All of his ridiculous antics like busting up the tour bus falls under the category of "hype" and it's not a big deal in my book. It's part of the game to drive up sales of pay-per-view tickets. Not a problem. I look past all that.
But Connor punched an old man in a bar just because the guy didn't want to try Connor's new whiskey brand.
FFS, anyone who punches an old man over something so trivial, LET ALONE a professional fighter, is a trash human.
Connor's ego was so big he couldn't take the fact an old man didn't want his whiskey.
Connor has small man syndrome, and anger issues is just part of it.

This is the perfect lesson that money can still make you miserable, ruin your character, be terrible for your friend circle and I'm suprised Connor hasn't fallen into serious drug addiction. This is the life lesson most people don't know becoming really wealthy would ruin your life, all your vices multiply, bad habits magnify with no one to stop you or say no and away you go

    Key parts of his rise:
    1. He had a huge, dedicated, travelling Irish fanbase, who were almost as much a part of the show as the man himself
    2. He was relatable and likeable, the type of guy who you’d want to hang out with and inspired you to think that kind of success was possible. His family also came across similarly well in first doc in 2013
    3. He was innovative in his approach and talked about movement and technique and preached values such as loyalty, hard work, dedication, discipline and sacrifice to reach the top
Contrast the above with his behaviour and words from 2017 onwards

The biggest thing missed here is the downfall started b4 he fought khabib.. the 2 year hiatus in which he made 100m for a boxing fight was the clear catalyst.. he was rocking up to press conferences drunk on blow, the bus incident etc.. things had deteriorated well b4 this fight took place..

Im no Conor fan but winning 2 belts and making $500 million, and still selling tons of tickets even when youre not the fighter you once were, putting your country on the map, bringing fresh eyes to the sport and becoming the most popular fighter in that sport and in sport in general is hardly destroying your career. Hes gonna drink and snort himself into an early grave but Id say his career was an extreme success.

@6:17 “Dominated Conor on the feet”???? Watch round 3 again. Khabib won a wrestling match. And his winging overhand was because of his take down potential. This video is so dramatic and bias. Can’t take it seriously now. You also gloss over his win against Cowboy and UFC icing him out during the pandemic for a whole year until Conor had to force them to give him a fight. This video is very dishonest. He fought Khabib with a broken toe. And he fought Dustin with a fractured leg and still slammed those leg kicks. You’re not telling the whole truth. Be better

    • @LeoCooperMMA

In the Khabib fight Conor landed hardly anything imo - yes he won round 3, but was hardly a dominant one, Khabib landed significantly with the overhand right in the 2nd round. And i said on the feet AND on the mat.
He made those decisions to carry on and fight Khabib and Poirier. Almost every fighter gets injured in camp, its part of the job. He had every opportunity to pull out of those fights if he wished.
Anyway its just my opinion, don't read too much into it!
