14:21 What the hell mate? You got kangaroos lurking around in your backyard? Shit, I'm moving to Australia! Beautifull craftsmanship. Happy holidays and Stay Safe!
Thanks John. Depends where you live, but if you manage to be a little out in the country, they're really common. I hope you enjoy the holidays too mate. Thanks for the comment.
Texture paint would work really well, and be a lot cleaner process. There will be a difference in the final texture obviously, I prefer this as it gives a loose soil look about it, as if the crater is relatively fresh (plus it's from my backyard and just happens to work really well for this application :) ). Thanks for the suggestion mate, I really appreciate it. Take care and all the best.
I was given an incomplete 40K tank from my FLGS last night. I'm going to make some tank wreckage sitting in a molten crater. This video has helped out with how to do it. Thanks!
These look really good and simple to make. thanks for posting the video! One suggestion though is to glue on a few rocks first, then apply the dirt to make them look embedded in the soil. Then also apply a few on top for variety.
Perfect. The paper might actually hold better with the glue than the tinfoil. I was inspired to use the tin foil after following Erics Hobby Workshop tutorials and having way too much extra foil haha. Thanks for the comment, and sorry for the late reply.
Hi, really like the vid! I'm a noob here so is there an approx. ratio for the PVA and water when sealing the dirt in? Just an approx. will do cause I can't tell how thick the mixture was. Thx
Thanks. It's slightly more water than PVA glue, you want it to be fairly diluted so that you can easily drip it over the dirt or groundcover. It should clear up nicely once dry. I hope this helps mate.
Thank you mate. No, the dirt I just grabbed from the backyard, although I'm pretty sure I put this through a strainer to get out some of the larger bits and non-dirt stuff before I used it.
Excellent, exactly the tutorial I was looking for 👌
Great to hear you found something useful mate. Thank you for the comment.
I really like your goop that you used to stick the dirt into the center. Creative solutions.
Thanks mate. Yeah, I'm finding more ways to use that stuff. I'm all about the cheap solutions at the moment haha.
Great look! You have great content. Keep doing your thing.
Thanks so much for the comment. Glad you're enjoying it mate.
I was not expecting how easy these would actually be to build! great video mate.
Thanks Nate. Really easy, I'm definitely making some more

Really nice. Was just thinking. You could probably get away with covering one of these with a texture paint instead of flocking if preferred.

Kangaroo shit

Great idea, wish I'd thought of that. I'm going to make up some more soon and I'll be trying that out for sure. I appreciate the comment mate. Thanks.

Kangaroo Shit. Wow, you really are an Aussie, aren't you.
haha, yes I am.
Can you make a diorama for gundams next? That would be awesome
Oh wow, that's something I've not tried before. I'll have to look into that. Thanks for the comment mate.
This certainly beats spening 80$ on GW craters... Thank you!
You're welcome mate.
I use paper bag instead of tin foil.

The black in the middle is excellent.
Thanks mate. I agree, I think it helped to sell the overall look. Appreciate the comment.
Great vid. Being a resident of the UK, kangaroo shit isn't problem when back yard foraging for mats.
Haha, lucky you. Cheers for the comment mate.
@@RFDHobby Most welcome bud. Thanks for the upload and inspersion. Keep safe.
I'm a little homesick after that kangaroo shit reference. Now that's a feeling I never expected to experience watching a wargaming video.
@@artwork29ish you too mate.

@@RFDHobby okay, thanks
These look incredible
Thanks so much! I appreciate the comment mate.
Should add some mudbrown liquid in some of the craters for that WW1 feel, make it look like they were there for months
Great idea mate! Thanks for the comment.
