My art teacher got GWAR to come to my high school as guest speakers for mixed media and we got pictures and stuff after. Definitely one of the coolest experiences.

South Beloit High School (like 300 kids) in Northern Illinois between 2005-2010. They showed up in full makeup and had people shook 😂
I had LL Cool J come to my high school because one of the students won a contest. I'd rather have Gwar come in full outfits instead 😂.

Saw Gwar this past Thursday in Florida, the boys working security were the best part of the show. Their reactions were incredible, fluctuating between disgust and horror and settling on just pretending it wasn't there.
I was at that show too, The only bad thing about that show is that they didn't play long enough.

I saw them at Soundwave in Australia during the Prime Ministership of ultra conservative Tony Abbott. The band brought a fake Abbott doll on stage and beheaded it, with bloody spraying from the neck all over the pit. One security guard got really pissed off about it and had to be taken away
I got to see them years ago before Brockie had passed at a small local place called Jesters, but it was a hell of a show.
GWAR were recently on the Tiny Desk Concert series on NPR. They were able to fit the entire band in that small space. It was great!

I saw Powerman 5000 live a few weeks ago (I only knew When Worlds Collide but the tix were super cheap so screw it lets go) and Spider One's charisma and energy was through the roof. I was jumping up and down, learning the chorus' of so many songs and screaming them by the end of the songs. Fantastic show, fantastic energy and 100000/10 would see again

PM5K did a show in my town a few years back at this venue. There were like 150 people there, tops. It made my life- I'd managed to not be able to see a single show since Blood Splat Rating System & seeing one of my favorite bands show up & put just as much out there in this small town like they were on main stage at a festival was...just awesome. Spider hit the bus after the show, but the rest of the band just hung out & had some drinks. Awesome dudes to chat with.

dude, to this day I still can't tell my mother the full name of Greatest Lovesongs Vol. 666 it's been 20ish years and we're both grown ass adults but she still thinks it's just "Greatest Lovesongs" and there are songs on it she's never heard.
First time i heard Powerman 5000 was in 2001 when i was 7yo playing THPS2 that game had a lot of bangers Alley Life, Naughty by Nature, Lagwagon, Millencolin, Papa Roach, Fu Manchu, Anthrax/Public Enemy, Swingin' Utters, Consumed and Styles of Beyond. That game is the reason why i love metal, rap and pop punk

One of my first CD's ever was Sensucht by Rammstein. Lets just say the album art was not friendly for a (then) 12 year old back in the late 90's with the band photos of being pierced/spiked etc... My mom took that CD away SO fast it made me like Rammstein even more so thanks Mom!

My son's first proper gig was Rammstein.
He was 8 years old at the time and had been to a few small local festivals with me, but seeing Rammstein was a whole nother thing!
I took German in high school because of them....they are filthy. So glad only I knew what they were saying in my household.

Twisted Metal on the OG PS1 introduced Rob/White Zombie to me. Those soundtracks were so FIRE.
Gwar was my first concert - and it was a transcendent experience. 1991 at the Crest Theater in Sacramento...Agony Column and Green Jello opened and both bands were amazing.

As someone who's worked with gwar for years, it's amazing how out of context people don't get it, but as you show them interviews with them like the famous Joan rivers show or just show them the live show, it just almost automatically clicks and it goes from "oh :/" to "OH! That's awesome!" It's how I explained to my parents why there was videos of me getting killed onstage.
Gwar is something that has to be experienced.
GWAR are absolutely genius showmen all around. People may not get their music, but they've gotta get the art that's put into the show.

MM version of Sweet Dream video clip was something I had scares and creeps back when I was a kid, Beautiful People including. MM, Rammstein, and Rob knows how to shock people, they to me are the pinnacle of what a shock rock is.
DuHast wouldn't be the song I would use to describe how shocking is Rammstein, it would be either Feuer Frei, Ich Will, Mein Hertz Brent, or Mann Gegen Mann.

