      Vivian Jeremias Dengler A blowout will sometimes occur regardless of skill level. As you tattoo more you'll notice sometimes it is out of your control. But commonly occurs when the needle will penetrate a little too deep, some areas let's say the client has stretch marks this can happen quite easily. Just have to be very weary, and careful depending on the area you are tattooing. Shoulder blade areas / underarms / inside thighs/ fingers. Very sensitive areas.

  • @Gentleman_Jester

    • @JonoSmithTattoo
      @JonoSmithTattoo  4 роки тому +8

      Ramon Viada Jr. In an ideal world the needle would be bolt upright with no angle at all. The only reason people put it at a slight angle is because 1: it’s slightly comfier and 2: it makes the visibility of your workspace a bit more accessible. Some people I’ve heard say it ‘needs’ to go in at an angle but in my opinion this is just not the case.

    THANKS alot Jono I'm just starting out on this tattoo thing 😉 & by far your my fav! 👊🏻 I had a question about isopropanol in tattoo ink??? Is there a danger for the health?? What's that EXACTLY can you explain for us please? 🥰

    • @JonoSmithTattoo

      Personally I never mix alcohol into ink. If you want to dilute it use distilled water. As for the amount already in ink I’m pretty sure it’s safe if you use a reputable brand as they do vigorous laboratory testing before it get put to sale. Thanks for watching!

    great job man!! love your videos! hey what about the angle of the needle /machine when pulling a line? I checked all these off before I found out about the angle of your machine.

    • @JonoSmithTattoo
      @JonoSmithTattoo  3 роки тому +1

      Personally I think it’s best to have the needle enter the skin as close to 90 degrees as possible but other will say they prefer 45 degree angle. It’s just finding out what best works for you. Thanks for watching!

    Does working more slowly (with appropriate slower hand speed) cause less trauma to the skin? Thank you!

    • @JonoSmithTattoo
      @JonoSmithTattoo  3 роки тому +1

      It really depends on your technique and how hard your machine is hitting the skin. I think a slower machine and hand speed in the beginning is definitely more comfortable for the tattooist and enables you to have more control over your lines.

      Faby Castillo I usually run at around 120 cps for lining. This machine has a 3.5mm stroke. I’ve done a review on it, you can find the video in my videos called ‘Mustang Vader Tattoo Machine Review’.

    What’s the difference in vibration compared to when you’re in the correct depth to when ur too deep and not deep enough? Is that explainable?

    • @JonoSmithTattoo
      @JonoSmithTattoo  4 роки тому +4

      Jesse James you feel the vibration in your stretching hand when you’re at the right depth. You don’t really get it when you’re too shallow and although you still get it when you’re too deep, you’ll probably get lots of needle snag. Thanks for watching!

    Hey Jono. Love your videos mate! Question. So I’ve been using a Cheyenne Thunder and I love it, but it kind of sucks at lining. It’s rare that I get a clean one pass line. Shading and packing it’s phenomenal, and everything I’ve read it is suppose to be the same lining wise, but mine just isn’t. I have two of them and they are both the same. I’ve tried different voltages, different needle lengths, speeds of hand movements, even different inks. Any suggestions?? Thanx bud. Hope you and the family are well.

    • @JonoSmithTattoo
      @JonoSmithTattoo  4 роки тому +1

      Tony that’s unusual because the Thunder is actually dressed up as a liner and is supposed to excel at this. It could be a number of things but assuming your technique is right it could just be a simple matter of it’s just not the right machine for you and maybe you need something with a bit more punch and less give to suit your particular tattoo style. This is the thing about tattooing, it’s not ‘one size fits all’ which is why you get some people raving about machines saying they’re amazing and others saying they’re no good. So maybe this machine just isn’t for you when it comes to lining. I don’t know if you’ve ever used the Stingray X2 by Inkmachines but that machine packs a serious punch backed up with serious power too. So maybe give one of those some consideration next time you buy a machine. These can also be converted to take cartridges pretty easily too. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!
