THANK U FOR HELPIN US CITY FOLK UNDERSTAND. LUV THE PROCESS.

Those are some giant tanks! Your operation looks ready to handle bulk, you guys are gonna be busy! I think you have a permanent smile, that's a good thing, it's contagious :)
Lots of storage tanks so we are ready for future growth, hopefully!
@@MapleFarmeryou sell by the barrel? How big are those barrels I remember seeing last year?
Those Tanks look great and you look outstanding and that a great baby bump Nicki It's a great time to be a maple Farmer .........
It's fascinating seeing large scale sugaring and all that goes with that. We do a small scale hobby operation in Vermont.
Used to gather and make maple syrup with my cousins. And I always loved the sugar house when it got all steamed up. It always was a good time.
it always smells so good!
Great to see you on the way UA-cam. You look great with the baby 🍼 lump. Stephen from N.C. .
Thanks so much
Nikki...you have that wonderful pregnancy glow. Best of luck during maple season...work smart.
Thank you!!
Very nice setup! Hope that have a great maple harvest!
I hope so too!
I like the size of the silos. I hope you have a good season.
Thank you!
Healthy Mom healthy baby.
Your looking as good as ever congrats on the new little one and hopefully it will get cold enough for sap to start running and you have a good season can't wait to see you on the next one
Fingers crossed!
Great video Nikki! What a huge syrup operation! Those huge silos remind me of the tanks at the chemical company I worked at for 37 years!
Here at Blue Eye Maple Syrup and Strawberries we will not tap until Valentine day I would like my sugar content to be higher, right now just little over one! I hope to have it around two+ in Fed.Have a great Maple season!!
Looking good girl. God Bless.❤❤
Thank you!
You guys were sold out of the amber maple syrup that I've usually ordered in the past....I'm actually happy you were, in that I ordered the Organic dark syrup and its excellent!! Thanks again guys/ gals. God Bless
The dark is my favorite! Give me all the flavor
Hello there!!! For some reason your channel popped up on my phone.. it was very very interesting and you’re absolutely beautiful so I subscribed.. I look forward to coming videos.. thanks so much and stay warm 😊
Thank you so much!!
What would you like to see next? Let me know!
Ever do a video on cleaning the tanks compared to silos? Confused on why one harder to clean then other. That might be summer time video…lol. Thank you for asking.
Walk around the woods and share the sights, relate the sounds, mention the birds, and most importantly tell us about the sap trees as they also have a reality and history.
I saw in another video where you were interviewed by Bar 7 Ranch that you mentioned your great grandfather’s old evaporator. I would be interested in seeing that. Keep up the good work and good luck with the new baby!
@@jamesducey2685 I did this last year and plan to do it again this year while tapping!
You are looking very healthy in your pregnancy. Way to go keeping your strong health.
Complex looks great!
Thank you! It's getting there
Amazingly, there is that much sap coming out of the trees. Look forward to seeing everything in full operation. Take care of yourself would want to see you overdo it.
That's why beside tapping you won't see me doing as much physical labor this year!
Had to go to EA the other day and drove past. Looking good!!!
Slowly getting there!
@@MapleFarmer hope to see you guys for Maple Days this year.
Congratulations on the baby bump . Be careful and don't over work yourself
Thank you, I will
Very cool I do about a 5000 gallon of sap a year which is plenty for me! You guys are super committed! I like your hat and baby bump also it’s so cute ❤
Congratulations!
Thank you!
Really appreciate you taking the time to show us your operation. Maybe I missed it but, could you show how you clean your drop lines? Thanks!!!
Très content de vous revoir 🙂
What a beautiful lady. Wonderful personality it appears. So are you staying out of the woods this year?
Very good teaching video! FYI, Your handheld recording device is only sending out sound to one side of headsets.
I noticed that after too, I need to figure that out before the next video!
You certainly have a great bunch of interested people because of the content and your smiling face. Please tell us about the trees and their history and legacy. For example, what are the oldest trees.Visualize what they have seen during the decades.what is their reality of being repeatedly tapped. How do the deer respond to tap lines?
Doesn't the proper scientific name of the maple trees begin with Acer?
Where is the chair so you can sit down and relax for a minute?
I did that in a few of my videos last year, but want to do a dedicated video about it!
Those silos are a sizeable investment in just material cost, let alone manufacturing and installation.
Thanks for another great video. So much to learn about the maple syrup business. I haven’t heard you mention about tours of your facility but I presume you do tours. I live directly north of you in Kawartha Lakes Ontario Canada and would consider driving down to see your syrup production in real life. I grew up in Quebec and have seen many small maple syrup operations but nothing compared to your new building. Thanks for sharing a bit of info on your pregnancy always nice to see how it is going.
We aren't open to the public and don't do tours as poor building is still under construction!
I tap trees in Wisconsin. I've been trying to get an "I'd tap that" shirt but they seem to be sold out all the time. When are you getting more?
If there is demand maybe I'll bring them back for this season!
