Overall the setup is very easy and product feels sturdy and well made. Only issue was with the one crash bar bolt but after making the video Outback Motortek stated to me that some packages left their facility with the wrong bolt size and the issue is fixed now and you will get the right set when you order yours.

"Regarding the bolt size you mention on the right side, that’s some feedback we’ve already received and fixed it with the current hardware kit being shipped with the crash bars. 👍"
So you should get yours with the correct sizes! 🙂

@@PatchedBandit I tried to ride on sand near Berlin (we have mostly gravel or mud). Expected a lot of tipovers, but escaped a lot of times. Sheer luck, thanks to my light CRF 300 L (your recommendation, very good). One hour on a R 1200 GS reminded me why I definitely wanted a light bike, it was hard work on sand. But I don't gel with the telelever, anyway ;-) Cheers, Günter
They look great no doubt. Good video no doubt about that, too. Mounting crash bars directly to the engine - I have some doubts about that one...
The engine mounts are between the engine and the crashbars on both mounting points. So the frame is the one taking most of the impact like most crash bars.
I have seen some crash bars mounting directly to the engine block but this is a bit different in that there is that solid frame mount before the actual engine block.

Due to skid plate being below the center of gravity, that extra weight should not impact negatively on handling. Crash bars are higher and those might have some impact. How did you find the feeling?
