Its pretty rare that a single video gets me to sub to a channel, but this did it. Fantastic.
maybe its just me, but i feel like you have been uploading alot of videos lately, AND IM LOVING IT ^^ keep it up!
Looks like a method to try - Always nice to make something once and not have to make it again when it falls apart
Gonna take some effort to make these fall apart!
This video was spectacular! Always wanted some proper trees, but it was always either really expensive, or time consuming or just plain ugly. Sometimes all 3! This gives me a ton of ideas and defenetly goes to the saved video folder. Thanks!
8:30 He's a bushwacker! 8:45 "cat safe" - famous last words... CAT! XD Nice work mate. And don't cry to hard. you've got 20k subs... that something I'd say
The Deadly Premonition music in your videos always puts a smile on my face. It’s especially fitting for the subject matter of this one!
Absolutely! Couldn’t think of anything else to put over them trees haha
Given how difficult and time consuming trees are to make this is a brilliant solution. Probably be a UK shortage on those gutter cleaner things now. For a pre-shaped tree you could just buy a £2 toilet brush. Good side for 28mm/Heroic scale gaming too!
Was waiting for you to slip with the clippers there and then REM's everybody hurts kicks in.
Neato. I was looking for an easy way to make pinetrees, i never imagined to use these brush-thingies. They're actually quite cheap at my local hardware store :D
You and your bloody deadly premonition soundtrack 👌
I can’t help it! It’s too fun to not use!
I feel like I’m walking trough a beautiful forest Staring at your trees. Thank you for the video
Seeing as I’m from Gloucester, “Cheers my love” made me feel so at home haha!
Was looking around for how to easily make Wargaming trees... silly me, I should have come strait here.
Thanks.
Cutting tip: bolt cutters would make short work of that twisted wire in the middle. Cheers!
I am working on building a table of terrain fir age of sigmar and this guide just saved me so much trial and error
You’re welcome! Let me know how it turns out!
These are awesome. They dont look to dark on the screen, I will make a few of these for my Kashyyk table
Great work on the trees Dave.
Gotta get those 5% increases wherever you can. #whereishector #findhector
#IMLOOKING!!
Love the trees!
Don't cry MS I'm a long time subscriber.
Looks great as always, might have to give this a try. Thanks!
Great video.. love the use of the hedgehog gutter brushes.. especially when I can discount on them..
Such a great idea. Well done mate
This is awesome; looks great and seems relatively simple to pull off. Thank you for the great content.
Excellent work mate.
love your stuff man!!! need to get back in to the hobby more. i miss it.
Nice to see a broad mix of video subjects. Keep up the good work!
now i have no excuse anymore to try it, thanks for this tutorial
Looks great
They look pretty good mate. Love the way you made them
I've got some cheap trees that I'm sorting through how to make better - and stronger for the tabletop. This was a helpful vid!
I have been watching you for a few weeks now you have a great personality and fun to watch keep up the good work
I love the background music! But of great detective!! Great looking trees
What a great idea, had used the scenic stuff for trains before, and while sturdy, it did shed leaves at times.
Stellar trees man, definitely going to put some of these together once I find a suitable replacement material in Canada!
i'd love to see a super high detailed tree build :D tree crafting vids are always lovely
Subscribed! Glad I found this.
Sweet treesus! 🌳 I feel you’ve started a treevolution man! 🌲 Keep up the stellar work..! It’s a fantastic feeling watching your videos, sublime as always! 🤩
THANK YOU!
Sublime as always. You provide such a down to earth approach and presentation style, that any project seems very achievable. Which honestly really makes a difference. Keep up the great work!!
GENIUS!
Genius I say sir!
Awesome!
Very effective. Thank you .
Damn. Now I've got a craving for Gregg's sausage rolls.
Another belter Dave
Very Cool....like the way u did I the bases too Great Work✌👍‼
Haha just what I needed!!! Planning on making a WW2 forest for an imp guard "Fury" inspired army. Cant wait to give it a go.
Very well done man. They look great and seem very sturdy. I know you mentioned the ground getting darker after sealing but in the shot they looked good to me.
As always another great video mate 🇦🇺👍🏻
Best i have ever seen made or available for sale
Great stuff! These look ace, real diorama quality imo while still being very much gaming pieces. The perfect combo.
Would love to see some videos on older, well used terrain. Like, how terrain has survived years of gaming, what works and what doesnt, maybe how to rescue and repair older pieces. Might be fun to follow up on some of your older terrain and see how it's survived contact with the battlefields :)
Another slightly above average video, haha. As always full of great info & well presented. I love the vibe of your videos.
