- Hey everyone! I’m back with a brand new Zelda theory. Today with the help of Joey from FerrisWheelPro, I’ll be taking a look into the mysterious disappearance of the seven sages in Breath of the Wild. After playing such an important role since the founding of Hyrule, you’d think the Sages would still be around come the time of the Great Calamity. Could this somehow hint at what's to come in Breath of the Wild’s sequel? Does dehydrated Ganondorf have something to do with their vanishing act? Explore the possible answers to these questions and more in this Breath of the Wild theory! Enjoy.

I think you and I are the sages, RMFH.
I really am convinced that the zelda team always intended to make a sequel to botw. This just reinforces that in my mind. I feel like the sages and the triforce will likely play a bigger role in the sequel.
I was so hyped for this vid. I thought maybe the seven sages where just in hiding because in Twilight Princess he killed one of the sages. So I thought if this was after Twilight Princess then the wanted to avoid that mistake again. Great work as always RMFH!!!

Brilliant new video. i never thought about where the Seven Sages where in breath of the wild until this video. And I didn’t remember the seven heroines probably because I still haven’t completed breath of the wild lol. And I agree that the seven heroines could be the seven sages of breath of the wild and I would be surprised if the seven heroines where the ones to seal this incarnation of ganondorf. And keep up all the brilliant videos as always.
I think we will find out for sure who the new Seven Sages are, I definitely think the descendants of the Divine Beast pilots are four of them, Riju, Sidon, Yunobo and Teba. That's four of them, the other three could be Hetsu, Paya and Zelda as head. Link could represent the 8th, but stands alone like the 8th Heroine because Link usually works to help destroy Ganon alone.
And I think the Seven [8] Heroines were just that - heroines of the Gerudo. Actual Gerudo Vai warriors that came to be revered.

I Really enjoyed watching this video! I've been having my own thoughts about the hand in the trailer and I'm really hopeful that it means we are getting the sages again!

Satori is a Sages that died on the Land he now protects and is commanding the Blupees to collect Rupees and protect the wildlife living in the Forest, if he was one of the Seven Sages, he would be the Sage of Forest for sure.
From their hand motion, it appears that the seven Monks of the Sword Trial were once the Seven Sages themself and it can be the reason why they can restore the Master's Sword power as it is though that the Ancient Sages worked with Hylia to forge the Goddess Sword, their first appearence be their symbol next to the Sword's room.
We are currently unsure from who Medoh's name come from, Gaepora Kaepora is said to be the descendant of a Sage too, Hyrule Historia believe it's Rauru but what if it wasn't Rauru ? This ancient Sage of a generation prior to the ancient Sages themself might be the one remembered as the one to give Medoh its name, the Rito Chief has Kaepora Gaepora's appearence and the chiefs are often related to the sages of the past.
The Eight Heroine are different from the Sages of Hyrule, like with the Lokomo Sages, it is possible that they are from an other deity than Hylia, this Deity would be the Goddess of the Sand "Jashin in its Japanese name" an evil Goddess ... it might be why only few people worship the eighth Heroine, seen as a traitor with her sword broken.
The eighth Heroine is actually the one that gave all of the seven, their powers, she is the source.
The Sages weren't gone from Hyrule either, there is the Sage Temple Ruins which might be were the generations of seven sages after or even before the 10 000 years gathered.
Nonoctoro Satori guards the Blupees. The Blupees give rupees. Therefore, Satori is Tingle.
Yeah putting that seal on Ganondorf probably caused the creation of Calamity Ganon.
For all we know the 8th heroine was the one who did it causing them to be hated afterwards.
Sidenote: I've always thought the reason Ganondorf Reincarnated in FSA was because someone took the master sword out of TP Ganondorfs body. Course now that BOTW is at the end of all 3 timelines i guess that means someone moved WWs master sword.
RMFH.... Speaking of the Sages, what do you think the Sage Temple was for in BOTW? Do a video on that
I thought...all the sages in ocarina of time died, but then...Impa is still alive on botw..
I believe that she gets reincarnated as well. There are a few characters from the franchise that get reincarnated. Link, Zelda, Ganon/Ganondorf, Tingle(?), Daphnes, etc. So, pretty sure that Impa isn't thousands of years old, just reincarnated.
It's a different Impa. According to Creating a Champion/Masterworks, the Impa in Breath of the Wild was only 20 years old when Calamity Ganon struck, making her 120 when Link wakes up.
At the end of Spirit Tracks, the Lokomo Sages told us that they will return to the Heavens as they are the servants of the Gods.
The Sages are kinda servants of the Gods and mention their name when opening a gate to the Dark Realm. And the Sages of Twilight Princess were sent on a mission by the Gods of Hyrule themself.
So, after their mission, they are probably allowed to join the Heavens among the Gods and then reborn on Earth in a new form when the time has come.
Tho, the Sages of ALBW probably stayed on Earth and continued to live as mortals.
The Sages of the Seal War too since they had descendants ...
I guess only those of OOT met this fate, they were already dead killed by the Bosses of their Temples, it's clear that Darunia was eaten and Impa torn apart, Ruto would probably be dead too and I don't think Saria can do much against Phantom Ganon ... Tho, Nabooru was "stored" for later by Twinrova, her mind is probably broken after all the brainwashing.
Rauru lived some times after Majora's Mask and finally met his end in an unseen event, as he wasn't of any use anymore.

