That Messiah album cover is absolute metal perfection
Fact
Literally, every band on here is awesome. 👏🏻
of course
Yeesssss ! Finally , after over 30 years, I know what band it was on my tape that I recorded fron radio in 1991 : EPIDEMIC ! Thank you, Herodes Evil !
thanks for the comment
@@herodesevil well, I have to thank YOU ! You can not even imagine, how long and hard I tried to find the name of the band on my old tape. Now, I found out the 2 songs on my tape are "live your death" and "finer things in life". Man , how many searches I did on youtube and google .😅 I typed "bands similar to old Kreator" "death-thrash from 88 to 91" "thrashmetal deathmetal with hysteric laughter"( the one on the end of "finer things in life"). AND I searched EVery compilation here on youtube that had "death, thrash" and "1988 - 1991" in its description.😁
There must be one more entry on '85 with Sepultura's Bestial Devastation. With Death and Possessed, they are the godfathers of Death Metal
but Bestial Devastation is EP
That's true, it's not an album like the others. Maybe it will be cool to make a future video exposing all the contributions for the birth of the genre, as honorific mentions for this First Wave of Death Metal video. PS: Nice video tho. I love the genre, and discovered new bands (and re-discovered). May Metal be with us forever
You know some goooooood shit, id live to see a first wave black metal version of this buddy!
I'm going to do it
you forgot Mefisto, grotesque, merciless, sodom (obc), genocidio, vulcano. great video!
some of these bands are not DM and others did not release an album in that period, anyway thanks for the comment.
Death was first. In 1984 they were called Mantas and had demos and rehearsals
That don’t count where talking about full albums not demos
Mantas is thrash.
@@nebelnebel28 Wearing a Mantas shirt right now lol
Edit: just realized you said Thrash and not Trash lol.
Mantas was Death Metal and had songs like Rise of Satan, Evil Dead, Infernal Death etc. They were very much Death metal as Death was
@@Cxdyy Later I will make a video about the first death metal demos from 1984
Chuck himself said Possessed were the first
Possessed is first period .
of course lml
Awesome list but to me the best is are Death , obituary, pestilence, morbid angel
I agree, good bands
Post Mortem, Blood Feast, Necrophagia, Kreator, Mutilator, Dream Death, Panic, Sepultura, Mutilator, Slaugther, Chakal, Protector, Incubus, Black Sheperd, Num Skull, Sadus, Psych Possession, Dead Horse, Epidemic is Thrash Metal but taken to the extreme, good Death metal has gutturals and is more powerful. still good video. It's a good compilation
thanks
here some more 👏
Dark angel ( Darkness descends)
Slayer ( Hell Awaits)
Rigor Mortis ( Rigor Mortis)
Minotaur ( Power Of Darkness)
is Thrash
is good albums but is more thrash metal
@@herodesevil Yes, it is thrash metal but they were albums that influenced death metal.
Man Brazil back in the day…
of course
Second tier bolt thrower ,blood feast
and Possessed
I had to go through my archives but yes,I am now holding two vinyl lps, one is from 1981 the other from 84. Both proclaim "DEATH METAL" on the cover. So weird. Are these records not real? Are the bands fake? What could this mean?
What happened is that at that time there were not many definitions of the genres that we currently know, some terms such as speed metal were related to the gangs of the underground and power metal to the "powerful" gangs, in fact there were bands whose covers said " death metal or similar" but they are not.
example: www.discogs.com/es/master/1275320-Mein-Kampf-Speeder-Warning-For-You
Missing every important swedish and Norwegian death band from the second wave 😂😂😂😂
Now the demo edition
It would be a too long video, from 1984 to 1989
I think Blood and Defecation are, primarily, Grindcore!
many more bands put out demos during this period. Albums just cover whatever shit terms the bands agreed to with the J%ws.
I know, in fact there are several death metal demos dating back to 1984
Yes all awesome even include sum Christian death metal incubus and chakal .
It should always have been a varied genre in lyrics
I’m surprised Sarcofago INRI isn’t on here. It’s just as much death metal as it is black metal.
that album will be in a BM video
@@herodesevil To me it's both Black and Death metal. Just my opinion though. I'll be on the lookout for that BM video!
Where's Vulcano? They were equally black and death metal in my opinion.
will appear in a black metal video
Why don't demos count?
What about Necrovore and Death Strike????
because that would be a separate video and because albums are the most important thing in bands
@@fernandopenalva2680 that will be in another video
No vulcano? 🤔
Thank you for making this list
ua-cam.com/video/s285PfdXX7A/v-deo.html
Celtic Frost?
🤔🙄🤷
is more like a black metal band
Only Death is real!
Nah, man. CF is proto black metal.
@@herodesevil tom g warrior said in an 80s interview that they're closer to death metal than black metal, but then clarified they just play heavy rock
I didsgree
explain yourself
Morbid visions is black metal btw sepultura was never death metal wtf
Actually if you consider them, I know it's complicated. For example, for me Venon never made BM.
First wave was 81-84 though 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
there was no DM in 1981, just proto thrash metal, speed metal and heavy metal
This list is a fucking joke for real metalheads ,all second wave bands too
why?
@@herodesevil I don't k ow why you only picked second wave bands and why you skipped the first wave and even left the most important bands of the second wave of this list. Why'd you do that???? Like wtf
