They do show Jason's face in the remake. It's the scene when he confronts the farmer with the weed. He's fondling a mannequin 😂, and then Jason comes behind him, and the guy pulls the potato sack off of his head. Their in some type of barn attic or something. But yeah that's the scene where he first gets the hockey mask

@kurvos Well again I respect your opinion but personally I think you're wrong, the mask in the movie isn't shaped narrow like the Mezco version, the Mezco version is too small for the overall head, its got an almond shape to it which compared to the movie, the movie was an oval shaped mask that ran longer across his face and it didn't sit as low down on the head as he Mezco version shows, I would say you should check the movie again because the Neca is more movie accurate

@rickantel I've been hearing that its just a 50/50 release, the sack head is no more rarer than the mask packaged version, granted you could say though that most might pick the mask version up before the sack head, possibly making it alittle harder to find, ...hope that helps
i agree with the whole neck thing. he just looked amazing and a much more intimidating version of jason

I notice the Neca figures have more detail than the ones from Mezco. The sculptors had put a lot of effort into making them. They stand out from the Mezco which makes them even better.

@kurvos Again you're entitled to your opinion, its fine if you want to say in my opinion but really you shouldn't state your comment as a fact because someone will call you on it, I think as a factual comparison the Neca is more accurate, Jason in the remake had a distinct squared off oval shape for how his mask was, in fact aside from the top part to his head, the mask covers his face, the Mezco was smaller and rounded off like a two ended tear drop shape which is not how it was in the movie
i hope thy have it at the mall the next time i go i see how better the neca one is. the removable mask is a nice feature

Hey Spot, great review as always. This is also one of my favorite Jason figures. Although, the hand constantly pops off on mine. I do like the mask more than the Mezco, but also think the one in the movie has a mask somewhere in between the 2 versions. The Mezco mask and stance does look very awkward.

Jason in FVJ also has a sheathe for his machete it’s weird that NECA didn’t include it.

Yeah Derek Mears was a very menacing Jason, moved like a tank, shame they never made a sequel to the remake where he could have come back to play him again

Why would they?
i like the open hand of the Mezco figure. The gesture looks more dramatic. I would swap out the hands. I'd also use a dermal tool to carve out some of sack head so it can sit properly on his shoulders. Easy customization would do the trick. I really really want this figure but can't find a new one anywhere. Sadly I have a feeling Neca would be interested in re-releasing this figure. I contacted them once about it. I'm going to try again.

when i got this figure i thought the same thing with the sack head mask that it just levitates, but after 5 day with the figure i got the whole head inside the ball joint and now it doesnt lokk like it levitates now
NECA figures are always the best I find. Compared to Mcfarlane or Mezco there is no competition.

Well, it seems as though the knowledge that with a little force, they could pull Jason's head off would've come in handy in the movie itself. They could've asked him to stand still for a second like Chigurh in No Country For Old Men while they each grabbed a side and that would be that. Also, hair on the mask? What is he, Kane from WWE?

I've never seen this figure outside of this video. I've seen the neca 18" version and I've seen the mezco one but I cannot find this figure anywhere, I've searched both ebay and amazon.

hey spot i really need your help i brought that jason a week ago, and when i open the package, thouse litter pieces that connect the mask well you now what im talking about , broke and know when i try to put it back on it doesnt work, can i glue it back with super glue or can i send it to somebody that can fix it or something, please help cause this is my first friday the 13th jason voorhees toy.

You said they never show Jason's face in the remake. They actually do, it's brief though. When Jason is about to kill Donnie in the barn and he gets his sack ripped off his head you see him standing there without his mask and Donnie says "That shit aint fucking right!" I have the killer cut DVD so maybe the theatrical didn't show it, I can't remember. I did see it in theaters twice opening weekend but I can't remember. I've seen the DVD many, many times since then and I can tell you that they do show his face, but like I said it's very brief. Hope this helps. Great figures you got there. Can't wait for the new movie.

It looks like Mezco recycled the mold for Jason X, look at the shape of the mask and the holes on the shirt. I knew they looked familiar.

Spot I was watching a one's Customs video and I noticed that you commented asking for the part 8 Jason well I went on eBay and it some searching and there is a Jason part 8 and the seller is from Canada but he is very pricey like $400 it's up to you so if you're going to look at it get on eBay and type in one's Customs Jason and keep scrolling till you see the part 8 there was also a part 6 on there if you're interested

Great review, especially comparing it to Mezco. I stumbed upon this figure at TRU a couple of weeks ago. I'm not even the biggest FT13th fan, but this figure really looks great. Glad I got it. I haven't even unpackaged him yet. Very excited to see his mask comes off to reveal his ugly face! Thanks for the video.

Why does everybody make a big deal about these small seven inch figures? I ONLY collect NECA 18" figures, except for the T3 figures, and that's only because I am a Terminator fan. Can you tell by my avatar?
ok but 18" figures are just too big, not alot of people have space for figures that big, the smaller 6-7" are just a better fit for most peoples collections

@slipknot666917 Actually, I own a Freddy Vs Jason: Jason figure, and the articulation isn't as good as the 2009 remake Jason figure. And, as well as that, I don't think that the face is as good, either. However, I agree on the fact that overall, the Freddy Vs Jason figure DOES look a lot cooler than the 2009 one. I used my Freddy Vs Jason figure in a quick stop motion, if anyone would like to see it.

The 18 inch version is way better. It has way more detail. the mask on it was better and it is a lot dirtier. This one is ok but I recommend getting the 18 inch version since it's easier to find and it has much better quality

The MEZCO ones are more cartoony like defently love the NECA one most but i think ill try get the MEZCO ones too becuase they are pretty awesome and just love the cartoon look they have XD