Nonoctoro I don't believe the "Sages are Dead" theory, mainly because they appear on Death Mountain alive and well at the end of the game. All the sages are implied to be alive either shortly before or when Link enters the temples, some are outright confirmed to be alive as we meet them. It is more likely that they were held in a sort of stasis by either divine or evil magic in order to draw the hero, much like Zelda was held in a pink crystal by Ganondorf.

Can we be certain that the mummified evil we see in the trailer is really Ganondorf? Or is it Demise, the god of all evil, buried, sealed, imprisoned deep within the earth of Hyrule by the Goddess Hylia's hand all these years since the events of Skyward Sword? Both Ganondorf and Demise do look rather similar.
Though, it couldn't be Hylia's hand we see as she had been reincarnated into the mortal Princess Zelda. But some have theorized it is Zelda's mother, who was also named Zelda and wielded the power to seal the darkness as previous Zelda's before her have been able to do.
I think it’s safe to assume it’s Ganondorf’s body. Gerudo symbols all over his jewelry and creating a champion/master works states that the last Gerudo male born into the tribe turned into the Great Calamity, hence the red eyes towards the end of the trailer. Although, it is possible the red eyes/malice is Demise, he just got fed up with Ganondorf and decided to take over his body. Could be why Fi (who was supposed to be asleep forever) woke up. Theory is in the works ;)

Your concluding theory that the Royal family did this to him just because of his heritage and who he was seems like a Pokemon: Farfetch'd. If such were the case there would still be tension between the Gerudo and the Hylians because the Gerudo were once thieves. It would make more sense if it were done because he actually did something. The Gerudo, at least among the ladies, have a sense of honor and a deep respect for rules and traditions, even when they were thieves. Nabooru is horrified that the Ganondorf of her time killed people, and the Gerudo of the Four Swords Adventures era are equally angry when their Ganondorf abandoned his post as the Guardian of the Desert to seek out more power, breaking their law of not entering the sacred pyramid in the process. It is my theory that this was the straw that broke Naboris' back, causing them to change their age-long tradition of the lone male that is born once every hundred years becoming king of the Gerudo. Now whether this was the cause or not, Creating a Champion/Masterworks does state in the history of the Gerudo that "there has not been another male Gerudo leader since the king who became the Calamity." This does not mean that none have been born since then, just that none have become king.
If the green hand is indeed a seal, then it was probably done due to this voe going on another power hungry trip. It matters little whether he was the Gerudo king at the time although it perhaps adds more fuel to the fire if he wasn't.
Or, maybe the Seven Heroines were spread out over Gerudo history, with Nabooru being one of their number. It has been pointed out (by whom, I forget) that 'ten thousand years' is from the battle between Calamity Ganon and the Divine Beasts, not from the eras of Ocarina of Time or Skyward Sword; there may be millennia more between those three... Headcanon: perhaps the Eighth was to be Twinrova, Ganondorf's mother(s), abandoned with his defeat. Just thinkin'.
Hmmm interesting...I thought they were supposed to be the Seven Sages from one era...That an interesting theory about Ganondorf. It's so different from the main one right now about how the Zonai are responsible for his state. The sequel will hopefully have more info about the Zonai as well as the Gerudo, particularly the Seven Heroines

Could It be at all possible that the champions in breath of the wild could be descendants of the sages of ocarina of time and wind waker or possibly even a link between worlds.
Ether that or the Champions are the new equivalent to the sages in this new era of zelda.

i feel this may have some prove yet still an innocent ganon being place on trial for past crimes if i have learn anything from zelda it is the follow don't mess with ganon look at oot where he wanted a better place for his people so by doing this they only cause his evil to awaken
