Fisher had a "thing" for her before Mike Todd died, but she had been truly happy w/Todd. Being with Fisher was a way to keep Todd with her, but only until she "woke up". The worst thing that u could do to ur best friend- is to steal her husband. Elizabeth Taylor was a selfish women, without scruples & feelings for Debbie & her 2 small children. While she toyed with Eddie ,Debbie lost her husband & a father to her to young kids.

Debbie Reynolds, I hope you know that you have helped million of women. You are so strong, I so admire you. You are a lady of high class worthy to be notice.
I definately feel for Debbie always being asked about this, then again, it is definately juicy. She is incredible and an amazing talent. 'Singing in the Rain' was one of my favorite movies when I was younger and I can't believe she was only around 18 and singing, dancing and acting at that level in the film, plus she was so pretty and aged so gracefully. I've really grown to love and appreciate Elizabeth Taylor as well though. So beautiful, so brave, loyal, fiery and compassionate, with such a film presence. Am I the only one that feels a bit for Eddie Fisher though? I get he made a mistake and caused a lot of pain but he wasn't the only one and he was really disrespected in the end, and his career took a nose dive. Hope they're all happy and at peace in heaven ♡
Whenever someone’s heart has been broken, it’s hard enough. Having the world watch you go through it, I can’t even imagine how awful that has to be. I give so much credit to Miss Reynolds. I’ve always been a fan. She had so much class. Her talent is missed. I’m glad that she was able to forgive Elizabeth Taylor. Holding on to anger never does anyone any good. Again, one very classy lady.
MissLizaMay you know Elizabeth Taylor financially always supported and helped Debbi Reynolds she also donated many expansive head piece and costumes to Debbie Reynolds she made a fortune actioning them.
I've always felt that Eddie took advantage of Elizabeth's grief to get in with her. There was always a vulnerability to Liz that got easily exploited. I'm not saying that she's blameless, but to make moves on the recently widowed wife of your best friend is so tacky. Even if Liz had made a move, it was also up to Eddie to say no and he didn't either.
Surely Taylor had family and other close friends to support and comfort her in her grief. She and Fisher must have had feelings (even if lustful ones) before her bereavement. Perhaps it was the perfect storm that ignited their mutual passion for each other?
poor debbie she went through the humiliation of the break up years ago. then every time people interview her it comes up. Debbie is an amazing woman in her own right
Wow, Debbie‘s got a wicked, edgy, sharp tongue on her ! You can tell she's just holding back from throwing in another zinger about Liz Taylor. After what Liz did to her, Debbie could‘ve been bitter and angry, but bless her soul, she chose to forgive.
This lady is such a great talent! So hard to think she's gone! Sad everything has to be drudged up! Have to drag the BS back through the mud over and over! Talk to her about what she is doing Now!
These ladies *live for gossip* and you can tell Debbie _hated_ having to repeat decades old painful news of her being betrayed by husband and best girlfriend.
Laura Carson There is an old saying; ‘success is the best revenge’ and I think Debbie proved that. Not only did she outlive both Elizabeth AND Eddie, but she also had a longer career than either of them.
Miss Reynolds had a light that still shines. The epitome of a classy lady. Spicy, feisty, huge talent and a Christian. God Bless her granddaughter Billie.
My husband left me for another woman, when my children were babies. There comes a point when you draw the line and move on. I'd hate to keep talking about it over and over!! I wish my ex the best of luck, he left over a decade ago.
I am sure Debbie Reynolds had moved on a looooong time ago but since she was a celeb and Fisher leaving her for Liz made big news, she's going to be asked about it whether she liked it or not. and she was too polite to tell people to shut the fuck up about it.
Exactly what I was thinking, I think I'd try to find a good story to tell on myself . But I think she wanted to keep up with Liz and it backfired on her .
This is what classy is and to talk openly about Elizabeth. I recall Liz saying she didn't know why she did it (take someone else's husband), but I believe she did. She knew Debbie and recalled what a friend she was and how wholesome she seemed and how easy it would be. Liz never wanted to be alone but she didn't think twice of getting rid of Eddie since he was such a mouse compared to Richard. Eddie cheated, he took vows with Debbie, not Elizabeth.
Count on Debbie Reynolds to be a classy lady...and Letterman to be anything but a kindhearted gentleman. Cher was so right when she stated the reason why she had never appeared on his show, after finally agreed to do it. "You're an a**hole." I respected Cher already, that comment just made me like her even more.
