interesting, too. I just wanted to ask something: I thought chemise should be seamless or as seamless as possible in order to be comfortable under the corset. Is it like that? On the other hand, I was thinking about it and I guess that a seamless chemise is usually looser which means it makes wrinkles when worn under the corset. I would love to know opinion from someone working with costumes. Also RIP your camera

You can see it in the film as she's dancing and in one other photo behind the scenes. What is that? It's clearly underneath the crinoline and not attached to the skirt/petticoat.