Put me down for a 2LX.
Very nice video. I was wondering who made the stainless steel tanks for you? I'd like to get some made for my farm for other products. Have an awesome day
Call Kennedy tank in Indianapolis IN. They build all kinds of specialty tank. If they don’t, they can tell you who does. Look them up on the internet.
Well Dun! Interesting
Very interesting video! There are a lot of small-medium scale maple syrup operations in my area around Georgian Bay, but I have never seen one with a silo.
Do you plan to turn the open areas around the building into maple forest by planting, etc.?
We just started using the silos about 5 years ago! We don’t plan on planting any maple trees as to be organic you need naturally growing forest with the various species native to the area!
Did you employ a plumber or did you DIY???
Hopefully you are getting to see some of this NFL football..some interesting results emerging !!!
Warren is a DIY professional! He does all the plumbing, electric and more.
How does that one tank keep them separated? Floating divider or membrane?
Good vidio, is there non organic maple syrup
Yes there is. The main difference is that organic maple woods needs to keep diversified so you can’t log out all the other species of trees. There also has to be a buffer between the fields and woods. There’s other differences but those are the main ones
I would like to see that video BYAO 🤣🤣
I have them, just never edited them for YT 😂😂
Hi. Are we ever going to hear any updates? Thanks.
You guys must make a ton of permeate. Do you have a use for it, or is it just waste?
It is used for washing and cleaning out all the equipment.
Used for washing and cleaning all of our equipment. Its not wasted, it’s currently our only water source for the building
Nice, thanks!
Seems like maple syrup price are dropping. You can get organic dark syrup at Costco/BJs for very low prices.
DJ....😂😂😂😂😂😂
A beautiful looking mommy to be!
Do you tap Birch also?
How long does the raw sap keep before processing? I'm assuming spoilage is a thing?
It spoils pretty quickly, that’s why we boil every night. How quickly it spoils depends on the outside temperature. We like to boil it all within 36-48 hours if it’s colder and as it warms up we boil it within 24 hours.
@@MapleFarmer That makes sense. Refrigerating large tanks like this would be an energy bill nightmare. Haha
So do you own the woods or lease them for the sap
We own them
Please be careful with ice and snow coming off the roof. Would suck if all that plumbing was damaged.
My thoughts also, especially with being plastic.
How do you tell how full the vertical tanks are?
we don't... 😂 we find out how much is in them when we fill our truck. Someday we would like to add sensors to each tank and to our sap truck so we will be able to check them!
Ouch. They make simple floats for truck water tanks. We used them at our work. On large stable tanks we ran a float line out the top, around a bicycle rim with weight on end. It the weight was getting knee high it might rain on ya soon…lol
Are the silos heated to prevent freezing?
No, that would make the sap spoil! We boil everyday that the sap runs so it doesn't have a chance to freeze!
I had the same problem with my Carhartt coveralls. I blame it on the washer and dryer shrinking my coveralls, because I was not pregnant, I just looked that way.?!?! You could turn those wooden spools into tables. You would just have to notch a few out for pregnant women to sit or stand at. (Ha!Ha!)
😂😂
How are the silos and piping kept from freezing?
we don't have a problem with them freezing as the sap never sits long enough to freeze.
It is better and easier to order and receive from Maple Farmer - Boxler Maple
Boxlermaple.com is our business! I just named my channel maple farmer because I’m a maple farmer! lol
The snow runoff from the roof going to affect the pipes underneath???
We haven't had any issues yet, as it tends to melt rather than slide off!
Is the millennial farmer going to visit you guys this year? ( I'm the guy that you were talking to in the airport)
Not this year I am taking a less active role in Maple at the moment! Lol
@@MapleFarmer after watching your video I totally understand. Take care and don't work too hard.👍🍁
👍
Shanty doesn’t do that building Justice…
That’s just always what we called our old one so the name stuck!
Why do you call this building a Shanty? By definition it is “a small crudely built shack”. Maybe sarcasm? I enjoy your channel and videos!
When my great grandpa made maple syrup it was in a shanty and the name just always stuck. Now it feels weird trying to call it anything different
I can only imagine how much a stainless silo costs!
and stainless barrels, evaporator, fittings, etc....it's a money pit! 😂
@@MapleFarmer Totally, must be a lucrative business!
All the white plumbing you showed going to and from the stainless steel silos, is that pvc piping or is that insulation on the pipes? Please don’t let that little one freeze, get a coat you can zip up! Lol!
it's PVC!
Those stainless silos would be 3 times the price now.
Everything is more expensive now. It’s insane
Hi cant here you.
Really? I can hear the video on my end although it's only coming through one speaker which is odd.....
I could hear o.k. But it is frustrating with other YouTbers. Not sure why they don’t gain their audio…we can always turn it down on our end but limited to turning up. Don’t recall having any issues on your channel.
UHHHHHHH this woman tho
Wow! Ready for the year?!???
Hey is it clear out by Malone??
I’m not sure at we are several hours from Malone
