Yea, that is pretty stupid, I have a cockatiel, I clipped his wings not his tail.. my bird flips out when people other than me touches his tail ... don’t get mad that I clipped his wings... 😣
RIDICULOUS!!! You should NEVER clip or cut a bird's tail ever let alone toss around an over clipped bird that is dropping like a rock!!!! Without a tail a bird cannot fly nor glide safely. I'm an experienced parrot owner of over 30 yrs and I'm appalled.
Yeah I soon realize that from all the comment. It's in my instinct to move away if something try to bite me lol. Now I know! Thanks for the tip buddy. Really appreciate it.
I know it’s been three years but the new bird was totally terrified, the bird is in a new location let him get used to his surroundings without people there or just watch from a distance
In advance, I really wouldn't adopt from a pet store. I've had horrible experience with them. On a side note, if you want to check out a nice bird harness+leash, look for the Aviator harness! Also, you should have kept them quarantined for 30 days. He could have been sick and got your bird sick. also also you dont got to use a stick. I've always used my hands. sticks can really scare them!!
oh really? What's your bad experience with them? Yeah most definitely I'll check out the harness. Thanks for these great tips! I'll be sure to be careful next time. I might purchase some more birds in the future.
I love your enthusiasm for the birds. Nice homemade Perch. Stop waving the stick in front of the birds. That's intimidating. What about a slow introduction? No concern for disease transfers? The garage door is open. Sigh Gravy is a cool name. What about Biscuit to go with Gravy. It's better than Greg.
@Kamo Jeez what is with the attitude and language? Kids sometimes watch bird videos too. Not to get in any of this but there is a better why to respond than swear.
haha i knew it ;) i think i got two females as well, but mine are very young (3 months). But please for the love of the birds, get them a room or aviary where they can live so you dont have to clip their wings.. and lots of stuff to chew on like branches, leaves or toys please ;D i think they will be more active and happier then. :) greetings
Dream Dimension There is no reason to cut their tails when you clip their wings. You need to do some research on how to handle birds properly instead of tossing them around and introducing them straight away. You are lucky they didn’t start hurting each other. Also if you can’t handle a bird well you shouldn’t have an easy way to escape like the garage door open! That bird is also definitely a female with the barring on her tail and reduced yellow. Please do not consider breeding because one you are not experienced enough, and two there are plenty of birds who need homes already.
am I the only one that is concerned that he got Collars for his rabbits, they shouldn't have collars, maybe harnesses but NOT COLLARS, if your rabbit gets caught on the collar you will have a terrible problem, please be careful !
I have to say and by looking at the comments and the Thumbs Downs. You don't know what the heck you're doing with Cockatiels. This video should have been titled two Nutts on You Tube. While I watched this video.. I felt sad for the birds and could only hang my Head. And please don't say your Video is advice for anyone . That would be insane. You want to treat your Birds badly.. then that is on you. You and your buddy are just young kids. When you have had birds for awhile and treat them kindly.. then you might be able to come give some advice... and I said maybe.
5:40 Don't force your bird to come out! I know getting a new pet is exciting but you have to realize that the bird is in a unfamiliar environment and he should have time to settle in before you start introducing him to other birds you might have. Give him time to figure out his new home. Also, shopping for a bird is not really a good idea. You don't know where is comes from and the way pet stores breed and move birds around the country is completely inhumane! This was a really cute video but if.possible, I'd like to discourage you from breeding. People sometimes get rid of their birds because they don't realize how much work owning a bird until they have already bought one. There are so many birds in shelters that need to be adopted and they deserve a second chance at a better life that the previous owner could not give. Thanks.
Your new bird looks like a baby and with babies (this is only with normal grey mutation) you can't tell because they all look the same until their first molt then if it's a male the head will turn yellow and the cheeks will become more visible and the lines under the tail will go and the under tail will become full black. If it's a female the colour will stay the same so the head will be grey and cheeks not as visible and the lines under her tail will stay. If Gravy has humped you hand then he's male and i noticed you clipped the tail that's not needed at all.
if you want the best harness (leash) get the aviator harness in petite(ebay or amazon) it's the safest one available. also if your original bird is maturbating (humped your finger) it's a male not a female, females bend over and chirp ^_^ Your new bird is a young bird so don't be surprised if you end up with two boys (it happens lol) Also if you ever get them clipped again make sure they don't clip their tail, they need that for everyday balance
Yay I'll look for one on amazon Thanks! :) Oh really? The previous owner told me it was a female. Yeah I'll keep that in mind next time. I still have lot's to learn about these birds :3
I got my birds when I was in 2nd grade and now I’m in 8th grade I had no clue how to train them, I just knew that you had to feed them, change there water, and clean there cage So yeah you guessed it! I still don’t know that much and they are afraid of me and my male cockatiel(spike) tries to bite me so can someone give me some tips plz
Don’t rush the process, watch a lot of videos, and go at the bird’s pace. You cannot force trust, you have to earn it. If they’re still aggressive, I’m guessing that you’re doing something wrong. You can learn a lot from other people. Research
first of all, u clip their wings and then throw them up high to make them ‘fly’ second of all, u swing the stuck around their head and acts like some kind of expert thinking the bird likes u alot when ure just traumatising it
Yes her wing was clipped. Big mistake because it take forever to grow back! aw Thanks! She does look cool. She also has some scar that you can see it in person from being attacked by other bird when she was little :(
Ok the stick thing was right but u never force a new bird out of the thing it is put in and making ur bird jump and glide down means it was scared and doing that can make it break a wing or feather my bird did that when there were on my shoulder broke it's feathers in her skin and now she has bubbles in her skin also never put to bird together instantly it's a funny video but kinda wrong
I have a question I have a cockatiel and it’s a male and just bought it a female I hade the male for like 1 month and now just bought him a female what do I do ? Let them or like what???!!!!!!
The wild bird is a female not a male 😂😂 male have more yellow on the face and female have more gray on the face but u can only tell with the normal gray and yellow cockatiel that way
Cutting the tail is completely unnecessary, and you're terrifying the new bird :/
true
Him waving that stick around their heads scares me
You are literally traumatizing the birds smh...
anyone else get anxiety watching him wave that stick around? 😅
Omg why would you clip the tail feathers your only supposed to clip the first five flight feathers
Casey Cates Ikr. it must hurt for them since tails are sensitive
Yea, that is pretty stupid, I have a cockatiel, I clipped his wings not his tail.. my bird flips out when people other than me touches his tail
... don’t get mad that I clipped his wings... 😣
Oh my god is it bad to clip more than 5 flight feathers? I just got one today and i clipped 6 feathers.. im so stupid
Moving your hand away when he tries to bite tells him that biting is ok
Thanks for the information mate, I really appreciated. I won't move my hand next time.
The bird is not wild it’s just not tame
True! He's a tough one to tame.
Hi I would like to clip my bird is it safe?
OMG TROPICAL!!! I love your videos!
Why would you hold your cockatiel with your foot, you have A HAND..
you should always quarantine a new bird for at least 3 weeks to prevent spread of disease
When the bird bites you dont jerk your hand back it will scare him and encerige him to bite you again
Yeah I soon realize that from all the comment. It's in my instinct to move away if something try to bite me lol. Now I know! Thanks for the tip buddy. Really appreciate it.
Someone has a potty mouth 😂
Why do u have the garage open it could try to get away
kevin blagg He clipped it's wings
MAJC Squad That doesn’t matter. My cockatiel’s wings are clipped and they can still fly a long distance. Plus, they can still fly but not very far.
In that case you did a bad job in clipping. A clipped bird can only land safely but has no flight capabilities.
the wings are clipped
I know it’s been three years but the new bird was totally terrified, the bird is in a new location let him get used to his surroundings without people there or just watch from a distance