The way the press asked Debbie Reynolds such intrusive, insensitive questions was shocking and repulsive. She said in one of these interviews that people more or less hounded her on the subject of how it felt to be betrayed by two people she loved and trusted, and that was actually putting it mildly. But I think she was a champion to be able to refrain from telling the rude jerks off outright, or even knocking some of them down ...in the same way she described Mike Todd and Elizabeth Taylor slugging one another. Wow. What a series of kerfuffles her friendships and marriages were.
Debbie was twice the woman Liz Taylor ever was....Classy, she never spoke a bad word about Liz even though she took her husband leaving her with a baby to bring up on her own, whilst Liz made out she was her best friend at the time...Debbie also kept all the memorabilia from the Golden Age of Movies and was not only intelligent, talented, an interesting and engaging public speaker, good actress and singer, but a real trooper...RIP Debbie...I thought you were pretty, wonderful and a great STAR xxx
Debbie Reynolds had to be asked about Elizabeth Taylor for the REST OF HER LIFE. She handled it with grace & humor. There was no social media to bash & cancel someone back then. RIP Debbie, Carrie & Elizabeth.
I take my hat off to Debbie Reynolds. I don't think I would have handled this situation the way she did - she really rose above it with utter class. Between Liz and Debbie, Debbie was the class act 1000%. My absolute respect for Debbie Reynolds.
Debbie should have told Joy Behar, Look Bitch, I went through this once and that was enough...get your story straight,,,and walked off the set. Debbie always had class, something that Joy will never have.
The way she says "you're really tacky, right?" Without missing a beat and with a sweet smile on her face. Whiplash!

If anything, she did Debbie Reynolds a favor which I believe Reynolds realized, which then helped them mend their friendship. They were both very special women.
agree, I would NEVER do that to another female. Especially a friend.
The worst thing that u could do to ur best friend- is to steal her husband. Elizabeth Taylor was a selfish women, without scruples & feelings for Debbie & her 2 small children. While she toyed with Eddie ,Debbie lost her husband & a father to her to young kids.
I always had more respect for Debbie Reynolds then I did for Elizabeth Taylor.
Well, Elizabeth Taylor did a lot of work for AIDS charities, so I have a lot of respect for her because of that...
110%
Me, too! It was wrong, for her to take Debbie's, husband.
@@reginabarron4073 yh but it was his fault plus he got the worst out of it, his career declined, whereas liz became the most famous and highest paid actress in the world, Debbie saw a box office increase
Elizabeth Taylor had MANY narcissistic qualities - it was all about HER! She was quite selfish!
Debbie was one of a kind - humour, talent and kindness - loved her!
Lisa Akinlabi she was my heartthrob when I was a teen .
Fell in love with Debbie singing Tammy in the fifties when I was a kid and will always love her. Such a lovely gracious woman. R I P.
@Jeff Campbell Absolutely Jeff. Mind you it was Liz Taylor.
I liked Liz Taylor but I didn't love her, it had to be Debbie.
@Jeff Campbell I think Richard Burton had a damn good go. 😀
@Jeff Campbell Probably his rich deep Welsh voice but he was good looking and liked a drink or three. Pick any of those or the lot.😀
@Jeff Campbell Oh yes. 😀
Beautifully said.

Elizabeth didn't do anything to reynolds. Fisher broke the wedding vows. Taylor had no alliance to reynolds. Fisher did.
Oh, I always loved Debbie Reynolds. What a great sense of humor...especially when talking about Elizabeth and her ex. She was a true class act!
“You can’t make a man leave a woman unless he wants to go.” Wise, wise words.
So classy to forgive, AND do so publically.
MissLizaMay you know Elizabeth Taylor financially always supported and helped Debbi Reynolds she also donated many expansive head piece and costumes to Debbie Reynolds she made a fortune actioning them.
you have no choice, I think; and the press doesn't exactly help getting over it; I guess she had to learn to fight that.
MissLizaMay l
What choice did she have be bitter like her psycho daughter Carry
They get into tweet wars now!
Liz was a homewrecker .
Surely Taylor had family and other close friends to support and comfort her in her grief. She and Fisher must have had feelings (even if lustful ones) before her bereavement. Perhaps it was the perfect storm that ignited their mutual passion for each other?
@@susandscraper4770 she was desirable and knew it ,obviosely
@@elspethcoogan1499 your probably right
@@michelleregis6181 well it's old news now
Thanks for sharing these clips. Debbie Reynolds was first class.
Debbie is such a gracious, elegant lady - and love her sense of humor! Elizabeth Taylor also went on to do great things - God Bless them both!!!
One can really see from whence Carrie Fisher inherited her great wit.
