She skated "as solid as a rock" at these championships as Peggy Flemming commentated on her program during the 1988 Olympics. I wish she would have worn her amazing Olympics costume already here. It would have made her performance perfect. But even with this rather sportive costume, she was absolutely stunning!
I agree that this performance would have absolutely SHINED even more, had it not been for this costume. Unfortunately, things didn’t go well for her in Calgary in 88…from Day 1. She had been in the 4th~5th place range in CF for several seasons post Sarajevo, yet she placed 9th in CF in Calgary, which left her with little hope to move up to the medal range.
