I know you get both love and hate from people, but honestly you deserve all the love - it amazes me how down to earth you are. Considering how successful you've become, it takes such strength of character to remain so humble, appreciative and respectful. This has probably been my FAVORITE video you have posted!! I LOVED and admired how you talked about your dreams and to keep them personal until you succeed then tell people. That really hit home for me. I also respect you so much more that you are open about your faith and that you and John take time EVERY night to pray together. That is one of the reasons you guys have such a solid foundation and marriage. Girl if you keep doing that you will go far and you guys can conquer ANYTHING that comes your way!

That whole thing about not telling people your plans, and just doing it quietly is soo true. Everytime I do something and i tell people before I do something bad happens and it gets jinxed every time and doesn't pan out. When I keep my mouth shut i always succeed. I couldn't agree with that more
Jaclyn I just wanted to say that what you said about how you should work hard quietly and succeed instead of telling everyone that you want to do something, is probably the best advice I've ever heard and it really just struck a cord with me. I just went through a time when I was going after a dream of mine but everyone around me was doubting me and it just really got to my head and I quit what I was doing because I started doubting myself. But you have said what I needed to hear. So thank you so much for taking the time to share advice and to really be there for your subscribers. You are an inspiration and keep doing you girl!
some people are hating on the fact that you must buy a Becca product to go to her meet up in Sephora. IN her snapchat it was CRAZY OBVIOUS that she was uncomfortable with that. Jaclyn should not feel pressured to not do something to promote HER OWN PRODUCT. and she said she only put it in snapchat instead of a video because she wanted her true fans to know and have priority. not trying to start a fight, just supporting my queen. The answer to your "How to be successful" was so good, so simple and so true. Never speak too soon, never tell people your plans. I totally agree! I'm definitely at a place in my life, trying to figure what it is I want to do, how I'm gonna do it cause I have so much goals and dreams I want to accomplish but always feel like nobody is ever with me on it, which is sad but only motivates me to do better and prove them wrong. Wait I screamed when you said "be a nurse". I just graduated from nursing school and started working on a unit that I love more than anything. It was a hell of a road to get to where I am today and even though I don't have fame and fortune, being successful and getting to where I am today makes me so proud.

I think your perspective on what happened with your dad is so refreshing-- My dad is an awesome dad, but he was the reason my parents got divorced, and he caused a lot of hurt towards me as a kid (inadvertently) so i have a lot of anger towards him for that reason. But seeing you talk about your dad, and how you're not angry about him, even though he failed you as a dad is really nice to see. If you can get over what happened with your dad, I can get over what happened with mine, because while he was the reason my parents aren't together anymore, he was still there for every moment of my childhood. Thank you for being so open and honest about your life
I'm very lucky to have a loving, wonderful father - however, flip the script. Remember mothers aren't always as great as yours, too. I can relate and would do ANYTHING to have an amazing mother - but like you said, everything happens for a reason and it makes us stronger in the end. xoxo

I had to pause then video when you started talking about your father.. You probably won't read this due to the over flow of comments you get but I can relate in a very big way to the father issue.. My father was the same exact way he verbally abused as well as emotionally which is very traumatizing as physical abuse.. I turned to drugs to help me cope with the issues I had to deal with caused by his verbal and emotional turmoil... I was an addict for 6 years.. I'm happy to say today I am 1 year and 3 days clean. People might make rude comments about what I'm going to say or even just plain out think I'm stupid. But discovering make up tutorials online and just focusing on learning about makeup and how to use it in general helped me..I basically turned my bad addiction into a good addiction.. You and hey Claire are actually the first 2 beauty gurus I discovered on UA-cam. Just thought I would share my experience.. Me and my father are still on bad terms and unfortunately doing the same thing to my younger sister but I'm determined she will never be affected by him the way I was. Ok now I'm finish watching the video lol
Congratulations on your sobriety. It doesn't matter what helped or how "stupid" people may think it is, it's something that is helping you stay clean and strong. Bless you on your journey!!