I'm sure that I am in a vocal minority because I play lots of legion but after seeing your legion collection in the background you should totally do some terrain content for it.
After much frustration with woodland scenic trees I'm making these today. Thanks for this great idea.
Brilliant! Was just trying to figure this out for myself. Thanks
Kool technique 🤩
Brilliant content
Tip for anyone wanting to try this, if you wanna cut those wire brush hedgehog things, just get a big oomphin' bolt cutter. No sense struggling through that stuff with your tiny hobby snips.
Second.
Bolt cutters all the way. Found it was not only quicker, but I wasn't bending/damaging the brush any more.
I was lazier that the miliput even. I made trunchs out of wooden dowling and texture paint.
Oh and spray adhesive.
This video is making me feel aggressively lazy - so I would like to spin that and claim "efficency"
Awesome video. INDESTRUCTIBLE trees in an hour haha Dave
Congratulations on getting over the 20k subs mark!
Damn! Multiple videos in one week! Chuffed!!!
Great video.love the tree's and side angle lens
Wide
great video, I will say though forest and woods in full foliage is dark and ground level, I would think the dark ground level would look more natural
I Love the Video, saw an Option in Erics Hobby Workshop, but I wanted it quick and dirty.... Great Idea with the "Dachrinnenbürste" :D Had to deepl for the word :D
Brilliant guide, I'll have to give this a go. Cheers Dave😁👍
Thanks Dave! Let me know how they turn out!
“Nature doesn’t give a s#*t - why should you?” That comment right there was worth subscribing - well done!!😂😂
I want to get some of this stuff and experiment with them. I'm wondering if a synthetic dye like Rit. Also for a more naturalistic look, cut the bristles like a barber, with the scissors almost parallel. But these are definitely what my nostalgia memory of wargaming trees are. Chunky and bristly
congrats on the 20.1k subscribers that is a hell of a 20%
If your woods are more area affect terrain. Instead of sticking them all down on one base give them some individual bases, then make a big area base. Make a few if you want for different woods every game.
This allows you to move the trees about while leaving the base in place. So you can march ranked up regiments through, park tanks hull down or even have a giant swirling melee.
Walking that Realism vs durability balancing act perfectly.
Maybe if you want brighten it, you could scrape some pastel chalk into a dust, and then sprinkle it on top. You’d get some brighter greens on top.
Keep it safe with flex seal
Yeah, I found when I used Geek Gaming basing stuff and made the mistake of spray varnishing after it really darkened them and took down the look. Basically it seems all the dust and stuff just soaks up the sealant and stays dark, forever. In that case I just redipped the bases and then shook off the excess. Not really sure how it would work for terrain. Also, now I base my figures after I've varnished them.
Fuckin' Trees mate!
haha, is that Deadly Premonition music i hear? Also great build
There's a new video from dave? Nice! But a video about trees whithout any allusion about happy little trees? Bob ross would be disappointed 🙊
Hi, can you advise what foam board u get and what store its from, I'd like to build a diorama, like in the UK and can't seem to find big sheets of thick foamboard
They look great and its nice none of the shit falls off, mine always leave a little crap on the table :/
No wonder I confused with Geek Gaming Scenics outside Salute, even though I know you are both different people. Of course, you could be pretending to be him, or he is impersonating you, the conspiracy begins. And one of you is a Muppet too! Anyway, enough of the kidding around. Just feel the love of appreciation.
What about just hitting the base with airbrushed colors to bring back up the color after it's sealed and dry?
Wicked
Looks fantastic. Can I ask roughly what height are the finished trees?
The tall one is probably about 25cm!
What did you use to seal it all and make it so rigid?
Isopropyl alcohol to start a capillary action, and then watered down pva. Does the job every time!
Don't cry, you need sleep. It's healthy for you.
New to the channel. Does anyone know the song that starts playing around 4:52?
How do these differ then from diorama trees?
Elden ring, sausage rolls an a cheeky cheers my love in a very Wiltshire sounding accent a man after my own heart peace and love brother
👍
How about an Elden Ring review next?
Couldnt you just hit with a lil paint? Airbrush a light green over top.
Greg´s - funny
Cry yourself to sleep every night because we your viewers are too darned lazy to hit a simple button while giving you the thumbs up !!
I suppose this works for making a single, specific kind of tree...also, I fail to see how these are supposed to be even remotely close to indestructible.
Bro…
Nothing is cat proof, Dude.
Them dreads say u love other kinds of trees man 🤣 me too man me too 🤣
