Loved your reaction. The song was cut a bit due to time constraints on Ed Sullivan. Yes it was used on Fresh Prince, and Tom did a guest spot on it as a guardian angel of Carlton.
Tom Jones is a Welsh singer who has one of the smoothest powerful voices around. And he was a showman too, in fact he was a big heart-throb with the ladies. He has so many hits such as "Green Green Grass Of Home", "Delilah", "What's New Pussycat?", "She's A Lady" etc. He covers a lot of genres. He is still performing & is a coach on "The Voice" UK version. He also had a variety show from 69 - 71 & had some of the biggest music stars at the time.
Tom Jones can sing anything he damn well pleases but I recently learned that he has a deep blues catalog and lots of Blues artists consider him to be the best blues singer of all time. His depth is astonishing.
I saw Sir Tom many times at Mohegan Sun in CT. The last time the whole audience appeared to be over 80. We were stage right to Mr. Jones and up near the top also near an entrance so we had room. There were five of us dancing our hearts out. He turned and did the rest of his show towards us. I believe one show someone walked up to the stage with their scrapbook. Um, he’s in the middle of a show.
I love watching Tom Jones performances. He was everything. You may have heard Wyclef Jean's "Pussycat" which samples Tom's "What's New Pussycat?" I believe he makes a cameo in the music video as well. Something about that Welsh air/water...one of my favourite singers ever, Dame Shirley Bassey, is also from Wales. I'd love to see you react to one of her songs/performances: "Goldfinger, Live at Royal Albert Hall, 1974," "Diamonds Are Forever," etc etc. Great reaction!!! (especially enjoyed the Carlton lol)
Tommy you a rock it! You are not a superstar for nothing you have unbelievable talent! Your song delivery is emotional and passionate every time you sing!, You really rock!❤️🙏😎🎼🔥💋
Yes, Ed Sullivan had all the big stars. I sat on the floor watching our black & white TV when the Beatles made their American debut in 1964. I was 11 & in love with Paul McCartney. LOL Many shows are taped in the Ed Sullivan Theater still today. including the Steven Colbert show. Tom is a classic & also still performing.
Yes he is the legend Tom Jones was huge back in the day i remember him doing a duet wit Dusty Springfield it was a great duet and he did one with Stevie Wonder too check it out 🔥🔥👍
If you really wanna see Tom boogie his butt, off, react to him singing "Treat Her Right" (it was live, on his own shown in the late 60s)!! As always, great reaction!!! ❤️
I saw him in concert this past September on his US concert tour. He is still a phenomenal singer and performer! So glad to finally see him live. Edit: watch The Voice UK episodes when he sings with Jennifer Hudson
Yes...Sir Tom Jones! Find The Jackson Five's first appearance on the Sullivan show; making it on Sullivan, the Tonight Show, & the Mike Douglas show was the goal for musical acts & comedians way back in the day. Tom Jones is still 🔥 because this man CAN SING!
😄😄😄...you had way too much fun with this one..I approve !... Tom's voice..so powerful... 💥...I Who Have Nothing 💥...Delilah 💥...Never Gonna Fall In Love Again some of the greats from his career... Happy New Year...🌿🌿🌿
Tom Jones is amazing!! He had swag back in the day. My mom loved him and said the ladies at his concerts would throw their panties on stage🤣🔥. She's a lady is a banger so check that one out🔥. Btw your reaction priceless 👍
When I met my husband in 1996 he was 21 years old with piercings and tattoos. He was the last person you would think that even knew who Tom Jones was let alone loved him but this was his favorite song and knew every word by heart. Nearly 27 years later how can you not love someone who loves Tom Jones?? Lol
Best darn minutes ever and it is all about you AB. "GO BACK" You got me laughing myself silly. If you practice this move, be careful not to throw you back out. Many had and suffered back in the day.
You should watch the clip of him singiǹg this song on Britain's got talent..He is a judge on the show and almost 80 years old and he sings a little of it just as good as when he was young.
Yep you made the connection to Carlton. I was hoping you’d notice. Yes this guy is a legend in his own time. Thus the Sir before his name. He has the moves himself. It’s one reason the ladies went crazy for him. And that voice!
Ok. I have sore cheeks from how entertained I am... Right now. In such a crappy time, for me .. I sincerely needed a good laugh. I appreciate you sharing your time, and thoughts. It lifted my spirit, and I didn't think about issues for a few minutes. Great reaction. Thank you so very much.
LOL I love you !!! 😄🤣 great reaction ! Tom has many hits but this one you would love love love too !! Tom Jones - Treat Her Right - This is Tom Jones TV Show
Great reaction to such a joyful song that brings back great memories of my teenage years in Pennsylvania when we used to take bottles of home made elderberry wine out to the strip mines where I would sing this at the top of my lungs.
Note that every time he swung his hips, the camera zoomed in more and more until they just showed his head. That was a big No-No in those with the TV censors you wouldn't want to rile all the ladies up with rogue hips swings!!!!
back in the day, If you were on the Ed Sullivan show...that meant you made it baby!!! It was the who's who of entertainment. Now Tom rocks with THE VOICE....another Who's who (hahaha) you need to check out Tom with Jennifer Hudson performance on the Voice "Its a mans World.....he still GOT IT!!! (hot flash)
OMG, you're so funny - If you ever want to see what a band or an entertainer looked like when they were really young, check out The Ed Sullivan Show. The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Dave Clark Five, Herman's Hermits, the list goes on. If you made it on the Ed Sullivan show, you were goin' places!
Another great old TV show was Dick Cavett. He had performances of great musicians, and also fascinating interviews that really explored the depths of personalities. There's a series of Eartha Kitt's appearances on his show that really gave me the feels. I've loved her since I was a wee child and she was the original Catwoman on the Batman TV series. What a fascinating, beautiful, talented person she was! I'd love to see AB do a reaction to this video from 1962 of Eartha singing, "I Want To Be Evil". ua-cam.com/video/SS02GeKuWQ4/v-deo.html
Tom Jones was THE MAN in the 60s and 70s. Women threw their panties on the stage! He kissed women in the audience and they went crazy. The Ed Sullivan show was the top variety show having an incredible list of acts, all the top ones like The Beatles first U.S. TV appearance (I believe), The Doors, and Elvis. In fact Ed defended Elvis when he was being attacked for his gyrations. He had acrobats, plate spinners and other interesting acts.
Tom Jones was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II on March 29, 2006. Hence, the Sir Tom Jones. He had his own show for awhile. It ran from 1969 to 1971. Check out this duet from the show of "Raise Your Hand," with Janis Joplin. ua-cam.com/video/mZmiefQ5y4U/v-deo.html
Lol!!! You didn’t know the magnificent Tom Jones until you heard about 2 seconds. You do a great Carlton impression. Tom Jones has a beautiful voice. Worth exploring.
Ed Sullivan had all the stars before and after they became stars. Elvis, The Beetles, The Rolling Stones, Tom Jones. Herman Hermits, and lots more. He also had comedians on his variety show. The story goes that the only Comedians that were allowed to have more than the few minutes allotted were the Canadian duo "Wayne and Shuster".
Loved your reaction. The song was cut a bit due to time constraints on Ed Sullivan. Yes it was used on Fresh Prince, and Tom did a guest spot on it as a guardian angel of Carlton.

