      I'm excited for those videos! By the way, nice theory! Another possibility is that the eighth statue represents Zelda, since she would stand out from the rest. But I guess that wouldn't make sense with the description stating that it was worshipped by somebody else...

      Commonwealth Realm I would love it if you could do a video on the origins and possible connections those 7 virtues might have with the sages from Ocarina Of Time. My thoughts on which of the sages are connected to which virtue are below and I would appreciate it if you would make a video about if you agree with my logic and your thoughts on it.
      Flight: The Sage of Light Raru has some form of connection with the owl Kaepora Gaebora so I believe the virtue of Flight might connect to him.
      Endurance: I believe Darunia would be connected to the virtue of Endurance as he is a Goron who are usually pretty durable.
      Spirit: Spirit most likely is connected to Nabooru as she is the Sage of Spirit.
      Gentleness: I believe Saria is connected to the virtue of gentleness due to her not really being a fighter, at no point do we see her fight.
      Motion: I believe motion may be connected to Princess Ruto due to her being able to swim very well while also being able to survive on land.
      Knowledge: Knowledge is one of the 2 virtues I am unsure of, the other being Skill, Impa is quite knowledgeable so she might be connected to it however, Zelda possesses the Triforce of Wisdom which makes her a possible choice as well.
      Skill: like with Knowledge I am unsure if Skill would be referring to the traits possessed by Impa or if it is connected to Zelda being disguised as Sheik, who was very skilled at fighting. Impa was the protector of Princess Zelda in Ocarina Of Time so logically she would be a skilled fighter also making her a candidate for being connected to Skill.

    Some games, like A Link to the Past, do have all the sages as female so the statues could represent one of those groups. If these are indeed the sages from Ocarina of Time, then the seven virtues can actually fit rather nicely.
    Skill - Impa. As a Sheikah this is somewhat self explanatory given what we know of the tribe.
    Spirit - Nabooru. Being the Sage of Spirit, she also reflects the Gerudo in general.
    Endurance - Darunia. Gorons in general are pretty tough, and this is further shown by the trials of endurance put forth by Bayge, Heehl, and Kabetta.
    Knowledge - Zelda. While Impa or Rauru could also qualify, Zelda seems most fitting as she explains everything to you throughout the game and holds the Triforce of Wisdom.
    Flight - Rauru. In part this is because he is said to be Kaepora Gaebora the Owl, even though their personalities seem to be quite different.
    Motion - Ruto. Very fitting for the Sage of Water. Water has many forms, and can be hard as rock as ice or soft as air as steam.
    Gentleness - Saria. "Saria will always be your friend." Need one say more?
    As for the eighth heroine, many others including myself have had the idea that this could represent the Hero. It would explain why the statue is different since he is not a sage, and possibly why he is separate from the rest. The Hero is usually alone, forging the path ahead for the others often with little to no help. The burden to take out the threat rests on his shoulders alone, as Daruk said when Ganon awoke. Since sages only need to be awakened and are sages regardless, the reason the statue doesn't have her sword could be that the title of "Hero" always has to be earned. You can be handpicked and/or a descendant of a previous hero (Twilight Princess) but you still have to prove your worth to wield that blade, and this is true even of someone who has already done so (Breath of the Wild).

    While the Seven Sages were absent from BotW, the six sheikah monks at the end of the Trial of the Sword all had the hand poses used by the sages when they sealed Ganon away in OoT. Maybe they were the successors of the sages 10,000 years ago. It’s not unusual for the sages to all be of one race. All the sages were Hylians in A Link to the Past, Four Swords Adventures, and Twilight Princess (although I guess their races were ambiguous in TP since they were all spirits).

    Ive always believed the eighth statue to represent the Twili people and the seven being the other seven races of hyrule. They had ties to both the Gerudo and the Sheika and were cast out from history. Also the "mirrored" nature of the statue could be a reference to the twilight mirror/realm that was present in the arbiters grounds. Also as a side note twili technology has both gurudo symbols as well as the same magic and tech as the sheikah guardians. OR the statue represents the Zonai hero of the past.....idk

  • @charlesdarwin9830
    @charlesdarwin9830 5 років тому +1

    Transporting the statues could've been a fairly simple task if they were carved during ancient Hyrule's technological renaissance. The most likely possibility is that the Sheikah designed and created several different kinds of vehicles that were designed for transportation, recreation, construction, and, of course, defense. The models that were built for defense became what we now call the Guardians.
    After Calamity Ganon's initial defeat, the King of Hyrule at the time ordered Sheikah technology forbidden and buried the Guardians. As the other vehicles were also Sheikah tech, they were buried along with them. But when King Rhoam began excavating Sheikah tech to defend Hyrule against the return of Calamity Ganon, he placed on emphasis on those used for military purposes and non-military Guardians were likely sent back to the Sheikah for further study and eventually stripped down for parts.
    This could also explain the presence of the Master Cycle ZERO, as it is clearly made from the same technology that produced the Guardians and the Divine Beasts, yet is not necessarily built for defense but rather transportation and recreation. The unknown fish-like "Divine Beast" found in the lab could also have been another smaller vehicle that might've been designed as a watercraft.

    I think the 8th Heroin is the Spirit Goddess from the Spirit Temple in OoT. The Gerudo counted her as equally worthy as the seven Sages, but maybe they wanted to distance themselves from their old history as much as possible and therefore never finished constructing that Statue? Whatever the reason, I think the statue is supposed to be the Spirit Goddess.