First concert I ever went to was Pantera, White Zombie, Toadies, The Cramps and Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black. Great show, and it was around Halloween too
I saw them live for the first time a year or so ago, and there was a 10 year old there and that kid was having a ball, and I have never been so happy to have younger kids hooked on GWAR

I've never thought about it before, but they're right, "Dragula" is absolutely a music video you can smell. I would've appreciated seeing some Arthur Brown, but quite frankly there was more than I was hoping for, so I'm alright with that.
I agree that MSI would have been a perfect example. Sad they didn't include them. Saw them as an opening act for SOAD in 2001. Had never heard of them, but arrived at the concert late and MSI was on stage. When we walked past the stage we had to stop. We needed to know who they were so we could find more of their music. SO MUCH ENERGY! They were awesome! Of course SOAD was also. The only act we were disappointed with was Clutch.
Been to three of their concerts where they were the main act, one of which I actively lobbied for (they were going to skip the Netherlands; I contacted their tour management and gave them some testimonials of friends of mine who wanted to see them live, to which I got a reply two weeks later saying: "Good news! Since your request resonated with the band so well, we decided to find a gap in our schedule and found a venue in the Netherlands to give a show!")
Absolutely love them to bits and wish they still toured. It's been 10 years since I last saw them in what turned out to be their last visit to the Netherlands :(
The first time I heard Gwar was on an MTV snippet back in the late ‘80s and I went out and bought Hell-o the next day. I still maintain that while the shock may be the first thing you see with Gwar you gotta acknowledge the talent of playing in those costumes with gunk wrapped around your guitar and fluids everywhere. Still got mad respect for them as musicians.
hell yeah, Hellbilly Deluxe was my first experience with Rob Zombie, instantly became a fan. easily one of the few albums that i can listen to from start to finish, no skips or nothing.
I never got into kiss either until I seen the live show at an out door concert and then I completely got it!
I commented on the React video saying I couldnt wait for yours and Alex's reaction to the video 😂😂 and here we are.

I'm a millenial, I had this problem with other millenials growing up. Mainly because most of them had boomer parents but mine are gen x
we had ICP and Gwar back to back one year at my home venue. That was a wild weekend haha

I remember seeing Gwar at Warped Tour 2017. The production was absolutely insane. I got completely covered in fake blood. The only unfortunate thing is nobody would let me crowd surf after 😅

Going to a gwar concert was such a blast as my first concert. It was a dozen furies, devil driver, and then gwar. My hair and fingers were tainted red from all the blood! Best show ever

I remember my first live gig, 13 years old Slipknot on the Iowa tour. Last uk date at the n.e.c Birmingham. We literally tore the house down. It was epic

Seeing them react to Gwar reminded me of seening them last year In Glasgow, best gig I've been to, best mosh pit, best fucking gig Experience ever.

Gwar was always an amazing time. I saw them every single summer from like 2008 to 2013. Unfortunately, I haven't gone to see them since Brockie died.
My first exposure to GWAR was Codename Kids Nextdoor. They have an episode where a character named Grandma Stuffums who sang parody versions of "The Private Pain of Techno Destructo" & "Gor-Gor". It's called F.O.O.D.F.I.T.E.
idk why powerman5000 is here but im stoked these kids know them now. As someone with PM5k across my knuckles and a couple others inspired by the band i was like hellllyeah haha. Edit: I met Rob Zombie at a local comic shop here before one of his shows in 2019 and he was super chill, just buying comics, I specifically remember he had some Judge Dredd in his pile. He said hi, and I showed him my ink and he was so stoked about it haha.

PM5K is not.. shock rock.. IMO, but damn they fun. Saw them live for this Tour, with Sevendust, Skunk Anansie and... Staind? back in 99 in North Carolina.

I bought a brand new white t-shirt for my first GWAR concert back in 1994. It's covered in fake blood, semen, and shit now, but I still have it. Took my daughter to see them in 2017 and we got covered in some sort of blue substance. She had an interview with a lady at the secret service the next day for a school project, lol. Ah, good times.
Ah, I love Hellbilly Deluxe - I had a cassette tape I had made off of somebody's CD. I used to blast it in my car when I would drive back from college to visit my family. It helped keep me awake.
Dude my English teacher (senior year) showed us GWAR and we all loved it. We pretty much listened to it for the rest of the class

Twisted metal on PS1 introduced me to Rob Zombie. My parents were egregiously country, or polar opposite iron maiden and Megadeth which missed Rob Zombie entirely. I'm so glad I've been a gamer since age 7. I'm 38 now and so cultured musically compared to my coworkers, friends and family. It helps me tolerate all of them so much more.