Your Carlton/Tom Jones dance is a hoot! Very entertaining. Thank you.
Youre a joy to watch!!
Tom Jones singing Princes Kiss is a total vibe! He was the king of the 60s and 70s cheese!
Tom Jones can sing anything he damn well pleases but I recently learned that he has a deep blues catalog and lots of Blues artists consider him to be the best blues singer of all time. His depth is astonishing.

This reaction made my night !! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for the laugh 👍
Yep you made the connection to Carlton. I was hoping you’d notice. Yes this guy is a legend in his own time. Thus the Sir before his name. He has the moves himself. It’s one reason the ladies went crazy for him. And that voice!
You should look into listening to his voice from then to his voice now. He still has it!!
I'm so glad you listened to this song. He always brings asmile to my face. The studio recording is really well done slso.

Yup, Legend!
My mom had a Tom Jones 8-track she wore out listening to it. He's great! Listen to him sing What's new Pussycat.
Great Carlton, AB. Hes 80 now and still doing it.
Note that every time he swung his hips, the camera zoomed in more and more until they just showed his head. That was a big No-No in those with the TV censors you wouldn't want to rile all the ladies up with rogue hips swings!!!!
Later Tom Jones had his own variety show. Check out a performance he did live with Janis Joplin called Raise your Hand ✋️......🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥!!!
Ha ha ha Absolutely love you
My first crush! I was 10 yrs old when I would watch his variety show on tv.
back in the day, If you were on the Ed Sullivan show...that meant you made it baby!!! It was the who's who of entertainment. They speeded this up, the studio version was a little slower and better.
Yes he was on fresh Prince as a cameo appearance. He was also best friends with Elvis Presley.
Back then there were live versions snd radio versions that had to be ultra short to get any AirPlay

Dead the way u just starting hitting that dance😅😅😅
🤣😅😆😁 yes Mr Carlton..🥰
He was often referred to as the British "Elvis"!
I just think you are so funny and your reactions are so great!!!!
Tom Jones was THE MAN in the 60s and 70s. Women threw their panties on the stage! He kissed women in the audience and they went crazy. Without Love is a great song!
Lovin' your "Old school" romp, AB
Check out Tom Jones’ cameo on Fresh Prince.
One of the people who co-wrote this song was Gordon Mills, who was Tom's manager.
Keep doing you. Love ya
He was his guardian angel in an episode and they sang this
The session guitarist on this record is none other than Jimmy Page, who went on to play in the Yardbirds and Led Zeppelin.
love your reaction!
I believe Tom Jones was actually in an episode of Fresh Prince of Belair
My mom loves to tell the story of her throwing her panties at him on stage 😂😂😂
Lol!!! You didn’t know the magnificent Tom Jones until you heard about 2 seconds. You do a great Carlton impression. Tom Jones has a beautiful voice. Worth exploring.
You should react to Tom Jones' cover of Prince's song "KISS". Make sure it's the original video with Ace of Bass.
OMG I love that...I didn't know he was Mr. Carlton BWAHAHA
Sir Panty Dropper..
Women went cray cray over his hip moves…
😂❤😂❤😂❤😂
🤣🤣🤣you are so funny you got baby.
There was a period in time that the songs were relatively short. I think it had something to do with technology back then.
You can find just about every and any performance from the Ed Sullivan show
And now you know why he needed hip surgery a couple of years ago. I'm just surprised it took so long.
Tom is the best we white folks 😂 can do for dancing
Yes, he was Carlton's guardian angel on Fresh Prince.
RIP Tom. You passed away 2 days ago.