You’re crazy you shouldn’t have a bird
@Semper Fidelis they don't know how to properly look after them
gary is a female ;) (if it isnt under 6 months old then its not safe to say)
le gam i took it to the vet i was told that its a female 😊
haha i knew it ;) i think i got two females as well, but mine are very young (3 months). DO NOT *THROW* YOUR BIRDS DUMMY
You can't be serious. That's the store that I go to! 😂 Like the exact location!
You cut their tails??
Not exactly their whole tail but like clip the feather.
Why?

I know that, He knows that but I'm pretty sure he doesn't care. ( *No Offence* )
If you don't care dislike the comment

Cockatiels: Boi why u tryna hit us with dat wooden finger?
Your new bird looks like a baby and with babies (this is only with normal grey mutation) you can't tell because they all look the same until their first molt then if it's a male the head will turn yellow and the cheeks will become more visible and the lines under the tail will go and the under tail will become full black. Why did I watch this...
My cockatiel is always very quiet and after it heard Gary chirp, it woke everyone up...
LOL I wish I could understand what the bird were saying D:
if you want the best harness (leash) get the aviator harness in petite(ebay or amazon) it's the safest one available. also if your original bird is maturbating (humped your finger) it's a male not a female, females bend over and chirp ^_^ Your new bird is a young bird so don't be surprised if you end up with two boys (it happens lol)