A friend of mine ran a renaissance/medeval shop in a mall in Northern Ky a few years back. It was on a week day. Alice Cooper came shopping at that mall. Got some knock off katana from Naruto cosplay. Well Cooper was using his business credit card for the purchase. Funny enough my friend thought the name on the card was a fraud until Cooper pulled out his I.D. for verification. My friend's shop policy. The way he re-enacted his face was priceless. Cooper went on to perform a show in that area. Having that same sword on stage that night.
I also love watching people react to music I love and know. Especially people that have very different music taste.
We all know the images of Dee Snyder excoriating the PMRC. Nobody remembers that Frank Zappa went so hard that he got the "Explicit Lyrics" stamp on an instrumental album (Jazz From Hell).

I once saw an accountant dance to Zombie’s ‘P Liquor’ and the dance culminated in her pouring a bucket of blood all over herself in the last minute of the song. It’s the most metal thing I’ve ever seen.

Hahahaha Gwar. First time I saw them was 1998 in State College, PA. I think it was them and Misfits. It was a f'n blast, only amplified from whatever drugs I was on that evening lol. Now I'm in my 40's, living in Virginia and occasionally grabbing beers at the Gwar Bar in Richmond 🤘

Frank Zappa was heavily involved in the fight against censorship as well. LOTS of great interviews with Frank about the subject available here on UA-cam. Love him or hate him, he was right about a LOT of stuff.
Depends on the type of reactions you want from them. If you want pure shock then yeah Lorna Shore , Archspire, and the like, but slowly getting them into the metal pool with bands like In Flames or Children of bodom would also be great.
As for Teens React to Deathcore, along those you mentioned we gotta add "Suicide Silence" with "You Only Live Once" for sure. Apart from that i'd add artists that show some diversity. Like Dancing Like Flames by Lorna Shore, Ghost Of Me by Make Them Suffer, Hate Me by Within Destruction, Darko US, About That Life by Attila, WBTBWB, that kind of thing. maybe even sneak in some Beatdown like Speed or Nasty
Edit: On obviously Reality Check by No Face No Case would be pure gold.

music is something I see the same way some people see personality, it's a part of everyone that is forever growing, evolving and changing and doesn't ever remain stagnant. To let your tastes stagnate is to do yourself a disservice and it's why I hate the question "What do you listen to" because the answer is for me, and I think for everyone SHOULD be frankly, "Everything" no one genre should solely define your taste and interests
My introduction to gwar was live from Antarctica... My sister introduced me to metal in general

I’d like to say thank for being so respectful towards gen z during your video. I have been listening to metal & rock literally for my entire life and I am gen z. Right before I watched this video I had watched a video by another commentator reacting to the same vid. He tried gate keeping metal despite getting into metal at a later stage (he admitted himself) and is a millennial, he spend the video complaining about the opinions of the gen z kids and complained when the history of shock rock was brought up and he complained that the one girl felt that is is a white male dominated genre so to then come to your video was so refreshing.
I had the same experience with my mom and a cd, it was just a Slayer Reighn in blood cd of which she read the lyrics

Nothing is more fun than a gear show, I saw them in Orlando and in Boston twice. Had a shirt with a blood that never got washed and had a boot print in the middle of the back from a kick in the mosh pit. Some body asked me what the blood color was while waiting to get in. Said you’ll see…. Powerman 5000 rob zombie not many know. Saw them at summer sanitarium in. N.c System of a Down powerman korn kid rock and Metallica. Great show 50k people in a thunderstorm covered in rain while ride the lightning plays and lightning crashing ovehaed
I think Baba Yaga would be the better pick from STP to show the kids deathcore, way more shock value but also just much more hip-hop influence in the overall song structure that I think they could really latch on to as well. Seeing them play it live was probably one of my favorites from the set too, Alex has so much fun up there

Tank, I saw an article about Coldplay tickets going for 400 euros in Helsinki. They have three sold out shows for 40000 people. But the thing is that the tickets are dynamically priced by the ticket sellers. Yes demand and request and you can at least get a ticket from the ticket provider legally instead of the black market. The travel business have been using this method for decades. But still would be interesting about a video specifically about dynamic ticket pricing. You kind of touched the subject with how artists may affect the economy earlier.
I never thought the day would come that KISS and shock rock would be mentioned in the same sentence, but here we are.
