- This is a personal side project, a remake of a PC-DOS game I played and really enjoyed when I was younger. I started this in 2013 as a rough prototype, and I have continued to polish the features, performance and details over time. Nine years later, I think it's pretty feature-rich and performant on desktop computers.
Armor Alley is an early example of a real-time strategy type game, where you build up convoys of tanks, missile launchers, infantry, engineers and vans and try to get a van across the battlefield to the enemy base. At the same time, the enemy is doing the same thing and also has a helicopter to fight against you, the human player, flying a helicopter. There are anti-aircraft guns and bunkers and other elements to deal with, too. For its time (1990-1991), it was quite an intricately-detailed game.
My modern remake of the game is designed to be played in a web browser, ideally on a desktop computer using a keyboard and mouse - like the original. This remake is made in HTML5 + JavaScript + CSS3, free and open source, and the code and assets are available on GitHub: github.com/sco...

I played this game lot back in the day. Often we stayed in the office after work and played with 4 people, I was working at an Apple dealer at that time.
From time to time this game comes to mind and today I searched the net a bit about it and found your web-browser version. I am pretty impressed! Thanks for that!
I heard that you could even play vs. PC players via the network, too; the developers behind this seemed like quite a talented team.

This is very nice. In the early 2000s I used to play a game called Copter Commander, that was an open source clone of Armor Alley. It was very smooth and enjoyable. It can still be found in sourceforge, but unfortunately it seems it has not been maintained for a very long time
