2.18 I estimate the date of this shot of Alnmouth station to be around 1975 as the old enclosed wooden footbridge is gone, replaced by a 1970s-style one, and the old buildings on the down platform have been demolished, a functional waiting room built in its place. The original buildings on the Newcastle side were demolished around 1976.
52D Video's Cheers Hard to believe there used to be sidings and an engine shed there. There was even talk of complete closure at one time but the MOD was instrumental in keeping it open as it is the nearest station for the Boulmer installation.