I have the most wonderful father, he has supported myself, sister and mother...not just financially but so much more! I so so wish that everyone could have a dad that truly goes above and beyond for them. 💖
I've never seen so much of myself in one person. I'm currently 18 and married and my husbands 19 in the military and we've been going through hard times lately. When I watch your videos I'm given so much comfort in knowing things get better! I love how your so down to earth about everything. Growing up my parents had a nasty divorce also and it caused me to have severe anxiety and depression. Which to this day I still struggle with and always will, as I'm sure you know also. My senior year it became worse because people talked so nasty about me for being married at 18. I was called nasty, trash, and told I'd never amount to anything or graduate. As I look back, though it still hurts to know I'm thought of that way but where I am now is where I know God had planned for me. I'm going to college on a full ride for Pre-med, I bought my own car, and I may struggle at times and cry my eyes out because I'm so stressed and worried but God has provided for me every time. Everytime I sit down and watch your videos and hear you speak of your husband, life, and struggles and knowing you overcame them together and came out on top gives me faith that the struggle is only temporary and pays off in the end. Thank you so much for being who you are and putting yourself out there. Your truly an inspiration for me. It's nice to know I'm not the only one that's been though what I have. I love you!!!😘

I CAN"T even move out and live with my boyfriend without an argument. (because it's not something he wants).

My dad passed away when I was 16 years old and I'm 30 now. He was 48. He was such a wonderful dad I just can't put it into words how amazing he was. I never got to say goodbye to him. But that morning he kissed me on the cheek while I was asleep before he went to work. It was such a shock and so unexpected when I got home from school. We didn't know he died until we got to the hospital when they put us in a special room with crosses everywhere. Then they took us to the morgue to see him and he look like he was sleeping. I have had severe depression and anxiety since that day. Your videos do brighten up my day a bit. But I will tell you this. You should talk to your dad some time in the future because you never know what can happen, even if he's not a good dad, even on his death bed. You should say goodbye to him. I hope I made you think a little bit about it. No one should carry that guilt. I would give away all my makeup ( which is almost as much as you ) just to have him back. xoxo
Your advice on success is exactly what I needed. My friends, family, and sometimes my husband will get into my head about my dreams and aspirations and it can be sooooo frustrating. I eventually realized that it's up to me to get myself where I want to be and not anyone else. After hearing your advice, I am holding that near and dear to my heart ❤️
No one's perfect, and there was no need to add any negative input on this video when she's just trying to let her fans know more about herself and who she is as a person. I thought it was very inspiring to hear what she would do with the money if she were to win the lottery. That's who she is, that's the woman she should be known as. The woman who would get her family & friends out of debt, give a chunk of money to the people she dearly loves, and donate most of it to charity. THEN buy herself a boat. She is in no way selfish and that truly inspires me. She should not be known as the girl with an orange forehead and "too much" highlight or the girl with a "ratty" husband. I suffer from anxiety to the point where it's caused heart problems, I've gone through the rough stages of divorced parents, I'm constantly letting people in my life basically control my life but just to hear you say you've gotten through it and to know so many people have these struggles gives me so much hope. So I like to watch longer videos while I do my nails so I checked this one out today. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your honesty and how real you were. It is so easy to get caught up in seeing all these perfect video and forget that these are real people with real authentic lives. I didn't have a great dad growing up either (very controlling/emotionally abusive) and I've been through the money struggles. You are so real and authentic and I look up to you and respect you so much more because of this video.

Hey Jaclyn! Can you talk about how to find the right nude lip for different skin tones in one of your videos? I know that there are tons of different skin tones, but I am struggling to find a nude that doesn't make me look ABSOLUTELY SCARY and I'm sure there are others in the same boat. Anybody have some tips?

Me too! You have no idea how many friggin nude lipsticks and lip-glosses I have tried to no avail. Just can't seem to find the right one 😕
Hey I'm a darker skin tone and I have the same exact problem! I find lining my lips with a lip pencil that's really close to my skin tone then applying the nude shade in the middle of my lips and blending it out really helps a lot. Colors that I bought and have never used I know use because of that trick! Hope it helps (:

This video is so full of motivation and strength for a lot of people (including me) dealing with goals and dreams they are afraid to share with friends and family because of their immediate reaction of telling you how hard and impossible your dreams are to achieve. I learned my lesson when I told a much older friend about a true goal that I have when she looked shocked and immediately told me of 'someone' she knew who failed woefully at the same thing. How can anyone think its okay to do that??? Anyway, now I keep my dreams to myself and like you say, work hard to achieve them. I don't even let myself tell me how hard it can be. Strangely, people also seem to get upset that you achieved something but didn't share it with them in the beginning.
Anyway, I'm so glad that you spoke about this very thing cos I'm even more encouraged in my hopes and dreams, and I came so alive hearing you talk about your devotion to your faith, cos as the world become more political, I cling so much harder to God just to go through every single day!