Your first pet store has nothing 🤣
But... you can tell that Gravy really loves and trusts you
"the one is calling her" What she really means is "Stay away and never come back"
Petco birds are highly aggressive and mean because they’re just tossed into cages and never handled, so get one from a breeder, they are way nicer
28 august! im buying a cockatiel too
I have a question. I bought yesterday my cokatiels and everytime i try to touch to calm him down he breaths loudly how can he get used to me
My cockatiel was on my shoulder and he was screaming as your birds were
I didn't bought one but an albino cockatiel went inside our house
The hair 😂😂
If it is Wild it would came from the outside
Just got mine today and i picked it up using my fingers and for some reason it does step up easily and doesnt bite me lol
Your new bird must really love you then! This new bird bite a lot at first but stop now.
Its probably because she used to people because the place i got her from is filled with people
She's doing that when you pet it because your ether petting her on the back or belly
How much did it cost?
My female is the same color as your new one and she speaks a lot. Also you.need to research your birds and how to handle them.
I already have a pair of cockatiels and im getting 2 more today ,yaaay
I’m so happy for you ☺️ it is my dream to get two cockatiels soon
Why do u clip tail
I got my birds when I was in 2nd grade and now I’m in 8th grade
I had no clue how to train them, I just knew that you had to feed them, change there water, and clean there cage
So yeah you guessed it! I still don’t know that much and they are afraid of me and my male cockatiel(spike) tries to bite me so can someone give me some tips plz

How did u make it get used to u
What the price?
Some things your doing is messed up and plain wrong, and others are normal
So why can i not find an older man that loves animals as much as you do? Lol. I admire your dedication and enthusiasm towards your pets. 👍🏻😊
all shops will open
Damnn u have a whole zoo in ur house
What store did you get the cockatiel at?
We got it at C D Aquarium in San Jose, California
Is that how much noise they usually make?
Yes very noisy! But at night they become very mellow. It all depend on how much the bird get their exercise.
And I have “fishes” too
Me: WhAT tHE hEcK
LiKe I DoN't KnOw MAn
first of all, u clip their wings and then throw them up high to make them ‘fly’
second of all, u swing the stuck around their head and acts like some kind of expert thinking the bird likes u alot when ure just traumatising it
Man, that cockatiel is expesive in my state they are 150
Aww
When your birds were tweeting my birds woke up from sleeping and had a nice conversation with your birds 😂
Muahah! That's cute!
Same grey cocktail bird I have
Is gravys wings clipped to? Because it looks like it
Ps: the combination of grey and white on gravy looks cool
Yes her wing was clipped. Big mistake because it take forever to grow back! aw Thanks! She does look cool. She also has some scar that you can see it in person from being attacked by other bird when she was little :(
You got a new sub
Everyone in the comments “don’t clip your birds wings” etc..... He really doesn’t need a bird
I had put headphones while you were shouting
Lol that bird did not seem wild 😅
Why the frick did you cut the tail off
Chimes are actually stupid af
C'mon Biggie! Give me a pass.
The plural of fish is... fish. Not fishes😂
My teacher has a pet cockatiel she bites but it doesnt hurt *Willow* and i think he can make his OWN chocise
Name him mashed potatoe
Cool!
Gary is a cool name
I have a question I have a cockatiel and it’s a male and just bought it a female I hade the male for like 1 month and now just bought him a female what do I do ? Let them or like what???!!!!!!
You can introduce quickly like I did and supervise them or put them in separate cage then introduce them slowly everyday.
My bird was fighting for awhile nothing too serious but it took like a month for them to settle down and get along.
Biggs learn how to actually take care of a bird or don’t keep a bird
When u pet the head down u make them hormonal
Btw the gray and yellow cockatail is actually a female
You should name him turkey or fries because it goes with gravy
Cute birdy
cute birdy
Um the new bird is a GIRL!!!
You guys live in San Jose
Yeah we're from San Jose!
there's so much wrong with this video coming from a cockateil owner
Wow your a bad person... when you have baby birds they are soooo much work
How is he a bad person
Great video guys
Omg that poor bird it's tail 😢😢☹️☹️ why are their tails cut wow and you clipped the wings
Mash (for mash potato) and Gravy

You need to adopt a tamed and hand raised bird..
We actually did adopted a tame and hand raised bird. Her name is Gravie
i just got a cockatiel today!
Yay! Congrats! How is it so far? What you name it?
because im in greek land
You cut their tail feathers ?????? WHYYYY ???? THIS IS ANIMAL CRUELTY I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS
hundreds of dollars for a cockateil? there around £40-50 around here.
You should never treat a bird like that always take your time and let it come out when it wants
And also, they look exactly like my birds but gender swapped
Biscuit and gravy
His this petsmart in waynesboro
It's in San Jose, California
Gravy and banana both foods
Omggggh so cute ❤❤ I have a cockatiel too
Yay! Yeah I checked out some of your video too. You have some cute pet birdy as well
If u want to stop them for yelling in the morning get an old bed sheet and put it over the cage at night and take it off of a morning.
I think, you may have gotten another female
The wild bird is a female not a male 😂😂 male have more yellow on the face and female have more gray on the face but u can only tell with the normal gray and yellow cockatiel that way
krystal padden not with clear pied (yellow) well i guess you can but it's hard and not as obvious as normal greys
And you won't be able to see if under their tails have lines or not