Too bad good women like Debbie Reynolds and Doris Day and up with total jerks for husbands.
their husbands were well endowed. get over it hun
Poor decisions. People see the red flags but stay with people anyway. They don't listen to their intuition. Consequences!
you said it.....
@@dannyrieichell780 i think that played a big part.
@@carlrest6553 oh yes!
What a great classy lady..RIP Debbie you sure have a place in Heaven.
The picture of grace and class. True wit and humor 😉❤️
It's great to see how much grace and poise old hollywood stars have compared to today.
poor debbie she went through the humiliation of the break up years ago. then every time people interview her it comes up. Debbie is an amazing woman in her own right
Debbie was truly phenomenal. She & Carrie are so missed.
I love Debbie's sense of humor
They used to say that Eddie Fisher wasn't 'man enough' for Elizabeth Taylor. Hell, I never thought he was man enough for Debbie Reynolds!
Eddie Fisher isn't even Man enough for a Female Dog.
She was an incredibly strong and classy woman. She went through so much, and kept going on. It took the death of her Carrie to finally carry her away.
Miss Reynolds had a light that still shines. The epitome of a classy lady. Spicy, feisty, huge talent and a Christian. God Bless her granddaughter Billie.
What Debbie and Elizabeth saw in Eddie Fisher is beyond me. Now I can totally see why Liz fell for Richard Burton.
Wow, I was Nazarene, too. Debbie is so classy and so funny and so very, very adorable. She is one of the greatest ladies of Hollywood.
Debbie was hilariously truthful!! God bless her! ❤️
I hate what Eddie did to Debbie.
Thank you for blaming Eddie and not liz yes it was also her fault but nobody blames the men
What did he do to Debbie? Nothing. Except expose her and Elizabeth Taylor for what they were.
He suffered the same faith. Getting cheated on and dumped
Very wise woman you are
Charlotte Bruce Smart woman! You took the high road & I'm sure
it helped your children. Blessings!
Exactly what I was thinking, I think I'd try to find a good story to tell on myself . But I think she wanted to keep up with Liz and it backfired on her .
@@PungiFungi I think it might have been easier for her to come to terms with when his career disappeared overnight. :)
How hurtful it must have been for Debbie Reynolds. And to be asked the same questions over and over?
Elly Deane maybe it wasn’t that hurtful to her...she’s good at empathizing 😉😉 what a woman
I think she realised Liz did her a favour. And she knew gossip is what chat shows want.
She said it's redundant to talk about this in 1988, and ended up having to answer questions about it for the next 25 years.
Eddie cheated, he took vows with Debbie, not Elizabeth.
you have admit elizabeth got any man chewed him up and spat him out.

What a lovely person Debbie Reynolds was!
I worked with Debbie Reynolds several times. Class act.
This is the way we as women should conduct ourselves when something like this happens. She’s so classy and refine, I highly respect her
DEBBIE Reynolds what a lady !! Admire her great actress!!
She is
Debbie was twice the woman Liz Taylor ever was....Classy, she never spoke a bad word about Liz even though she took her husband leaving her with a baby to bring up on her own, whilst Liz made out she was her best friend at the time...Debbie also kept all the memorabilia from the Golden Age of Movies and was not only intelligent, talented, an interesting and engaging public speaker, good actress and singer, but a real trooper...RIP Debbie...I thought you were pretty, wonderful and a great STAR xxx
I so agree
They were both great women, someting you don't know what it is.
What a sophisticated lady!! She inspires me.
The biggest tragedy is losing Carrie. She was always such a devoted mother. Love you Debbie ❤️
She ended dying 1 day after her daughter.
I get it that she was 84, but folks under 70 can still died from broken heart.
In the old days: "He went with her". In 2013: "He was f*c*ing Elizabeth!" LOL!
She developed a great sense of humor over the situation and that is commendable
Debbie Reynolds really seems like a beautiful person. Very caring😍
Debbie Reynolds had to be asked about Elizabeth Taylor for the REST OF HER LIFE. She handled it with grace & humor. There was no social media to bash & cancel someone back then. RIP Debbie, Carrie & Elizabeth.
Class act! All the way.
Anyone who have a chance to be friend with this lady was so lucky . She is a gem
How heart breaking. Yet she overcame, Debbie shows enormous strength.
I love Debbie Reynolds! She was a classy lady always!!
Debbie Reynolds is so cute 🤗Rest in Paradise Pretty Lady ♥️
Debbie: No, he wasn't playing cards. He was f***ing Elizabeth.
What a way to end this long video. 😂