      It is like how Jesus is depicted very white in the imagery in Europe. People thought of a man, so they drew a "man". Gerudo people thought of a hero, they built a "hero" as they know them; female.

  • @kamille286
    @kamille286 5 років тому

    I think the 8th heroine is the entrance to that cave that we see Zelda and Link in in the trailer. If you look the entrance is carved out of a mountain side with the same color of rock and snow on the ground, so it could be the gerudo highlands. And since it does feature it in the trailer for the first BotW it would make sense. If that is the case then the statue probably does represent Ganon, since that is where his body was sealed. I feel like that would fit very well with everything you were saying, with the Gerudo feeling responsible for what one of their own did, so they sealed Ganondorf away in the Gerudo highlands possibly to try and prevent his reincarnation. On that note, maybe the 8th heroine represents the people who sealed him away as the statue would be guarding the entrance?

    It might also be likely that the Sheika didn't modify the temples/ruins/etc. from other civilizations, they very well might have worked along side the other tribes when they were all trying to work towards the protection of the world and all dealing with defeating Demise/Ganondorf/Ganon. It looks very much like they at the least worked with the Zonai so wouldn't be surprising that they would also work with the other tribes as well.

    People keep saying that the quote about Ganon giving up on reincarnation is a mistranslation but I don't think it is. I think the context of the two quotes are different. The Japanese version says the form came about due to his refusal to give up on revival which to me is referring to what he does across the timeline in that he always comes back, while the English one says he's given up on reincarnation likely referring to what he was planning to do before BOTW Link showed up, in that the quote is referring specifically to what Ganon was just a few minutes ago trying to do not what he's done over time. Thus the form has come about due to his plan of reincarnation failing and his refusal to give up on being revived.

    So, I'm really wondering if the pedestals and symbols were just added by the Sheikah. The heroin statues, if following Gerudo traditions, wouldn't have any indication of who's who. The pedestals and orbs are separate fixtures that activate a shrine. When the Sheikah made the shrine, who's to say they didn't just put the new jewels on the old statues (as clues for the hero). That said, Sheikah are known for their wisdom, so maybe the did know who was who?
    Perhaps looking into the virtues they're said to represent would better help us figure things out? Do we know which virtue aligns with which heroine?

    I think the 8th statue could represent Ganondorf, considering the statue is set apart from the other seven, or because he was sealed by the Sages in a portion of the games. TBH I assumed that the 7 heroines were gerudo who in same way had saved the gerudo while the 8th was left behind/ built somewhere different as a sign of disgrace. Maybe it represents someone like Twinrova who helped manipulated the gerudo and help make Ganadorf into the villain he is today.

    I have another theory about the eight heroine statues, maybe they're meant to represent all the past the Zeldas, the inscription on each statue reading the seven sages could refer to zelda being thee seventh sage, looking at each timeline in the zelda universe we see that ever single timeline has 6 zeldas that aided in the destruction, the seventh could be the zelda from 10,000 years ago that we never see and the eight is a mystery to me, it could be a zelda who failed to seal ganon or it could've been made to represent BoTW zelda

  • @mrsylar91
    @mrsylar91 5 років тому +2

    It is interesting how the symbols for each of the statues don't really match with the original seven sages. Is this something else that was lost to time?
    The only symbol that looks anything like the Medallions from OoT is the red curved teardrop which is similar to the orange yin-yang symbol for the Medallion of Spirit. Since the Sage of Spirit (nabooru) is a Gerudo herself, it makes sense for this to be the most similar symbol.
    Also, out of the 7 powers mentioned by Rotana, Spirit is the only one that matches that of the Original Seven Sages.

It could be the main reason why it was all buried underground. There are a lot of problems with this theory but I thought I might as well put the idea forward!

    The mummy in the trailer for BOTW2, It’s Not Ganondorf! (related to this video)
    Here’s my theory!! So this raggedy zombie has a bunch of Gerudo symbols, but we never see the Gerudo symbol in regards to Ganondorf (let alone without armor) However, it has always been associated with the Gerudo women (duh).
    Now the 8 Gerudo Heroine statues but one was exiled for some reason. Yet she still has followers who “idolize her” hence why we find her statue in the Gerudo Highlands. After her exile I presume that she devised a plot for revenge but was stopped by some divine power, the green/white hand with the gold embellishments (which mind you many of the gods tech and towers have those embellishments and colors: reference WW, TP Spirits).
    That’s who we saw with the red eyes, breaking her seal, The Exiled Eighth Heroine, Witch of the Gerudo. And its possible she has been chosen by Demise to continue the curse and spread malice.

    • @marcomagana822

      BigE21 true but I’m pretty sure it’s ganondorf. In twilight princess ganondorf says that something would be written in blood an you can see it in the trailer. Then it has that same orange gem thing of his forehead. He’s Gerudo of course and has red hair with sharp teeth when we see his mouth and face.

      Well it’s not ridiculous to assume the people following the witch didn’t idolize Ganondorf too.

    I always assumed that the location of the Eighth Statue was where they were all cut from. However your theory makes more sense since it would be more effort to transport all seven to that location. Plus the different rock type.
    I speculate that the transporting of the Sword got abandoned due to Farosh. Farosh can be seen travelling through Gerudo Summit. It even appears to have carved a pathway through the mountaintop. Perhaps this scared the Gerudo who were transporting it.
