honestly i really do not like this guy as rider overall, i get it if you wanna take riding seriously but thats doesn't mean you have to run into people, i watched a video of a really popular rider (forgot name) doing this and he didn't run into anyone
I am always impressed by the fitness and physical ability of racers, but the skill here is what really impresses me. An incredible amount of finesse and ability.
Finesse ? He just runs into people hoping they will make way. And the way he screams whenever there is a crash says it all. Quite the opposite of finesse.

This was fun especially the start. As someone who has done a lot of racing If you are slow or a beginner or a bad rider at the rear keep riding have fun and have pride You have a right to be there. (and do stupid stuff) if good riders want to start at the rear and pass that’s all part of the game.
I didn’t watch the video but as it was pre playing I saw him hit people from behind. Kind of a jackass move really. That is all, downhill bicycles aren’t the most entertaining of the bicycle sports. It isn’t BMX racing or dirt jumping.

Love watching these races! Having done a lot of MTB riding over the decades, one thing I really enjoy about these events is the camaraderie between riders. They’re all out there having fun! Even when crashing into each other, they’re laughing and making jokes. Road racers by comparison are too serious and aggressive.

I saw a few comments referring to running over others but that is not in this case. Huge amount of racers on a tight narrow course. To get around others to win when the course is so narrow is going to result in collisions. No way around it. Most any Collision was a result of racer in front of him moving over slightly when he is passing, or suddenly slowing down when he is close. The goal is to win , not a relaxed enjoy the scenery ride. To win a tight course you have to take chances or guaranteed you will not win. The whole course is simply to narrow to avoid having any collisions. I thought he raced very well. A lot of his moves where very good split second thinking.

At 02:10 it looks like he uses contact to foul another rider's pedaling action through front wheel contact. They suddenly have a 'moment' once he gets alongside anyway. If this is a casual race he's way too aggressive. If it's a serious race... disqualify?

Yo. Loic is an absolute monster, placed top ten after starting behind everyone and falling. He never stopped pedaling and his pace was significantly quicker than others despite being tired. Fearless for the win!!!

@@undercovercucumber7345 Uhh yeah, but he didn't start with the rest of the riders. He had his own special "im a pro" start lane that let him bypass 50% of the riders in the first 10 seconds. Meanwhile everyone else has to start on the road. Anyone even with the most basic skills could have passed 50% with that kind of starting advantage! It's a real shame because he is a good rider, cheating like this makes his 'win' much less impressive.

Yo. Loic is an absolute monster, placed top ten after starting behind everyone and falling. He never stopped pedaling and his pace was significantly quicker than others despite being tired. Fearless for the win!!!
